Blind taste test where you have to guess the name of weird flavored chips or ice cream or bubbly water something 😋
I still would love to see a milk alternatives taste test, maybe a ranking like you did with the macaroni? There are a LOT of milk alternatives like cashew, soy, almond, rice, pea protein, etc. milk. Also (this is kind of random but) what about making pavlova Great British Baking style? It’s not too hard and it’s delicious! It’s basically meringue with whipped cream and fruit, and you could have fun decorating and experimenting with different fruits!
What about a blind taste test of genetic versus name brand to see if you can tell the difference? You could do different themes like soft drinks, condiments, cereal, etc.
I love watching your styling videos and little food tights. Also, I always love a cameo from Brie!
If Jen is okay with it, perhaps a talk about getting Dustin back to full health? I can't help but remember how that pup first looked when he showed up on video, and it's literally like night and day. He looks so healthy and happy now!
I'm literally eating the ube pancakes as I watch this. I don't know what strange technique Jen employed to make these pancakes, but they will look like a normal, if slightly purple pancake if you follow typical pancake cooking protocol.

It reminds me of the nasty salami sandwich this guy in one of my creative writing classes wrote about. It was purposefully written as the most rancid gross sounding semi meat material ever and this is very much what I imagined it to look like.

The raspberries are great to throw into sweet cereal or oatmeal, then the tartness becomes its greatest asset

I never shopped at Trader Joe’s before about a month ago (life changing) but still always watched your TJ vids and now I can finally go with expert knowledge of new products! Winning!
So, the chocolate covered honeycomb is supposed to be a riff on a Buffalo, NY fave, called sponge candy!
When you get fresh sponge candy in Buffalo, it’s airy and delightful.
It was introduced to me as seafoam candy! I would guess that if you go into it thinking about real honey it could lead to missed expectations, which is too bad because it is indeed delightful
I always get sad when I see people try honeycomb candy and expect real honeycomb. I was introduced to violet crumble, which is an Australian candy, decades back in high school and absolutely love it. If it’s stale, it can become rock hard, so I understand Kristin thinking it’s like biting into concrete. It should crumble the second you bite it if it’s good.

For the ube mochi pancakes, it’s 5000% better as a waffle. It’s crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.

If you refrigerate the Mini Chocolate Mousse Flowers the mousse solidifies and tastes way less sweet. I don’t know why I’m not a scientist! Just my observation I get those every year for my mom’s birthday.

I looooove the protein chocolate muffin cup. I'd recommend trying it again but actually measuring the water out. I've tried mixing it with milk and it really works best with water.

I work the salad station at my restaurant, we've got regulars that get what Ive dubbed the Bad Breath salad... a small Caeser with triple dressing on the salad, dressing on the side, add feta and onions. A part of me dies every time i make it.

OH MY GOD DID THEY BRING BACK THE FREEZE DRIED FRUITS?! i used them to make jelly fillings in my pastries (thanks nancy from gbbo for the idea!) without sogging down the pastry!
AHHHH I HOPE OUR TRADER JOE'S HAVE THEM AGAIN THEY'VE BEEN SO HARD TO FIND ELSEWHERE LAKJDLFKJSD
fyi how i do it: SIMPLE. crush the freeze dried berries into tiny pieces. add some granulated sugar. slightly less than 1 to 1 in terms of proportions. mix it thoroughly. sprinkle it on laminated croissant dough. roll up the croissant. bake.
once they're done, boom, inside is a light and tasty jelly that didn't prevent the pastry from cooking bc of the high water content. fuck yeah. it's DELICIOUS. (water & butter from the pastry melts the fruit/sugar mixture making it sticky again, & that plus sugar plus dried fruit basically rehydrates it & recreates the fruit/jelly taste).
i haven't been able to make them in years bc i couldn't find the freeze dried fruits/berries.
i also cannot vouch for this technique working with ANY other kind of pastry dough. the high water/fat (butter) content of puff pastry & rough puff pastry is what makes this work. anything less would not work.
so if you use a heavily buttery pie crust, this could go as the bottom layer of a pie, perhaps. it'd have to mix w the other filling, too.
this could ALSO work as a morning roll (basically cinnamon roll without the cinnamon) filling. you'd just add the butter for the filling in with the crushed berries & sugar (&any other spices or flavorings you want). bet that'd be delicious. a little less substantial than cinnamon roll filling bc that shit has the cinnamon & brown sugar to bulk up into a texture, whereas the fruit & white/granulated sugar would have a harder time. so adding something bulker (perhaps even brown sugar) would help it stay in the rolls and not melt out. hm. worth experimenting with, now.
and would probably still taste AMAZING w cream cheese frosting. lol

I absolutely agree on the mug muffin. I couldn't make it work, and I tried. I am not sure even the perfect preparation could save it!

I usually use oat milk instead of water for the mug cakes. I get the kodiak protein muffin/flapjack cups a lot and this tastes really similar but the rubbery texture is definitely hard to avoid if you let it cool down all the way.
Jorn, besides adding color, you can pulverize those freeze dried sou--er, raspberries and use to flavor frosting. Especially if you thing American buttercream is too sweet.
I tried the other version of the microwave mug cake a few years back and, even if you follow directions, same result. Blech.

In my opinion, cooking anything in the microwave is going to mess up the texture. I’m not saying the muffin wasn’t messed up because of the amount of water but it was definitely doomed from the start.
The lemon flower cookies are SO GOOD! They should absolutely be in the “really great” category.

Hi! I pretty much never comment on anything because I'm the most anxious person in the world, but my soul is telling me I have to, so here goes. I love y'alls channel! I love that y'all talk about things going on in your lives that nobody else talks about. It makes one feel less alone during those struggle bus moments. Oh, by the way, this comment has nothing to do with the subject of this video and everything to do with what Kristin is wearing (not in a creepy way!). I started watching this video and lost focus on the food. I literally broke down on my couch and started sobbing and couldn't figure out why. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. The bright colors. I used to wear bright colors...but I got so many comments that black was much more slimming. I used to wear tank tops and shorts and dresses....but I got so many comments that if I just covered up more, I wouldn't look as fat. Eventually the color drained from my wardrobe. At some point I stopped wearing the red lipstick and the fun makeup because if I didn't draw attention to my face maybe no one would notice my double chin or chubby cheeks. And now everything I wear is black, my makeup is basic nudes, and I blend into every background for fear that my fat my offend someone's eyes. So, today, I watched this video and saw a person that's shaped like me wearing the brightest colors! The most awesome red graphic dress I've ever seen, bright red lips and matching eyeliner and doing the opposite of blending in. As I watched, my brain mourned the loss of bright colors in my life and brought me to tears. This realization was everything! I picked myself up and decided I'm going to wear the red dress and do fun makeup. I going to do this because nobody has the right to take colors away from me. The shape of my body does not condemn me to dress like I'm at a funeral. I know this is a fun food video, but just know that this particular fun food video helped someone. Thank you Kristin, for always being your authentic self, so that I can now go find my own authentic self again. PS-Video Idea? A tutorial on how you do your makeup?

I love your videos and will continue to watch them- but this is the third video where I have to say I disagree with some of your reviews. Those honeycrisp chocolate bites are sooo yummy. They are sweet with a burnt honey taste. I opened the bag after dinner and my whole family stole a few pieces. We all agree it’s delicious!!!
I agree! I was so bummed when they said they didn’t like it very much. 🥲 Though I can understand that the smaller pieces have a slightly more uneven ratio of chocolate to the honey candy, so maybe they only tried those?
