Hey Stavros it was the height of your 5th wheel that prob set off the tunnel warning. It had the front of the trailer a bit higher than it should be. I had same issue before with a certain truck and trailer I was driving at the time.
The new MAN sure looks good. In the 2000s I used to drive a tga 480 with zf comfortshift I liked it but it had some cabin quality issues doorhinges, side windows falling down etc.
Had a comfort shift was a nice transmission if you didn't rush it, Was always disappointed in how quickly the TGA fell apart in general fleet use we didn't rush to order any more.
@@-DC- I always found Mercedes of the time more comfortable, particularly the Atego. Only problem with those was a tendancy for the dash to think it was the festive period and to light up like a Christmas tree.
Another great video there Stavros. And condolences to you on your dad passing away. Seems to have done a lot in the trucking business during his time here to be remembered by. More good memories than sorrowful ones
I really enjoy your posts. Im impressed on the features, such as the electric windshield curtain. The euro manufacturers think of just about everything. Thanks.
the new Man trucks drive really nice, only down side to me are the buttons on the wheel make it easy to accidentaly hit a button while going around a corner.
Great video. One of my favourite trucks. The door lock does look like it could be improved. Glad you had so few complaints. Sorry to read about your dad in the comments here. None of my business, but I guess you are the owner/joint owner of the company now? Best wishes.
I found with the 2021 actros automatic to hsve a very slow gear change when at roundabouts or any other junction would get you un bother if you were not use to driving it
The gearbox on the new generation is decent enough. Still not great, but a vast improvement over last generation. I'm driving the last 2020 model and you have to use the air brake like a clutch when loaded or you can forget it when pulling off.
In Australia, MAN have a real issue with spare parts supply. Great trucks to drive, but if broken down will it get fixed? I know of a major contract that constantly has trucks sitting in workshops unable to repair.
Great review. It’s my choice at work over the DAF’s and Merc’s when possible. The multi media unit with its big button dial is just such a intuitive bit of kit too.
@@chrishar110volvo kids, scania kids, you're no different from the supra kids, volvo and scania are great, that's something no one denies, but that doesn't mean it's absolute
Nice video Stavros. MAN are getting there, some nice improvements most were simple fixes. When are you booking your flight to Florida. Just as many trucks down here as New York.🏴🇺🇸
con il 510 e il successivo 520 il man si può considerare tra i grandi, ma va rilevato una criticità deve essere possibile staccare il reader automatico quando si azione il pedale del freno, come d'altronde era possibile con il 480 prima e il 500 dopo....
We have a few hundred Volvo's and recently purchased a few MANs. The Build quality is by far better than the Volvo as with many features. Only small complaints we noticed is low speed steering effort and the rear wing and step positioning. Time will tell if we move away from Volvo.
Thanks for that stavros! Stavros, wots this Irish hand wave called the tang hand 👋, where on earth did that come from, hope its not a wave thats supposed to offend the Irish, if so im sorry, but i see afew UK truckers do it, but never understood it, i have googled it but still not got a clue, love ur vlogs
It's like an upside down wave that can only be done correctly from behind the frilly curtains you have pulled pulled so far next to you that it's basically impossible to see out,you must also be wearing the same clothes you would wear on a night out you must never ever wear actual work clothes and be driving in socks, slippers or bare feet.😂😂
Biggest problem with them is the air tank capacity and pressure. Also folding side flap brackets are terrible design, top ones keep snapping. Gearbox is a bit slow to select gears.
The digital dash always reverting to kph and kpg ect every time I turn it off is annoying, won't stay in mph or mpg and I have to go into the menu to change it every time I start it is a pain in the ass
3:17 Having an ECU there seems like a bad idea. Because, that zone catches a lot of debris. Being that MAN is part of the VolksWagen group, as well as Scania, I doubt it will be as reliable as in the past. Therefore, I would not buy a MAN or Scania product. A perfect example of this is the number of issues you are having with your Scania.
Hi Stavros matey 👍 it's mark from Wirral Merseyside i like the MAN trucks with the big cab's with taglift axe's and modify up ready for truck shows. But the MAN trucks are sister truck to the Scania trucks. Keep up the great work and keep your RUclips videos coming out i really appreciate it and enjoy watching your RUclips videos on trucks 👍 thanks from mark from Wirral Merseyside 👍👍
18 520. Does that mean it an pull a total weight of 18 Tonnes? By total I mean including unladen weight and load .And does it need 520 horsepower to do that
The exterior of the "MAN TGX" looks really good but the interior looks really budget. Like why did they decide to make it all look so cheap? You compare this to a same spec scania or volvo and there way more premium and comfortable. Even the bottom of the range versions are nice than these.
I find this funny, the lack of a touch screen would be a few I would look for. And I know there is the dial control but are we sure it is not also touchscreen. It might be but if it is I would expect the touchscreen to be disabled when moving.
I got to say the man yrucknis up there with the Volvo and scania, the gx is a cracking truck , and to be fair I do think it's better than a scania Stavros part ex your scania fir a gx

