Going from the highlights, Vanderbilt came out angry and hungry, Alabama came out arrogant and entitled. It settled down and Vandy won on their merits and Alabama's mistakes.
THE REAL REASON FOR VANDY'S SUCESS - The New Mexico State connection started with two coaches, Jerry Kill and Tim Beck. Kill is "chief consultant to the head coach and senior offensive advisor" and Beck is the offensive coordinator. Those two will make a difference to the Commodores for years to come. Check out Kills resume, he's one of those "turn-around coaches". Kill & Beck are the reason QB Pavia and tight end Eli Stowers came to Vandy. Stowers had six catches for 113 yards, 83 of which came after the catch. A total of five players transferred from NMSU to Vandy.

@@frankf684 In what world is an 2-2 SEC team beating a 4-0 SEC team a bigger upset than a top ranked team losing to an FCS school? App State was an FCS school when that upset happened
I think the best comparison for level of upset would be App State over Michigan, but a couple things that I think make this game more impressive is the situations surrounding the Michigan game. Mainly App State was coming off of back to back FCS National Championships, as well as it being week 1, upsets are way more common in the first couple weeks
As an LSU fan, I began the day with the intention to cure my hangover from the previous night. I said I would take a shot every time Vanderbilt scored. I was not ready for what was coming.
That 23 game losing streak actually goes back to 1985 since they have been in opposite divisions since Arkansas and South Carolina joined the SEC in the 90s
As a Bama fan I'm disappointed for last week's loss. Years ago Nick Also underappreciated Utah and We know how that ended. He didn't have kind words for Brock Purdy either. Clearly, Nick is a Hell of Motivator.
Let’s get this right off the bat. This is NOT the biggest upset in college football history. That still goes to App State over Michigan. And there are plenty more upsets like Montana over Washington in 2021 that I can think of
To be the biggest upset in history I think you would need to consider it being an unranked team over the number 1 team. That’s important. App State over Michigan was #1 (FCS) App State vs. #5 (FBS) Michigan. App State had just won 2 consecutive FCS National Championships the two previous years. Now that being said, it is still FCS over FBS so the “one of the biggest upsets” title still sticks for that game. Michigan was defeated at the last second on a field goal block. Now this Bama vs Vanderbilt upset is bigger (IMO) because you’ve got a Bama team who has just defeated #2 UGA (albeit in a very close game) and a Vanderbilt team that has lost to Georgia State 2 games ago. Vanderbilt comes out and completely outperforms the #1 team in the country. Bama never has a lead. Bama is getting pushed around on the lines of scrimmage. Vanderbilt doesn’t even have 25% of their crowd cheering for them at a home game. It’s all Bama fans. That’s why this game is being called the greatest upset of all time. Of course it’s subjective and not every one will agree, but that’s what does the label justice for me.
@@evanwilliams8627 I completely understand where you’re coming from and I get it, but here’s my rebuttal to it. This Vandy team is still much better than the ones of previous years. They’ve shown vast improvement. And now let’s go back to 2007 when Stanford beat USC. The Trojans were ranked #2 in the country and were playing a Stanford team that was considered arguably the worst Power 5 team the previous year and that year as well. Well Stanford won on the road despite USC being favored by 42 points. So that’s another example of what I would call a bigger upset
Shockingly, it’s probably not Alabama’s worst upset loss. In 1981, a Bear Bryant-led team that finished in the top ten lost to Georgia Tech. I should mention Georgia Tech went 1-10 that year.
Biggest? That would be Appalachian State (then an FCS team!) beating Michigan at the "Big House" in 2007. That loss still reverberates through collage football even now.
As a proud Uconn Student I am glad that Vandy had this win. They were down here in the fucking Trenches with us but 2 years ago contending with us to be the worst D-1 team. Glad to see them rise to the top. Hopefully UConn figure it out soon as well.

Vandy's coaching staff prepared and outcoached Bama (specially the OC). Bama didnt lose this one, they got beat. That aside, Roll Tide. 4 other top 11 teams lost so we still have a seat on the table if we pick our heads out of our @$$3s. All credit to Vandy on the win

