- PortAventura World is the best theme park resort in Spain. Located in Salou, this complex features two full-fledged theme parks in PortAventura Park and Ferrari Land. These parks feature multiple record-setting coasters, a few dark rides, good water rides, and so much more. So in this video, I will rank the best 20 rides at the resort!

Shambhala was the first ride my fiancé took me up to when we went to PortaVentura! She urged me to rush to the back of the park as quickly as possible to beat the crowds so we could ride this coaster first! I’m so thankful she did, the ride was amazing, smooth as butter, and felt like you were flying! I’ve never experienced a coaster as magical as Shambhala, and I don’t think I ever will again!
Glad you love it!
Great video! This has always been a bucket list park for me, as Shambhala looks like the best traditional B&M hyper, Dragon Khan looks like a solid looper, Red Force looks like an awesome intamin, and the park looks to have a great atmosphere. Their Intamin Multi-dimension coaster themed to Uncharted looks great too!
Be careful when I was there Shambhalas ride ops were stapling badly. Idk if they always do that but be weary
@@Jackp499 oh that stinks. I don’t know when I’ll get around to go to Spain, let alone Portaventura, but thanks for the tip. I’ll be sure to keep it in mind!
It's a fantastic park. It reminds me of a Busch Gardens park.
@@CanobieCoasterreally which park cause im going to Williamsburg this year but I’ve already been to tampa and I here they’re very different
Uncharted isn't ready yet, so I recommend waiting a bit.
I’m visiting in a few weeks so this video has been really helpful! Thank you!
You're welcome!
I’m going to salou tomorrow and I’m visiting I’m sooo excited;
So, I ended up visting PortAventura on Wednesday (and not Tibidabo, as I'd been musing about doing earlier--I still hope to get out there someday). It was a relatively short visit and I wasted some time getting lost and unsuccessfully trying to get cash for the lockers, but I did get in some rides. Some impressions:
Shambhala: One of the greatest coasters I've ever ridden. An absolute masterpiece. I think I might actually still rank Superman: The Ride above it, as hypers go, but I do admit Shambhala had better cars, restraints and presentation. I love the staggered seating on these later B&M hyper cars.
Dragon Khan: One of the most INTENSE coasters I've ever ridden. I think... I think it might actually be too long. It's telling that B&M never made another 8-inversion looper. Had to sit down for a long time after I rode it. If they'd just, say, left off the final pair of corkscrews, I would have found it perfect. Maybe I'm just getting old. Well, confronting your mortality is a thing coasters are supposed to do, I guess.
Stampida: A joy, possibly the original inspiration for Hersheypark's Lightning Racer. I got a back-row ride on the red side and I actually found it quite smooth, though it had nice airtime and laterals. My main complaint: unlike most of the big rides at PortAventura, this one does NOT have bins for loose items on the platform, so take that under advisement.
El Diablo: *Nice* Arrow mine train! The long swooping turn off the third lift is a bigger finale than these rides often have.
If I'd had a second day there's much more there that I'd have done, but I had a train to catch...
Shambhala really is a masterpiece. It's B&M's best coaster outside of Fury. Dragon Khan is an intense one. It's not just you.
I personally would've just expanded Port Aventura to include a new land rather than an entirely new small park. Something themed to Africa or there own version of The Lost Continent at Universal's Islands of Adventure would be my first choice. Never the less I still think Ferrari Land looks pretty cool.
I would have put Ferrari Land in the main park myself, but it is priced accordingly at least.
This list is pretty much spot on, especially the order of the top 5 😅
Street Mission almost made the top 5.
@@CanobieCoaster I never rode it, I underestimated it, but it's had some great reviews!
Oh what a fantastic park! Those 2 B&Ms and those 2 Intamins! Shambhala looks like the 1st or 2nd best B&M Hyper, Dragon Khan is probably the best B&M Looper period. Red Force is, well Red Force and the drop tower and everything. Og boy I need to visit this place so bad.
