    Hello everyone 👋, how's it going? I know everyone's going to ask me, "where's the Ostapenko/Tomljanović drama?", "where's the grass court drama?" etc. I've compiled the clips for them but I'm not allowed to release the compilations yet for reasons I can't get into. But I will release them eventually. Until then, I hope you can still enjoy this video. Apologies 🙏.

    8:45 sorry Petko, the call DID come after she made contact with the ball. Not by much, but it was after. This was actually a great call by the chair umpire. Honestly, a lot of these calls the benefit of the doubt is given to the player when it really shouldn't. Calls often don't impact the player when they are in return to a short bouncing/deep ball. Umpire got this one right, and credit to him for having the guts to make the call. A lot of chair umpires would have replayed the point cause it would be the "safer" decision.
    Coach: "It was way before your shot"...no it wasn't. AND credit to the commentator for correctly backing the chair umpire. It was absolutely the correct call!

      Sorry, but you're so wrong. Serve clock was started way too early. Serve clock was started before Yastremska was ready to serve. As you might have noticed, Yastremska was hurrying when she put on her sweatband. Also because of COVID-19 in that tournament players had to go to their towels. There weren't any personal to give them towel. Because towel stand was quite far from where Yastremska was standing, it took her time to even get to towel stand and then to clean her face. 16:30 okay yes he slowed down a little bit, but not enough to be considered stopping the point. Taking a split second to look at where the ball landed is normal on clay because there is no electronic review. I absolutely feel it was correct for play to continue. Yes he slowed down a bit, but he did not stop abruptly, he didn't say anything, he didn't raise his hand or finger to indicate it was out, he just slowed a bit. Again, that is not uncommon.

Chair umpire also ignored double bounce rule. Ball already bounced twice when Kalinina got to it. So it wasn't let, it was Collin's winner. Everything was done so that Collins lost that match. Umpire simply wanted Kalinina to win.

      Collins was completely wrong about the let call. If the ball girl prematurely runs to retrieve the ball, that's a let every single time. No arguing about that. She's mad that they have to replay the point but rules are rules

    • @seangates900
      @seangates900 2 года назад

      She didn't run forward. Okay, the ball girl was early, but she was only edging in that direction. No more effort from Kalinina than the ball girl. It's marginal at best. If you're Danielle's opponent, you run up to that ball, and then maybe if you don't get there, you plead that case. But that shouldn't have had to have been Danielle's to plead.

      @@RobRossiFan This isn't a misunderstanding of the rules, the CU is stating that Petko hit the ball prior to the call, if true, she should lose the point no matter what. In this case, it really sounds like it happened during her shot, which should be a replay. However, if he said, "her shot was so good that all you could do was e a forced error no matter what," that is a better argument. Similarly to when a powerful serve is called out but overruled, yet tipped by the returner, the returner still loses the point rather than replaying it.

    En el caso de Ruse contra Petkovic, sí tenemos una buena decisión del juez de silla. Ruse lanza un winner, el línea canta out, el silla canta correction, y Petkovic intenta devolver la bola pero se queda en la red. El hecho de que la devolución de Petkovic se quede en la red, implica que si la corrección es buena, el punto es directo para Ruse; Si la pelota que intenta devolver Petkovic hubiera entrado en la pista contraria, la corrección del silla sólo podría implicar la repetición del punto si está en lo cierto y la pelota es buena, y en caso de fallar pues evidentemente punto para Petko por bola out de Ruse. Aquí el silla está muy bien.

    • @plalondecai
      @plalondecai 2 года назад +1

      Además el canto de out del línea que luego es corregido, es posterior a la respuesta de Petko, así que ni siquiera tiene Andrea la posibilidad de decir que no devolvió bien la bola porque le despistó el canto del línea, ella golpea primero, y lo hace de manera insuficiente en el intento de devolver la bola a la pista contraria, por tanto no cabe discusión. A pesar de esto, se recomienda siempre que se devuelva toda bola dudosa canten lo que canten los líneas, porque la excusa de que el canto de out fue primero antes que el golpeo de devolución, no tiene por qué justificar la mala devolución, aunque a menudo en estas polémicas es a lo que se agarran los tenistas.
