1. Fury 325
2. Copperhead Strike
3. Afterburn
4. Intimidator
5. Nighthawk
Also the acceleration on Copperhead's launch was made faster this year. It's still not a great launch, but a bit better than before.
It didn't seem better than past years to me.
Mountain Gliders has the stopper so you can't snap it hard. I'm spoiled though because I rode the ones at Knoebels and it's insane how much you can snap that one
Except the ops at Knoebels often stop you and I've been advised by a friend working there not to.
Hey boss, I love your videos and it’s a daily highlight for me when I see you review a ride or park! Can’t wait for you to visit each and every park, all the very best. Peace.
Glad you like them!
the fact that flying cobras isn’t on this list is so disappointing, it’s much better than carolina cyclone and vortex
I prefer the two you mentioned over Flying Cobras.
Agreedddd flying cobras is so good
Agreed Flying Cobras Is AWESOME
I said this before I rode the ride in the front and now I have a headache
Going to Carowinds for the first time next month.
Have fun!
Im going to Carowinds today and this list was well put together.
You just earned a subscriber and a like!
Thanks!
Going here soon I’m excited
Enjoy!
This video was perfectly timed. I'm heading down there for the first time tomorrow
Enjoy!
Great video! I definitely have to work my way to this park next year.
It's a great one.
After having visited Carowinds several times myself, I've come to rank my top 4 rides in the park as:
1. Fury 325
2. Afterburn
3. Copperhead Strike
4. Intimidator
I know some people may be confused about Afterburn being ahead of CS, but I just can't ever pass up those good, forceful oldschool B&M's!
I completely understand putting Afterburn that high.
I couldn’t decide between Afterburn or Copperhead Strike, but i’m fairly certain that this is my official top 5 list at this park:
1. Fury 325
2. Copperhead Strike
3. Afterburn
4. Intimidator
5. Nighthawk
Copperhead and Intimidator fight for number 2 for me. Intimidator was running good in March.
After a recent visit, I had a shift in my list
1 Fury 325, still number 1 to this date. There was a great ride op who motivated guests to board fast.
2 Copperhead Strike, this moved up on my list. I enjoyed it more than in 2022. The launches felt a little more powerful.
3 Afterburn, still one of the strongest and most interesting inverts by B&M
4 Thunder Striker, this made a big jump up on my coaster ranks, moving to the upper tier. The amount of sustained floater air was awesome.
5 Nighthawk, I finally got to ride it and found it very fun.
6 Drop Tower
7 Electrospin
8 Do se Do
9 The Air Race, I fogot its name
10 Windstar
Thunder Striker and Intimidator has run better post covid.
I love that valley right before the corkscrew on Afterburn
That ride is well paced.
Fury325 is obviously a legend and worth the hype, but I was happy to see Copperhead Strike at number 2. The theming, weird layout, hang time, and down right fun seems really underrated in the coaster community to me.
It really is a great ride.
7:17 afterburn and copperhead strike were in sync lol
Yes
Yes!
Enjoy!
All B&M stand up coasters were smooth and not painful
Most were fine for me.
Where can I find your patented method to enjoy stand-up coasters? I’m going in a week and I’m going to finally try to brave vortex
I made a video on it.
From 7 to 1
7 Do Si Do. I like how this flat ride spins, but also elevates you.
6 Electrospin. The world needs more of these rides.
5 Drop Tower. It may be short, but it packs a punch
4 Intmidator. This is a good coaster, but it can't match the 3 above it.
3 Copperhead Strike. This is like a toned down Maverick. Still fun and has great themeing. Mack needs to beef up their launches though.
2. Afterburn. This is one of the most powerful B&M inverts out there. The brakes do hit hard though.
1 Fury 325. This is my number 1. It has it all, speed, power, airtime, and great length.
Nice list!
Carowinds was my homepark for 12 years. I think all of the big 4 are elite rides and rank them 4 as:
1. Fury
2. Copperhead
3. Afterburn
4. Intimidator
Such a strong top 4.
The top 4 order is flawless
What a top 4!
