I was a CNC EDM machinist in life and yes I'm very interested in seeing how this works. Most of my EDM machining work was done in the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s until I got hit by a car which put me out of commission. I will be watching your shows to see how this works. Sinker machine I would like to see die steel die making for forming and coining dies with die steels.
Hey what’s up Tucker! I remember our conversation about restoring old machines and how you want to get a Bridgeport. I could tell you are very passionate about this trade! Thanks for checking out the channel 👍🏼
I’m not a guy in the industry just a mechanically inclined guy who is interested in this tech and first and foremost the USA becoming a place where things are made again... THANKS FOR WHAT YOU DO TITAN. 🙏🏻🇺🇸👏🏻
Awesome… Your welcome. It’s been a long journey and now I am blessed to have such a tremendous team that allows us to do all on the highest levels. God Bless Brother, Titan
I used to think EDM was just dance music, was always confused by it... have been loving the series on these machines, really cool to see how they make various parts.
Nice machine! I’m excited for the addition of EDM tutorials on the Academy! Titan and Trevor are taking manufacturing education to the next level, Boom!
Such a cool machine! I’d like to see a comparison of a part you could mill, but is made more efficiently with EDM. Stats like time/material saved and surface finish. 😎💪
As an old F&M '88 qualified ... I could've never imagined the gear you guys show here. The environment where the trades are so 'rockstar' nowadays is mind blowing. I have my trade and also followed with B. Civ.Eng. UQ ....kiddies my advice is do a trade and then skill up from there!! Don't trust universities straight from school to give you anything.
Excellent choice. Charmilles makes some great machines. I've been operating a variety of EDM machines for almost 30 years. Charmilles is definitely my favorite. We currently have 4 350s at our shop in Tempe. Absolutely love them. You guys should look into getting the optical probe option if you haven't already. It can greatly reduce setup time. Happy burning!
Very interesting , question what is the most speed cut you can have with this machine tools for steel ? , be cause at school we talk about EDM and EDM wire and he told that very slow to work , i use a EDM wire in my Higher study ,for me to create my molding in end of my study and in 3 min i have the 3 pieces of my mould.
Please, please, please make an electrode to cut a helix gear or a spline into carbide or something hard via sinker edm! You've finaly touched on gear machining, i could provide you a simple 3D model of a gear if you want. You've made a lot of crazy stuff, gears are the only thing left! Greets as allways ❤
Interstingly enough, im rebuilding an engine and i noticed the valve cover is all chewed up around the spark plug hole. Well oil used to get into that hole and the coil for the spark plug was leechimg electricity through the oil which ate at the metal cover
I'd like to see you sink threads inside and outside. A differential jackscrew would be really cool. Are there any modes where you can make a pocket in the x or y direction at the bottom or side of a hole?
Is that the permanent place for the wedm and sinker? It's pretty close to a mill, and vibration would be an issue, no matter how well the construction is of the machines. Or is it placed on a different floor section?
I thought those machines were not made any more didn’t know they still making them , I here we can’t get parts for the older ones so mostly everybody went to Mitsubishi, in the early 2000 , and they are awesome
Edm a 2 piece 0 tolerance cube where 1 piece slides into the other, but of 2 different materials so when the temperature isn't just right they do not fit together or do not come apart
P350 is what we use at my work has been very reliable, tool changer works quick and easy, bed very stable that thing is going nowhere and the controls are so easy to use
Let's see what EDM is all about. Burn 2 different shapes on 2 different sides of a block of inconel ,like some extrusion mold. Have one side square and the other squared or.......very motivating content Titan's. Thx and GL
Me and my colleague went out to a machine shop for capabilities audit not too long ago and saw one of these but the solution was like Nikolodeon slime green 😂
I would like to see a EDM rifle barrel with rifling if it's even possible. Some how I feel like it has got to be better than traditional methods, accuracy wise and send it to Eric Cortina for testing.
I've been programming and working with 3-axis and 4-axis CNC milling machines at my internship I have had, what is the use case of this Sinker EDM machine that a regular CNC milling machine could not do?
regular milling machine will always leave some rads on sharp corners and sometimes when cutting molds for thin walled plastic products also need edm cutting.
EDM, 3DPrinting, CNCs, etc, tools of the trade, the more you have, the more you can use, the more you're desired, because the more you can do, for others.
Do any machines leave? It seems like new machine day every week! That has to be good for business because they are constanly expanding their capabilities?
New To EDM it's all new and fascinating would like to see what they can and can't do, make something that would be difficult with normal machines - thanks
I kind of wonder how possible it is to make an internal/external feature on a sinker EDM like as a thread. Of course making a thread on an EDM isn't as practical, but what about some other feature like it
It’s possible to make threads on sinker but diamond threadmill is a little more practical. Helical gears can be burnt on a sinker which you might be interested to see
700K more subs 2 get a mill no one else deserves more than TITANs, I've used a c-axis that had only 2&1/2 deg increments, Bringing state of the ART is magic & only through TITANS of CNC
Dang... You guys are going to need a larger building lol. Going to have to pass by again to check all of those new machines out and to finger print Jessie's flag again 😂. Always a good Saturday morning when I have my Titans Of CNC Video fix. Looking forward to more content. Much love and gratitude to the entire team over there.
If you plan on coming over and messing with Jessie then I’ll fund your travel expenses 😆 Thanks for the support Tony, we’d love to have you come by for another visit!

I learned on Charmilles Roboform 400's while I was Pratt & Whitney's e.d.m. die sinker guru for over a decade.
Yeah those are great machines from what I’ve heard 👍🏼
I learned on a Mits EA12V but I can’t wait to truly put this thing to the test.

ONA is a good machine for large work but we wanted something that was insanely fast and accurate so we upgraded and got an AgieCharmilles from GF!

Ah, now I see you ditched it for the GF one.
What will they think of next. Cutting with electricity. This technology is way above the normal. Who comes up with these ideas.