It’s certainly an upset but biggest of all time is a stretch at best it’s not even the biggest of the season
Being a UW fan, seeing Kaleb Debour lose like that was so funny
And it’s funny seeing all the Bama fans calling for him to be fired already. You wanted him? You can keep him. 🤣
Everyone talking about the number of Vandy fans vs Bama fans - Vanderbilt's enrollment is 12,000. My community college has 15,000.
This is sort of random but it Blows my mind.. There is a community college in florida (miami dade community college) has 174,000 students. Which is double the size of the next biggest community college (lone star community in houston, has 90,000)
In the missou game it started raining right before Vandy kicked that last field goal in 2OT
I’m a TN born raised Tide fan but you better know I was standing up screaming for Vandy watching this game proudest moment of my life 🎉
heck yeah!
Love your videos!
Washington fans are now Vanderbilt fans
Why would Washington hate bama, did 2016 mean that much
@@JesusisLord756 Deboer? Who've been living under a rock?
@@JesusisLord756 read an ESPN article before commenting on this type of video good lord
On one hand, screw you guys for rooting against us. On the other hand, thank you guys for smacking down Michigan.
@@antipro85 I know about deboer but why would they hate them even more now, wouldn't it be nice to see a coach who left you in the dust lose so badly, I'm just confused
Amazing editing and love it
as a bama fan. if we blitzed more often, and didnt arm tackle to try and strip the ball, we would have been fine. offense had hiccups early but got better later. ever since second half of georgia game we stopped blitzing and it almost cost us the game last week, and DID cost us the game this week
THANK YOU for following my request.
That 4th and one touchdown is the play of the season
The Triple Option + TOs (including a Pick 6) combined with massively overlooking your opponent is a recipe for disaster.
I’ve been waiting for this video
8:18 bro went flying 😭🙏
As a UW Husky fan, seeing Deboer lose to freaking VANDY was the highlight of my day.
Thanks for beating u of m 🙏 😂
@@laboisicIt’s a shame we couldn’t do it in the Natty but, oh well. I have no hatred for Michigan, and their fans are cool people (at least the ones not chronically online lol).
Why, he got the best job offer in all of football and took it.
@@robertmcnearny9222I don’t blame him for making a business decision. But you can’t expect me to root for him to succeed, especially coaching for a fanbase as spoiled as Alabama. Also everyone wins when Alabama loses.
@@georgelucas2571 huskies really tripped over themselves at every opportunity. so many flags, i was at the apple cup and im headed to the UCLA game. Canada huskies fan!
This is not the biggest upset in history though. App State (who was fcs at the time) beating #5 Michigan is. Vandy is still a power 4 team, just one of the bad ones
Stanford beating usc in 2007 is my top pick
Fair, however, Bama was #1 and Vandy hadn't beat them in 40 years. A bit more epic than App State and Michigan
@@antipro85App State was Fcs at the time
App State over Michigan is a much bigger upset than this
Meh
@@rphntw1n You don’t know ball kid
@@SW.Productionsyou don’t know ball is one of the dumbest phrases I’ve ever read.
@@frankf684 In what world is an 2-2 SEC team beating a 4-0 SEC team a bigger upset than a top ranked team losing to an FCS school? App State was an FCS school when that upset happened
I was in high school the last time Vanderbilt beat Alabama. Dude, I am getting old…
As a UGA Fan this brightens my day! Vandy made #13 act like a spoiled little child at the end of the game!
As a UGA fan, you should be wanting good things for 'Bama. The CT getting flat out beat by Vandy lowers the quality your loss.
This was such an amazing video wtf
"Biggest upset..." Appalachian State would like a word.
This was a really good upset, but as an ASU alumni, 19-0 baby! Being on campus during that season was magical. ☺️
It’s not the biggest upset ever App state was still d1 AA and beat the favorite to win the natty in 2007 😂
Great video! ✌️🇺🇸🫡🫡
That 23 game losing streak actually goes back to 1985 since they have been in opposite divisions since Arkansas and South Carolina joined the SEC in the 90s
The game where App State beat Michigan will always be the biggest upset! Go Mountaineers
As a Bama fan I'm disappointed for last week's loss. Years ago Nick Also underappreciated Utah and We know how that ended. He didn't have kind words for Brock Purdy either. Clearly, Nick is a Hell of Motivator.
This must be one of the best things about being an Alabama fan...just how crazy people go when they beat you.
Well, it's about time! I've often thought that Vanderbilt was unworthy to be in the SEC, it's good to see that they proved they belong.
Let’s get this right off the bat. This is NOT the biggest upset in college football history. That still goes to App State over Michigan. And there are plenty more upsets like Montana over Washington in 2021 that I can think of
Nah
Washington went 4-8 that year not that big of an upset.
App St upsetting Michigan will always be the biggest upset
I AGREE!
I stand in my house trapped by hurricane Helene and thank god got wifi to watch this history
That weirdo at the end of the video will forever be remembered as that weirdo.
As soon as the commentators started comparing the Vandy QB to Manziel, I started thinking to myself "Ahh shit, here we go again."
Shockingly, it’s probably not Alabama’s worst upset loss. In 1981, a Bear Bryant-led team that finished in the top ten lost to Georgia Tech. I should mention Georgia Tech went 1-10 that year.
Imo Alabama didnt worry about anybody other than georgia and only prepared for georgia
Biggest? That would be Appalachian State (then an FCS team!) beating Michigan at the "Big House" in 2007. That loss still reverberates through collage football even now.
How does it still reverberate?it has no lasting impact on the sport.
App State won the FCS championship that year. They were a good team.
I always bet a quarter on the underdog. To say this least, this win paid off all other past underdog bets lol
We need a mvos vid on this game
This is why I love college football!
Not only did Saban say Vandy was the only easy place to play, he took off the red bama tie.
You should do a video on the oregon state vs colorado state double OT from yesterday that nobody's talking about
Nobody cares
As a proud Uconn Student I am glad that Vandy had this win. They were down here in the fucking Trenches with us but 2 years ago contending with us to be the worst D-1 team. Glad to see them rise to the top. Hopefully UConn figure it out soon as well.
Being a bama fan is as annoying as saying “Tom Brady’s my favorite quarterback” “the chiefs are my favorite team” “Jon jones and Connor mcgregor my favorite fighters” so seeing them lose to the absolute bottom of the SEC. Heartwarming
Still not bigger than App State Michigan...
I think app at beating Mich is a bigger upset than vandy bama. At least they’re in the same conferen 😊
Tv 📺 sale went through the roof after this one lol
That roughing call was still mind baffling. He barely touched him
Always happy to see a narcissistic team lose
I been avoiding this video for a week ☠️
Vandy's coaching staff prepared and outcoached Bama (specially the OC). Bama didnt lose this one, they got beat. That aside, Roll Tide. 4 other top 11 teams lost so we still have a seat on the table if we pick our heads out of our @$$3s. All credit to Vandy on the win
Damn, Nick have them the kiss of death endorsement. Damn