Their lineup is fantastic.
Seems like one of the best resorts out there, would love to visit it but I live 12 hours from it. Great ranking as always.
It's amazing.
I cant believe your videos Are so good insane
Thanks!
I love PortAventura. It’s my third favourite park after Phantasialand and Alton Towers, both of which I find a bit classier in terms of presentation and theming.
Also, I found that Shambhala was the only really smooth roller coaster. Furious Baco was a one-and-done for me and Dragon Khan bruised my ears. I loved Stampida, despite its roughness - I thought the duelling and surprise hello moment with the other train were excellent. Plus, I thought it’s location in the park (Wild West) was perfect for a wooden coaster.
I highly recommend Hotel Gold River, which is better themed than most of the park!
That's odd you found Dragon Khan rough.
Huracan condor REALLY killed me. Me and my brother went on it when we were like idk, 10? It is excruciatingly intense, and your butt feels it too with those standing seats.
It's very intense. I love it.
I still have nightmares from that beast
@MisterPatel I just learned there aren't only 'standing' seats and there are also normal seats. All this pain for nothing.
Looks like so much fun.
It's an amazing park.
Although this is an incredible resort, as my home park I still feel two major gaps the park needs to fill: 1-Ejector airtime/hang time (it would be so cool to open a mack extreme spinning coaster on the polynesia area). 2- a huge and intense flat ride, like a giant frisbie, cuz besides hurakan Condor there is no major thrill flat ride in Port Aventura.
Both those would be awesome additions.
Also, the park needs new, non-corrupt management that doesn’t push the fast passes and treat the normal majority of park goers who have regular tickets like absolute garbage. If you don’t know what I mean, try going to lots of other theme parks and you’ll realize how different PA is in its operations.
One of the speed hills on Shambhala actually gives you a decent pop of ejector. But I agree that it's mostly a floater ride.
@@StamfordBridge I gotta say, if you DO spring for the fast pass it's an absolutely amazing thing. But that creates a class-based two-tier experience.
I feel like it lacks a modern steel family coaster too, a Vekoma suspended coaster would look amazing going around all the beautiful landscaping and water
Have to agree with your top two, which are really the only standout rides at the park for me. That said, Shambhala alone is worth the trip.
While Shambhala is the clear star, there are several other great rides at the resort for me. Especially since they can check multiple genres.
If you are the kind of rider who chooses violence, Dragon Khan is pretty remarkable. I think I'm not quite hardcore enough for it. Maybe I should try Kraken or Kumba since they are basically slightly abridged versions.
Damn, never been to PortAventura. Rides 1 to 5 make the visit a must. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome. It's an elite park.
@@CanobieCoaster So you will defo recommend it to visit for a couple of days or one day should be enough.
I’m going to Spain in may and I’m going to this place and after seeing this video 8m even more excited but scared too😝
Enjoy!
Going to book for next April, would the park be quieter then what would que times be like
I haven't visited during that time period. I imagine it may be busy if it's near Easter.
Great video! I think red force is pretty overrated for me, I only had 2 rides on it, one front, one back and the launch isn’t my favourite. And Shambhala is my favourite coaster of all time and I agree with your opinions. And for some reason furious baco is very underrated for me, it wasn’t too shaky and the launch is really good!
I know not everyone is receptive of Red Force's launch style, but it works for me.
The water rides and Arrow mine seem lovely. Amusement Parks is all about the Go-Go-Go, these ones are all about popping a seat and catching the sights with the slower pacing. Man I'm getting old hahhaha
This one has stuff to appeal to all tastes.
I just rode the Arrow mine train--it's a longer-than-usual one and has a few moments that are fairly exciting for what it is. Nice family ride.
Yay, my “home park” (technically it would be Tibidabo). I’ve been only twice since I’m new to the area but definitely it’s got world
class attractions and decent themeing.
