They still are a candidate to join the SEC whenever they decide to expand. They moved up the list rather quickly thanks to how badly FSU & Clemson have screwed up recently. The top 4 are now UNC, UVA, WVU & Kansas. Would love to have West Virginia in the SEC.

He repeated it again later on in that episode. I don’t care what Mike Casazza, Tony Caridi or Neal Brown says. I never believed we were ever in the bottom 4th or 3rd in the Big 12. The 247 Sports article had us 27th in the nation in athletic donations from 2005 to 2022. SI has 3 WVU players in the top 18 highest paid in the Big 12. The USA Today has us 7th in the Big 12 in revenue. With the RR hire along everything I’m hearing, I’m expecting all of that to raise. Let’s Go Mountaineers!

"Hey, that kid started at Ohio St., Alabama, Texas or Oregon." I think that's what fans are wanting to see.

That’s only a small fraction of the revenue. Least amount of executive suites, untapped revenue opportunities with sponsors and etc., scholarship waivers, and other things are also key.
If they do change to treat the program like a PE investment, then it's convenient that the accredited investor qualifications changed a few years back.... now anyone can take an exam and prove their competence in order to participate in Private Equity investments
The fact that WVU has to pay Neal Brown and his staff for the next 3 years is an absolute indictment of the university and the athletic department. Absolutely insane to pay for that total lack of production.
I don’t think WVU is looking at PE for money. I think the extra money is coming from the university academic side, state funding, and donors. These universities are making money hand over fist. They understand that highly competitive sports programs has a positive impact an created an uptick in enrollment.

That DC had the #12 ranked total defense this year. Before he got there, LA Tech was dead last in multiple defensive categories. Great coaches are in more places than just the P4 teams.
