I thought i might be trippin, but turns out its true. I prefer this version of roxas's voice. It really delivers roxas' anguish through those battlecry :'

Sorry if this is a bit late. but it was actually a mistranslation. Roxas was supposed to say "Why did IT pick you?" referring to why the Keyblade chose him.

@marioman3424 I broke out of the combo either by manually recovering, or just being inactive from the combo. But actually, now that I look at it, it seems to be because the ability I had on only worked for combos. I think the ability Once More lets you survive a heavy hit, and the last move in Roxas's combo is surely a heavy hit. And, obviously being at around level 48, I wouldn't have both Second Chance and Once More unlocked.
@youdontneedone Well, the japanese version of most video games (especially the RPGs) usually have elements that consist of doing something over and over again for a really long time which gets removed for NA audiences. For example, Dissidia's 1 hour tutorial got chopped down to 15 minutes for NA. In the case of KH, the game REALLY makes people memorize boss patterns to the T. That's why people can beat the game at level 1. I've just played the NA one a lot. PS: This is only Proud Mode! :P
Some of the challenges were made harder in Final Mix, for example defeating Pete in the Underworld has been cut from 2 minutes to 90 seconds. I feel like everything has gotten harder even on Standard, either that or it's just been a while since I've played KHII. I got the game in English on my laptop
I think they made it harder because a lot of fans, including myself, found it much easier, even on proud mode. That's why they made things harder. There's also the new challenges such as Lingering Will, Garden of Assemblage, and the XIII Mushrooms. They also included some new abilities and prizes such as the Two Become One keyblade and the crowns Sora can wear. Also, there was Limit Form, which was a big help in hard boss battles.
You can make it easier by doing some safe, but slightly more boring tactics. Choosing the shield so that you get best defense, grinding out your drive forms for regular experience plus helpful movement options, trying to farm synthesis materials for decent gear earlier, so on and so forth. Plus, this looks like proud mode, so just play on standard if you're really scared, no shame in that.
@LordofDragns I'm working on it. I'll upload if I can ever beat Terra, in High Quality too I guess. I mean, who else is really gunna watch KH 2 vids in 2011 if nothing else stands out?
@Lpm1k3 If you have an old, "phat" PS2, you'll need to use the Swap Magic Disk with a specific "Slide Tool". If you have a newer PS2 that has the Flip Top, you'll need to take off the flip top and replace it with a different one with a unique design. Either way, you'll need to watch a tutorial on how to use it via RUclips, and adjust your PS2 in the way the tutorial says so. I can't explain all of it in one comment, so you'll need to search "Swap Magic Tutorial" in the search bar. Sorry. :(
Omfg all those deaths!! Lmaoo, sora's dying noise gets extremely annoying after you die like the 3rd time Btw, that time you died right when you tried to use the potion had me dying, that's happened way too many times to me and it's so frustrating! Good job on actually beating him though haha, I'm lv 54 on proud mode on the 2.5 remix, and I think I'm gonna go level up some more ._.
if you want to complete kingdom hearts 2 final mix like a boss you have to do it in critical mode. i'm playing it like that and it is the best way to play it trust me ;)

Uhh..no Roxas can remember mostly everything Ventus can because he's the from the side of Sora's heart that Ventus was stored in, which is also why he looks like Ventus and in the Xigbar boss battle Xigbar says;"You don't look like your half the hero the others were".which means the 3 characters were already planed out.
the line was mistranslated it was meant to be " why were you chosen", I don't think roxas knows who ventus is so he couldn't be referring to him. I think he said "oh that's why" because he saw sora and his friends that's why the keyblade chose sora
Actually, Roxas had no clue of Ventus' existence at this point. The three of them hadn't even been finished with character development by the time this game came out. He refers to Axel sacrificing himself at that point, and the reason he says "Oh, that's why." is because he sees the images of Sora's friends engraved into his heart. He realizes that Axel saw himself in Sora, and decided to save them both instead of sacrificing one for the other.
Actually Namoru has stated that the " Why did he choose you?" was missed translated the Japanese line was more vague while in English it was more definitive. The actual translation should be more or less " Why were you chosen? " instead, this isn't the first time there has been a mistranslated line so its not much off a surprise. Another thing I would like to add is that if Ventus had chosen Sora over Roxas then why does Roxas still wield Ventus's keyblade?
same here-i used sleeping lion the first time i won, it was because i kept healing myself by driving into limit form now i can do this without it (it took so much practice) pretty well, but i've never used reflect during this battle--i actually never use it at all... -.-' now i'm going to use it all the time after watching this lol
@NeroXIII It's my favourite keyblade, mainly for the "ching" noise it makes. :P But yeah, represtenting the good side in the two was pretty kewl while fighting him.
How does he deal so much damage to you? I fought him on level 30 critical, had like a third of your max health and his spin attack only drained 2/3 of my hp bar.
I actually just did this battle, I'm lvl 50, and was using decisive pumpkin. Definitely first boss to give me any real trouble though. Haha beat it the first time. But was very tough
If they thought ahead on Recoded They Could've added like a Teaser in 358/2 days where if you select Duel weilding Roxas You get a New Map called C.O and do Missions there and the Final Boss there is Kingdom hearts 1 Sora
Like the logic here is that Recoded ends in Where Chain of memories meant to have started in Sora's Storyline But maybe Jiminy Cricket wrote that down before the Data in the book got Corrupted but then if he didn't then How'd the rooms appear in the Journal Data

Listening to this clip makes it really obvious they replaced the Roxas voice clips with BBS Ventus voice clips. It's SO noticeable
All these years later and this is still one of the best fights and impending scenes I have ever seen in a JRPG.