The only thing I found disappointing was the amount of graffiti and ancient unpicked litter in queue lines.
The graffiti in the Stampida queue shocked me. The park seemed clean otherwise.
@@CanobieCoaster back in September I also remember a lot of trash in the moat surrounding the Shambala queue
Which stand up floorless tilting car in Hurakan Condor do you like more, 3 or 4?
The stand up floorless ones are equal to me.
What do you think about Shambhala at Port Aventura and behemoth at Canada's wonderland?
Shambhala is elite. Behemoth is great.
What do you think about the front, the middle, and the back seats on Stampida?
Prefer it towards the front.
Do you like or love the stand up floorless tilting Hurakan Condor?
Yes
I don’t know about you but i am calling shambhala’s turnaround the figure 8 turn since it looks like that from an angle, kinda like fury 325’s treble clef turn.
I usually hear it called an ampersand.
What do you think about Shambhala at Port Aventura and Intimidator at Carowinds?
Shambhala is elite. Intimidator is very good.
What would you rate Serpiente Emplumada, El Diablo and Furius Baco?
Serpentine is probably an 8 (judge by flat rides) and I have reviews answering the other 2.
What do you think about the first drop on Shambhala?
And the first drop with the trim brake on Stampida?
Love Shambhala's drop. Stampida's isn't nearly as good.
Shambhala's first drop is one of the most sublime coaster moments I've experienced. And the camelback after that. And the ampersand turnaround after that.
I am planning to visit soon, is it feasible to cover both Ferrari Land and Port Aventura in the same day during September?
Is Ferrari Land open later than PortAventura? If so, yes.
Do you like the restraints they use on all coasters at the resort?
I'd prefer if Furius Baco had soft straps on the restraints.
Do you like the standard sit down cars on Hurakan Condor?
Yes, I just prefer the stand-up ones.
What is the section of furius baco did you like the most? What was the worst hangtime on a coaster for you?
I like the launch best.
At Port Aventura, what do you think about Grand Canyon Rapids and Dragon Khan?
Really like Dragon Khan. The rapids are ok.
I never got to ride Hurakan Condor. My mother didn't got to experience it, but she still considered Thrill Towers to be more tolerable
Thrill Towers is more approachable.
I saw in the 2022 visit that the left turn after the first drop in Tomahawk was modified or more banked than any previous rides and POV videos
I didn't notice, but it's possible.
Is Drop Tower at Carowinds your favorite Intamin drop tower, or...
No
What do you think about Serpiente Emplumada, El Diablo, and Stampida?
I'd go on any of them again.
Furius Baco is far from smooth, but do you like the launch, the airtime dip and the inline twist?
Yes
What would you rate Grand Canyon Rapids, Silver River Flume, Tomahawk, Serpiente Emplumada, El Diablo, Stampida, and Thrill Towers?
All are decent rides.
What would you rate El Diablo, Tomahawk, Stampida and Serpiente Emplumada?
I use different scales for different ride types. Serpiente would get an 8 for a flat. The coasters are 5-6ish.
Is Shambhala a smooth or rough roller coaster ride?
Extremely smooth.
It's smooth!
What are your top 5 flying theaters ? I’m going to do rise NY in a few days can’t wait
That's a hard one to rank. Soarin' and Voletarium are two of my favorites.
@@CanobieCoaster I will absolutely have to try Europa-Park someday thanks mate
Why do Shambhala and Red Force have your favorite restraints at the resort?
They're comfortable and allow you to experience the airtime on those rides.
Is el Diablo rough?
Is Tomahawk rough?
Is Shambhala smooth?
The best hyper coaster (excluding gigas) for you was Hyperion at Energylandia?
El Diablo and Tomahawk are fine. Shambhala is extremely smooth and one of the best hypers.
Is car 5 your favorite experience in Hurakan Condor?
The stand up floorless ones are the best cars.
Between the three types of airtime, you feel ejector airtime, fl-jector airtime, and floater airtime, what are the differences between those three types of airtime?