Yes, they are German built. MAN is part of the VW concern and they used to be competing against trucks like Renault, Iveco and DAF. With the addition of the TGX series they've taken the fight to Mercedes, Volvo and Scania.
The dash looks like that of a cheap car...sad to see MAN nowadays, back in the '90s they made things inside look good but now the exterior seems to matter more.
I think the MAN and Renult are just cheap. Every little "thing" is just cheap and seem to be an afterthought. These truck companies need to hire real, long term drivers to help design the trucks and stop making the drivers "get used to" the way they design it. Thats backwards. We are supposed to tell them what we want and what goes where, not vice versa. p.s. CHEERS to celebrating Rory. Absolute LEGEND and you boys will do ok because he laid down a great trail to follow..
Good to see you posting again Stav, condolences for your father passing.

Why would you want your ECU exposed inside the wheel well?! Crazy placement
sound nice and its quiet to when your on the road to its not bumpy
now thats what i like, a no nonsense tour, and test drive you tell it as it is, if you need more power, or less ,good luck stay safe

Good morning! 👋
Irish highways....so neat and heavenly
Hello, can you post a video about the transport business, buying a used truck, transport prices and so on. thank you.
Huge improvement, now it looks and feels like a decent truck.. it can definitely compete with Volvo
Compete with what? With Renault, Daf and Merc. Not a Volvo or a Scania. These trucks are in a different level.

wow nice the man tgx is a nice truck what did you think of if when you took it for a drive

Are all the switches down near your knee, so you crash the truck whilst trying to operate the sun visor ?

Was just wondering why the pipes behind the cab are called suzies?
The correct spelling is Susie Coil, rather than Suzi Coil, the term is essentially an acronym for SUSpended Insulated Electrical lead

Does it still take hissy fits & refuse to engage a gear ?
Ope u gettin on well fella again sorry for ur your loss. Ope u won’t be in the office lol.
Why don’t they make the 6x2 again?
Is that the Scania engine?
It’s a sub woofer 😊

Its all the same ZF transmissions exept volvo i think
Can you now actually see the instrument panel from your driving position?

Think the 18t is the axle load for the single axle, with the extra tags it's 26t
I like a Nice MAN
This is el older looking new truck out there …
0:29 metric horse power? are those kilowatts?
Metric horsepower is a thing and differ from kilowatts.
European manufacturer use metric HP on every advertisement they do.
@@ajidamarjati if its metric is not HP... BHP HP... not metric.
Is a MAN 6 cilinder Engine the same as a Scania 6 cilinder Engine?
No, they're different.
Scania DC13 have 12.7 litre, MAN D26 have 12.4 litre.

Why the fook is top gear NOT ratioed to be most efficient at 60mph ?
Because most of European country have a maximum speed limit of 80 kph for HGV. Only a few country allow HGV to run at 90 kph (56 mph).
And it's not top gear that must be adjusted to be economical at cruising speed, it's your rear diff ratio.
