I've just upgraded from Jades to Navys on my keyboard I used for work. It's like a whole new workout. My finger will grow 6-packs in the next few weeks.
@@unzkipriime4283 when I first ordered the click Bar switches I wanted to go for Box Whites. But before the order was shipped I changed my mind and opted for a somewhat heavier switch. Frankly just be cause I felt like it. I have fat hands... soooo.... I went for the Jades instead. And after over a year I wanted to try out other clickies. The reviews on the Clickiez were mixed and I didn't want to revert to click jackets. I was happy with the Jades weighting so I went with heavier instead of lighter switches. And from Jades there is only one option upwards the spring weighting ladder.
@@unzkipriime4283 I play on them as well. But not competitive online games. And I have a noise cancelling headset that works pretty fine. 90% is work and typing. 10% is gaming. But I play "retro games" mostly action RPGs and stuff where you don't need an immense amount of concentration. So basically I'm not a good reference when it comes to playing games. And yes. I think that playing on Kailh Speed Copper or Feker Pandas feels better than on the Navies and Jades.
A great video my friend. Fun fact: they're called box which is not because of the box shaped stem but because the leaf spring assembly is enclosed inside of that white box on the inside of the switch; which is why it needs that little green piece to actually actuate the spring inside of the box.
Clicky gang here and I loved the sound from these switches. I kinda prefer jades or pinks cuz they're lighter but it's still a much more improvement over mx blues/greens or any other clicky switches that uses a click jacket. Much less rattle and the tactility is much better imo. ^^ Oh yea and I think why ppl kinda hate on clicky switches is because they mostly hear the ones ones from mx blues or listening to any click bar switches without comparing to mx blues and just assumes that they sounded the same.
I totally agree, DEFINITELY an improvement over mx blues/greens. The click bar gives a nice tactility that's much more satisfying than the click jacket. I recently tried some kailh sages as well and they were not good at all, in my opinion. I have some jades, and the spring weight is much more comfortable to me compared to navies.
@@clackattackofficial Oh yea, I still yet to grab those sage switches for my collection cuz I'm collecting every single clicky switches in the market that's uses MX-Mount. Currently have 21 different clicky switches and so far, my favs are Arctic Fox switches. Their sound profile is much deeper than box jades/navies and it's a bit louder. If you can still tolerate how loud the jades/navies are at that point, I highly recommend trying the arctic foxes out! White owl switches is also an option as well cuz their sound profile is between Arctic foxes and Box Jades/Navies.
@@basilp5179 that's true, I really wanted to get into skcm Ambers and blues for my future builds. Just that it's really hard and expensive to find. ;~;
These are some great switches for an ultra-retro build, with tall rounded caps and a metal wraparound case for maximum click. That’s my idea endgame clicky build lmao
3:07 Chad-bars vs Virgin-jackets. Your keycaps and case do a lot of work to make blues sound decent. In normal condition blues are much much more high pitched than what was recorded here.
hahahahah true. they might *sound* decent but they feel completely different than the navies. I also like that the click bar gives it a click on the way up AND down, while the jacket only really gives a "click" on the way down
@@cosmic_gate476 once you start lubing switches you don't want to go back to using them dry. Cheap gamer boards are all using dry ones. You need to get like epomaker or aula to get cheap board with prelubed switches.
This switch is obviously not for normal typing. But it is a interesting option if you use a small macro keypad for extra functions. I am making a stock trading keypad and I want the Buy and Sell buttons to be heavier.
Not into clicky switches but I put these Box Navy's on special keys like Esc, PrintSreen etc. just for the lulz and because they are the loudest I tested ^_^
I have Keychron V1 with Gateron Yellow Pros and I'm thinking of getting some of those Navy for specific keys like Esc and Home just so I can have some nice clicky experience now and then.
Currently on a Keychron Q8 alice layout. Have been using cherry mx red, blue, brown before on cheap entry level boards Swapped the stock kailh red from the Q8 to the box navys. God heavens, the click is sharp, pronounced and tactile to the max. Unusable anywhere besides home or your own office, because of the noise My fingers do get tired after 1-2 hrs of typing, but it never became problematic I use the same keyboard for gaming and after some time, you get used to it. Not perfect though, have to be honest
i am absolutely in love with my kailh navy keyboard, mainly because im such a heavy typer, i practically slam my fingers into my keyboards (popped off a couple of laptop membrane keycaps because of it!), so the heavy actuation is a plus for me :'-D
Ordered those along, with my Epomaker TH80 Pro Budgerigar switches. Keyboard already arrived, and it is thocky out of the box. I wonder, how they would feel when navy blues arrive.
Literally play call of duty w these on a 65 percent custom I for some reason don't find them fatiguing for typing or gaming and I play for hours I fell in love with jades at first but they have a weak return and I wasn't compromising the think click bar or that sharp tactility so I went with jades and those and glorious pandas are end game for me
In navy gang too from today) at first seems a little bit too much after gateron blues, but with shitty keycaps, and of course it needs some time to get used to. But the sound... Guys... I was never pay attention to that, but they are SOLID! gaterons blue sound like annoying bee after them.
Use o-rings on them, they feel INCREDIBLE! It makes them feel like really low actuation force, because you’re expecting to press the keys deeper, but they still give the super crisp loud, thick clicks.
Thank You! Compared to other switches, the tactility is pretty strong in my opinion. That being said, it's a different tactility than your traditional tactile switch. The heavy spring weight along with the thick click bar gives it a pretty unique feel, and there were times where i would press the switch but i didn't give it enough force to get past the tactile event and actually activate the switch.
They are quite heaviest clickies you can get off shelf without playing spring swap. In my experience they feel bit heavier than buckling springs but unilke buckling springs you can lube springs without getting noticeable change in tactility of switch. I used them stock and they have disgusting amount of noise caused by unlubricated springs and that is what you need to remove just like stabilizer rattle to get only desirable noise from clickbars. Btw if you get bored and you have switch opener you can remove clickbars and get very heavy almost linear switch.
Nice vid! I have Box Jade’s, but I’ve always wondered about the Navy’s. The absurd heavy weight seems like too much though. I already find the Box Navy’s a little fatiguing at times
Came today to navys from my first ever mechanical gateron blues. Damn, seems a little bit tough and hard to press) and i used to type on an old typewriter in my childhood))) but its with crappy oem keycaps, waiting for sa keycaps now.
I actually switched from Gateron Blues to these. I prefer them than the standard blues. Yes they are heavier but I found it way too easy to accidentally press keys by accident with the standard blues.