Ejector is stronger than -1 G. Fl-jector is right at -1 G. Floater is from 0 to -1 G.
First comment. I would love to visit this resort
It's exceptional.
Did more people like the 2007 KumbaK trains or the original PTC trains, on Stampida?
I think the PTC ones.
Never rode the originals but I think the KumbaK trains are fine. I did have to fold myself in a little.
To ride, what would you think about El Diablo and Dragon Khan?
Prefer Dragon Khan, but I'd ride both.
Serpiente emplumada is a fast ride?
Yes it spins fast.
Hi how much is it for a day ticket please??
Depends on the season and number of parks. Check their website.
Many thrill roller coasters in the world have two types of roller coasters forces, positive Gs and negative Gs. What are the differences between positive Gs and negative Gs?
Negative Gs lift you up and positive Gs push you down.
Between all coasters at the resort, what do you think about the smoothness or roughness on:
Shambhala
Red Force
Dragon Khan
Furius Baco
El Diablo - Tren de la Mina
Stampida
Tomahawk
Tami Tami
Stampida and Baco can be shaky. Parts of El Diablo can be jerky. The others are smooth.
Did you like Acrophobia at Six Flags Over Georgia more than Hurakan Condor at Port Aventura?
No, but it's close.
What do you think about the first drop on Dragon Khan?
Solid
It's cool that it goes straight into the first loop. B&M doesn't do that very often, do they? And are there any other B&M's that have a *second* vertical loop? Kraken I guess?
Shambhala was one of the best coasters my father ever ridden
It's exceptional.
Between all coasters at the resort, what do you think about the restraints on:
Shambhala
Red Force
Dragon Khan
Furius Baco
El Diablo - Tren de la Mina
Stampida
Tomahawk
Tami Tami
Furius Baco and Stampida could use better restraints. The others are fine to good.
But I recommend you one, one that still uses over the shoulder restraints, what would you think?
Probably would not like it.
Which restraints does Red Force at Ferrari Land use? Do you like or love the restraints?
Lap bars, love them.
I think there's a coaster at the resort and what about the smoothness or roughness?
Canobie Coaster would say:
It is quite shaky. The ride vibrates profusely throughout the layout. You get nasty shuffling in...
A) the inside seats.
B) the outside seats.
B especially.
Would you like to ride Stampida again? Serpiente Emplumada? Hurakan Condor? Dragon Khan?
Yes to all
What's your favorite type of roller coaster force feeling?
Airtime
Do you prefer Dragon Khan or Kumba?
Kumba
Approachable, what means?
Wide appeal
Please Do A POV On Mission Ferrari Next Year :)
I don't know the next time I will be at Ferrari World. Not sure what that park's filming policy is.
What do you think about all coasters at the resort in smoothness or roughness?
Canobie Coaster would say...
A) All are smooth.
B) Stampida and Tomahawk are the roughest, they have shuffling. The others are smooth.
C) Stampida and Dragon Khan are the roughest, they have shuffling. The others are smooth.
D) Stampida and Furius Baco are the roughest, they have shuffling. El Diablo has some awkward transitions. The others are smooth.
E) Red Force, Dragon Khan, and Furius Baco are the roughest, they have shuffling. The others are smooth.
D
Do you like the restraints on all rides and coasters at the resort?
Furius Baco and Stampida don't have the most ideal restraints.
I saw videos and POVs of Tomahawk taken with the old trains, and Stampida already had the 2007 KumbaK trains
Tomahawk got its new trains later.
Why would you prefer if Furius Baco had soft straps on the restraints? Because the current hard ones...
I'd prefer soft straps due to the neck chopping.
Templo del fuego?
Hasn't been open for me in my visits.
Was Furius Baco the roughest coaster for you in the world?
The roughest is Tornado at Parque de Atracciones de Madrid?