I really wish more parks had Top Scans hopefully soon more get built
Me too.
nice
Thanks!
I was happy to see the respect for Vortex. Same top 3 for me. Honestly, I think I'd put Nighthawk as my # 4 ahead of Afterburn. Maybe I wouldn't say that if the Vekoma flyers were just as common as B&M inverts. Afterburn did run much slower for me last year compared to 2018. I was surprised how many of the general public I talked to that said that their favorite in the park was Intimidator over Fury. I heard a lot of that on both my 2018 & 2021 visits.
Wow, I didn't think Nighthawk was that popular!
@@CanobieCoaster hey man, do you know if nighthawk is open? I’m going in two weeks and I’m really hoping that its going to be open
I used to like Intimidator more because I feel like it gives me stronger pops of airtime and the bunny hills are better, but Fury 325 has been winning lately because I’m addicted to that first drop.
@@breew1702 That's what others would say as well, and I realized that Intimidator does have not only more airtime, but it's just as strong as Fury's, if not stronger. I think the sense of speed that Fury maintains is what wins me over, or I'm unknowingly just following the pack in the Fury love.
kewl
Thanks!
Is Kiddy Hawk a Vekoma suspended family coaster, a newer version or an older version?
Which version do you like more?
It's an older version. I prefer the newer ones.
Carowinds looks like such an awesome park. My predicted top 4 is 1. Fury 325 2. Copperhead Strike 3. Intimidator 4. Afterburn.
Such a strong top 4.
Of the other two Vekoma flying dutchman coasters, which one did you like more, Batwing at Six Flags America, or Firehawk at Kings Island?
Firehawk, but it's close.
About the Carowinds Hurler, I don't know if did most people like the ride with the trim brake added at the base of the first drop or before the trim brake was added at the base of the first drop. What do you think?
I think people preferred it before the trims.
So glad Carowinds is one of my home parks 😁😁
I rank the attractions as such:
1. Fury325
2. Intimidator
3. Afterburn
4. Copperhead Strike
5. Flying Cobra
6. Vortex
7. Carolina Cyclone
8. Hurler
9. Ricochet
10. Carolina Goldrusher
I hate Nighthawk 😆
Nice list! You have Flying Cobras way higher than me.
I agree, especially the Nighthawk part
I’m dying to try copperhead but I can’t get over not having the security of the over the shoulder restraints.
The lap bars are very safe.
I have to say I am a bit surprised that The Flying Cobras wasn't on the list. Isn't that supposed to be one of the smoothest Vekoma Boomerangs out there?
Second smoothest I’ve been on smoothest is the one at moreys
It is, but I prefer these 15 rides.
About Hurler at Carowinds, did many people like it, between the original ride experience which means it didn't have the trim brake and the ride experience with the trim brake added at the base of the first drop? What do you think?
A) Most liked both the original ride experience and the trim ride experience.
B) Most found the original ride experience slightly better.
C) Most found the original ride experience a lot better.
D) Most found the trim ride experience slightly better.
E) Most found the trim ride experience a lot better.
C
What do you think about Drop Tower at Carowinds, Drop Tower at Canada's Wonderland, Giant Drop at Six Flags Great America, and Hurakan Condor at PortAventura?
All are fun.
I Gotta Say Vortex Was Pretty
Dog Water When I Rode It But
Anyways Great List! 😊
Thanks!
At Carowinds, do you like or love the batwing on afterburn?
Love it.
I have no clue how to snap on MG, I can do every other type of flyer but just was never able to get that one down b/c of the literally 35 second cycle and limited sail movement.
It's a short cycle, but I've never had trouble snapping. Maybe it's because I'm used to the near impossible Lake Compounce ones.
@@CanobieCoaster I'm trying those this summer, with the longer cycle and shorter waits I'm hoping I can make it happen!
At Carowinds, what do you think about Hurler, Carolina Cyclone, Vortex, Flying Cobras, Carolina Goldrusher, and Afterburn?
If the ride isn't in this video, not a fan.
Of the coasters at Carowinds built at the time, how many were there liked by many guests and enthusiasts?
At what time?
