I know Emmett's mother blamed herself for the rest of her life for his passing. I wish the uncle had more courage but he was scared himself. And the worse part is nobody went to jail for Emmetts murder. What a country.

nowadays, you can be in the car with someone who decides to murder another person & you can easily be charged for the death of the person they killed and the death of the person you’re in the car with if they do happen to die even if you weren’t involved in the incident . that should apply here in my opinion .

My grandmother told me about this when I was a child. It struck me to my core. I'm 47 now, still strikes me to my core.
I had to find the story by myself as an adult, being born years after it happened. I believe these stories were hidden from us as children in the 60's. All I knew then was unrest, riots on the black & white tv news. Then King/Malcolm/JFK/RFK. It was a palpable undercurrent.
When I think of Ahmad Aubrey I think of Emmet Till. The only difference is, Emmet never recieved justice.
Emmett Tills was torchered also, he suffered a more agonizing death than Ahmaud. What they did to Emmett i can't begin to visualize someone doing to an innocent person let alone a child.

I heard some interviews saying that some people claimed to hear his screams during the tragedy. That goes through my mind about how what was he thinking and feeling while in that car…
I'm sure that haunted his mom as well!! She probably wondered what her son went through...who could ever not wonder about that smh!! They showed woman saying...."I feel bad for her, but they're portraying us as savages." What was that for her idiotic, backwood, dumb behind to say smh!!

Actually I saw the documentary Spike Lee did on Emmitt Tills story, which after this series is one if the best one to cover the story, a female neighbor did suggested that Emmitt to be put in a trai asap back home to Chicago..I don't remember what happened after but someone did metion it. At least it would have been the " smartest " thing to do at that time!
Most killers will leave the family alone if they don't get the person they initially wanted . But again whos to say what would have been in the minds of those 2 white men if they didn't get Emmitt
Such a gruesome story. His mother was so strong for letting the world see her baby and what happened to him. America deserved to be rocked and shook up by his story. The humanity within us must witness the atrocities brought on by the hatred of other races. Emmett will be forever remembered in history may he rest although his murderers lived freely. Its so morbid to consider just how many children and families lived through suffrage such as this at the hands of ignorance and hatred.
I bet Mrs. Mamie Till had some choice words for her family as well.. Gun or not, they let a 14yr old boy have to fend for himself against those men.
If you think Emmett Till's story is sad, look into the story about his dad! His dad, Louis Till was lynched 10 years before Emmett was murdered!
I just watched another documentary about Emmett, what he said… “ his father was a service man in Italy, and raped and Italian woman.” Only God knows how true this is.
Absolutely terrible 😢. This story made me so depressed. I did not see pictures of the young man’s remains, but the murder of this child is so disturbing. We will have to constantly meditate on Bible verses to heal from this awful event. I don’t think I can handle watching the movie. 😭 😭

Lord, Lord, Lord! So much evil in the world. The fifties wasn't long ago. Whether you were born then or grew up during that period, you remember all the Emmett Tills. This effects you and how you move through this life. That trauma is handed down. Our people are strong and we need a healing. It's complicated. Everyone involved: jurors, judge, sheriff, defense attorneys made sure it was their “Anglo-Saxon” duty to set these men free. I was born sixteen years after this all happened and did not know about it until I was a young adult and had to learn this on my own...for myself through reading books, etc... of course. I appreciate this heinous crime still not being swept under the rug after all of these years. It's become a part my own psyche and has been for decades. The boy as far as I'm concerned will never be forgotten. Such a huge lesson to learn from about "real" human and race relations in the U.S. then and NOW!

I have one question. Why didn't they return Emmit home when that happened at the store. Why did they let him stay Mississippi? They should have made him go home. This is what I don't understand.
Because when the situation at the store happened the boys never told their uncle or anyone what happened. The day it happened their uncle told them to not go into town which they did anyways. The uncle or grandfather never knew about the incident until the night they came to the uncle's house and took emmitt till. After he was snatched his cousins then told what had happened.

The cousins probably wanted Emmet til to stay just in case they came for him, which they did so that it would not had been one of them that would be taken
One of the cousins was a twelve year old, he didn’t know any better and he was probably scared to tell his dad what happened

Dam his mom was beautiful and he’s was a handsome boy. That picture when she was younger and he was a baby reminds me of my son. I wouldn’t have the strength to forgive anyone who hurts my child that’s just me I will hunt them and kill them myself. I remember when I first heard of this story in High School it broke my heart I cried.
I cannot imagine what that child went through! It makes me very angry thinking about it. It's a VERY sad case. His mother had to be heartbroken until her passing. 😢 Emmett's mother was an absolutely beautiful woman. Poor family. May they RIP 🙏

Cuz maybe he could of gotten Emmett out of there and got him back home… all I know is that Emmett mother was one of the strongest women i ever seen. And I’m glad she showed the world what they did to her son. They did not have to kill him and torture him like that. But wether their dead or alive . All involved with get what they deserve…..
Poor Emmett was an innocent boy. He did not deserve to be treated the way he was treated. He did not do anything to his accusers. He was completely innocent!!! Emmett Till, you will NEVER be forgotten!

Freaking grown a** men went like monsters to bully, beat and kill a young boy and they walked around like they were real men?!!! The disgusting wives that stood by their sides after the murder and that Caroline with no heart in her body can rott in hell. All of them monsters and anyone that took part in this tragic event. The President back then did not a darn thing to help bring justice during that period in time!!!! I cried for Emmitt and his Mom because I'm a mom of 3 sons and it tore me up inside. God bless the Till family!! I pray that the monsters that played a part in killing Emmitt still alive now in 2022-2023 will hopefully be charged in 2023!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌💫💫💫

Emmett was such a handsome young man. A kid. A FREAKING CHILD! He was a HUMAN! A son 😢I know his mama lives a tortured life. Who wouldn’t. She was a strong beautiful lady. Sickens me that no justice was EVER served for this family. If I’d been that woman that falsely accused him, I could NOT have lived my life knowing I was the reason that little boy suffered such violence. It would have haunted me and I’d have not slept because of the guilt. I hope she lived with it her entire life. Every min of every day. Such a shame.

I’m so sorry you had to live like this. Poor Emmitt my heart gut wrenching for his mom I couldn’t imagine what she went through and Emmitts beatings. From the bottom of my heart I’m so sorry and I think the woman who lied about Emmitt should be charged today .