No
FInally someone notices serpiente emplumada!!!!!!! I love that ride!!!!!!!!
It's a good flat.
Imagine going to Spain and ride three coasters, Shambhala at Port Aventura, Dragon Khan at Port Aventura, and Coaster Express at Parque Warner Madrid. What would you think about the three?
Shambhala is excellent. Dragon Khan is great. Coaster Express is awful.
What means "exceptional"?
Amazing
In Spain I think there are one or two Vekoma SLCs
Yes there are.
Do you like the restraints used on all coasters at Port Aventura?
Most of them.
I DIDNT EVEN KNOW HURACAN CONDOR HAD REAL SEATS! HOLY MOLY IM GOING BACK RIGHT NOW AND GOING ON A SEATED SEAT
Hope they let you choose that side.
Why did you get Hurakan Condor a 10 out of 10 and Red Force a 9 out of 10 as seen in the reviews but in this list Hurakan Condor was in number 3 and Red Force in number 2?
I rate things relative to their ride type. Hurakan Condor is as perfect as a drop tower can be- hence the 10.
What are your favorite restraints between Shambhala at Port Aventura, Red Force at Ferrari Land, Hurakan Condor at Port Aventura, Dragon Khan at Port Aventura, Furius Baco at Port Aventura, Thrill Towers at Ferrari Land, El Diablo at Port Aventura, Stampida at Port Aventura, Tomahawk at Port Aventura, Serpiente Emplumada at Port Aventura?
Shambhala and Red Force have the best ones.
Do you like all restraints at the complex:
Shambhala
Red Force
Hurakan Condor
Dragon Khan
Furius Baco
Stampida
El Diablo
Serpiente Emplumada
Thrill Towers
Not a fan of the Baco ones.
11:12 60% faster than an average vehicle on a highway
8:15 20% faster than an average vehicle on a highway
True
Of all rides and coasters at the resort, what are your least favorite restraints there? Why?
Furius Baco's since they can cause neckchopping.
Where do you predict Uncharted will be placed within this ranking
Top 3
It depends how strong the theming is. I'm guessing it would place somewhere in the 5-7 range.
Has there been a layout released? And do we know what special ride effects intamin has planned for it?
What are your favorite restraints at the resort?
Shambhala's clamshell harnesses and Red Force's lap bars.
I also saw Tomahawk videos taken with the old trains
Yes it got new trains after it opened.
Do you like all restraints in rides and coasters at Port Aventura?
Most of them.
If I ask you: What are your least favorite restraints at the resort?
Canobie Coaster would answer: I'm not a big fan of the restraints on Furius Baco and Stampida. I wish they could use better restraints.
If I ask you: What are your favorite restraints at the resort? Are your favorite restraints found on Hurakan Condor and Dragon Khan? What do you think?
Shambhala and Red Force have my favorite coaster restraints there.
I remember when I was 9 they had this roller costed it was red
I hated it every time we would go down fast and go back up my head would go down because it was too heavy for me to lift it back up
Dragon Khan?
What does that mean?
"If you ride further back in the train"
That means if you sit towards the rear of the vehicle.
And I also go to Port Aventura in normal months such as April, May, or June
Makes sense!
I would've changed Tea Cups for Angkor for the theming alone.
That's fair.
i have never went on any big rollercoasters since the red force and its safe to say im never going on a big one again my adrenaline went to the roof and i felt like i had a heart attack
Red Force is one of the biggest out there.
I am going soon...
Have fun!
I like PortAventura more in spring and summer months
I prefer to visit when it's not during the piping hot summer.
Augest 2023 I went there when I was a Spain it is recamended
It is highly recommended.
Would you like to go to PortAventura World again?
Yes
I think some people found thrill towers to be more tolerable than hurakan condor
I get it.
What's your favorite roller coaster drop in Spain?
Shambhala's
Do you like or love the resort and would you like to go again?
Love it.
they shouldve called it ferrari road
I think the park name is fine.
