The amount of detail this guy somehow remembers 20 years after the fact, that most people wouldn’t recall from a year ago, is enough proof. In my business, we call that first incident the “Lethal Weapon Affect”. Hollywood has trained a certain segment of the population, which can include LEO, to scream “GUN!” and go absolutely bonkers at the slightest interaction with a firearm. In LEO it’s usually rookies. Fear of being shot is not unjustified as a police officer, but the chances of police dying in a vehicle crash are almost as great, and in 2020 at least, death due to COVID-19 among police was about four times the shooting death rate. It doesn't seem that the "warrior" mindset is good for the public or the police.

You’re right. I used to be a big police supporter. The past year has proven that they will enforce any unconstitutional law the higher ups tell them. Just a matter of time they’ll be trying to go door to door taking away peoples 2nd amendment rights. Especially in big democrat states.

This man is one of the best story tellers I've ever heard. I honestly don't know if I believe a word of it, but he's so good, I don't care whether it's true!
I see a lot of compliments on Chris's narrarative abilities, and always a lot of "he's full of it" comments to those. I grew up out in the country, old fixer uppers and micheif. While city kids learned how to keep their Nikes shiny, country kids were learning how to hit road signs with beer bottles over top from the other side of the cab. I have either done myself or been envolved with stories that would rival Chris's, there is just no way I could tell them as eloquent. Ever unbolt and put the hood of your 1980s ford in the bed, so your buddy could lay across the engine dripping gas into the carb from a pepsi bottle, (back in the days when they were glass, no easy squeezy squirt), when you climb one last hill because your fuel pump went out? Then coasting three miles closer to home, with the lights off, to park in a neighbor's yard so your fishing gear don't get stolen? There's more, thing is we never even thought anything of it at the time, it was just "will it maybe work" "try it". Ever show someone where you wrecked by driving through the same ditch "wrecking" in the same manner at the same speed as you did it accidentally? He's got some yarns, embellished, maybe, I dunno, but they are plausible, and they entertain me.
Rick I have never had a commenter who describes country life as accurately and as well as you. I can tell from your examples that you’re speaking truth, because we can’t make this stuff up! Thanks for watching and taking the time to share such cool stories.

Later in life I heard quotes from philosophers and wisemen that they just don't teach in public schools anymore, like "Necessity is the mother of invention." and the "Only sure way to fail, is not to try.", heck, bumpkins already knew them, we just never seen them in print. "Now we know that won't work" can be a valuable thing. Forgive me I'm going to ramble, but I got to say it. Probably the longest, but hopefully one of the best compliments you'll get today. There's a quality that comes out in your stories, a to each their own, live and let live, civility and respect, regardless of station or entitlement, to people with nothing more in common with you than wearing shoes somedays. Man, there are a whole lot of people in this world just drooling for the chance to be wronged so they can "righteously" be a jackass demanding it be made right, and tell the whole world about both ends of it. I see it in life, and I see it on here. I mean don't take me wrong, there are times when good ole sulfur and brimstone vengence is required, and there are bad people out there who will earn it from good ones at times. There's just so much of it that is just so petty. Aside from the dollar at the expense of others, (and I'm no communist, cronies in suits to the guy with a ski mask, and a whole book in between, everyone else, the majority "value adding" earning it is excluded), not forgiving trespasses, not loving your neighbor, is the most common sin I see in the world. I don't even mean that in a thumpin' Bibles sense. "I appreciate how layed back you are", does not do justice to the appreciation for the absence of spite, greed, snobbery, and judgement you present. The stories are funny s**t too. :) I don't know if they are commentary, comedy, or philosophy.
