As someone who worked Dracula's castle this past season let me say that the ride is terrifying for the operators who walk the back. There are several blind spots where the cars can give the operators a jump scare and have hit employees who are not paying attention. If they do upgrade the effects I'd hope they eliminate the need for an operator to stand in the back and have camera's watching the back. I've come away with several hits to the point where I just said no I'm not working the back to the other operators. That is how bad some of the blind spots are on the ride. Also the mausoleum scene has seen some of the cars get stuck there. The ride is in need of an update.
I didn’t work it this season but I heard that was a problem from other coworkers. The ride is also kind of falling apart so it would be pretty awesome if after the new ride scamper and carousel candy they gave that ride an overhaul cause it really needs it
This is more of an issue due to ride operators not being trained properly on how to rotate in the back. I am a supervisor on this ride, and I take extra care teaching my operators how to rotate in the back without being anywhere near a car.
I live in Southern Utah and I've somehow never been even though I've been to Disney like 9 times lol. Hoping I get to go next year, my parents used to go a lot 😁
Cannibal for the win🎉. I love this ride that I feel like it should be the first favorite roller coaster in the whole wide world and beat all the other roller coasters in the world.🎉❤😂
This countdown is a HR! My favorite part is hearing you say "tricked out" in such a professional NPR/PBS voice. I love how the Lagoon logo pops on the drop tower at night. Gorgeous. Great countdown, your videos just keep getting better and better.
Just so you know, the Log Flume closed at the end of last season, and has been completely torn out. There's rumor that Lagoon plans to install a much larger, custom built Flume that goes up into Rattlesnake Rapid's area.
Even though it's a family coaster and doesn't have much but a few helixes, I'm surprised Bombora ranked as low as it did. I enjoyed my ride on it WAY more than I expected to, and the music was timed perfectly so the chorus finished as we pulled in the station. With how fun and smooth it was, I was begging the rest of my party to ride it again later on when we had gone through all the haunts we wanted to do. Another one I was sad to see left off was Turn of the Century, their wave swinger, if only because of the location over the lagoon. That ride at night was magnificent and with a little pumping I was alternating a nice serene coast over the water and waving to passersby on the Skyride. I would have left out the train on my top 20, if only because I cannot abide by those animals having such small and uninspired enclosures. There have been several petitions over the years from locals to get rid of the majority of the park's animal enclosures, and I definitely understand why as pretty much all of the animals looked miserable. Otherwise I agree with most of the list - still haven't managed to get on any Flying Scooters though, and the line for Samurai forced me to balk at it but hopefully I can get on both next visit!
Turn of the Century, this year, is listed as "Temporarily Closed." But when I went last weekend, The ride was literally laying in pieces. Just a stack of Steel and Swings sitting on Concrete. It doesn't look like 2024 will be a year that ride gets to show up in. Sad. It was one of my favorites. But Flying Aces is similar enough for a good backup - but they just lack the height, size, and scenery that made Turn of the Century so emblematic of the Park.

There is also a nature walking trail outside the park in the back with some nice views to the inside that include the rattlesnake rapids and the zoo animals. It does have a gap where you are walking on a neighborhood road so don't think the trail is over when you encounter it. I found it while viewing the construction of the newer mountain ride from outside the back of the park. It seems to be well known to active locals.
I can’t believe how smooth cannibal is, I thought I would only be able to ride it once then pass due to being jerked around, but ended up going two more times. One of my favorite coasters I’ve been on thus far. The wicked launch is awesome I do agree!
Yeah, you move the fin outwards to get height. Then you move it inwards to dive back down. You need to move the fin in the opposite direction right before you reach the high/low point.