You think Hurler will get Titan Tracked at some point?
And what do you think replaces Vortex? A raptor?
I'm not sure what they'll do with Hurler. If the rumored Titan Track on Wolverine Wildcat goes well, maybe!
What do you think about Hurler at Carowinds and Thunder Run at Kentucky Kingdom?
Thunder Run is Hurler if it ran smoother.
What do you think about Windseeker at Carowinds in uptime and reliability?
It can close for wind or staffing.
Would you like to go to Carowinds again? What do you think?
Definitely
At Carowinds, imagine riding again Hurler, Carolina Cyclone, Vortex, and Copperhead Strike. What would you rate those four?
I have reviews for those.
Unpopular opinion but vortex is one of the best at carowinds. So underrated
I think it gets too much hate.
By the 1990s and 2000s, Carowinds had many roller coasters but they had...
A) more quality than quantity.
B) more quantity than quality.
B
I could legit watch your top 15 or 25 or 50 vids all day long and you could do a new version every year and I'd be a fan. I'd even tune in if there was a top 30 flat rides, top 25 skinny flat rides, top 15 Ferris wheels or carouses, etc. (Hint hint lol) but yeah, Fury, Copperhead and then Afterburn for my 3 here .
I have some weird countdowns like for bumper cars.
@@CanobieCoaster I am going to check that out! I'm a bumper car fan too
Where do you think you would have ranked Thunder Road based on your experience on similar rides?
It probably would have been somewhere towards the bottom, assuming it rode like Racer 75.
Did you like the old river rapids ride at Carowinds? Why?
No, I came off bone dry.
At Carowinds, see Copperhead Strike. What would you rate it?
I made a review for that one.
i went here last month and was sliding off the yellow and blue roller coaster-
Nighthawk?
So tickled you added Plants Vs Zombies. They will actually be closing the ride for good this summer.
I heard.
Would you like to go again to Carowinds?
And to ride those four coasters there:
Afterburn
Carolina Cyclone
Carolina Goldrusher
Flying Cobras
I'd happily ride Afterburn and Cyclone again. I typically skip the other two.
I agree mostly but if I had to choose between flying cobras and Vortex... I'd choose flying cobras by a lot... Maybe because I hate vortex with a red hot fiery passion
I know I like Vortex more than most.
Was vortex at Carowinds the most painful stand up coaster for you?
No
I’m going to the park for band tmr, the intire band is riding the fury together.
Nice!
It wasn’t nice. I broke m glasses.
I think some people liked coasters with trim brakes
Some do.
Top three goes as follow:
1-fury 325
2-Top gun/afterburn
3-Intimidator
Same top coaster!
Did you like all river rapids rides in the world, including the one at Carowinds?
There are some that aren't too good like the Carowinds one.
At Carowinds, what do you think about Flying Cobras and Vortex?
Like Vortex. Flying Cobras is ok.
I’m surprised scream weaver isn’t on here, it’s a good ride.
Just missed.
What was the worst ride you've ever experienced at Carowinds, back in your first visits?
Kiddy Hawk is a bad one.
Did you find all rides and coasters at Carowinds to be tolerable? What do you think?
Most are enjoyable.
which Carolina is your favorite
I like both equally.
Which was the worst river rapids ride you've ridden in the world?
The old one at Carowinds.
I've noticed from POVS that Intimidator doesn't trim during the MCBR because it usually trims twice before it, which is even WORSE! It's bad enough there's a turnaround right after the drop but then to have the 1st two camelbacks (each separated by another turnaround) trimmed is infamy! Don't get me wrong: I love the long ride time and staggered seating trains but I'd imagine that it's the worst of the 4 w staggered seating B&M hypers which I'd argue are even better for floater airtime. Shambala is slightly short, (in length, not height); Diamondback is perfect for floater but it has a rattle, but I've not ridden any except Behemoth which I love, and I'm sure I'd love Fury 325 even better.
From my rides, the MCBR trim tends to hit harder than the camelback trims.
Imagine riding again Afterburn at Carowinds. What would you rate it?
I made a review for it.
My top 5 are the following:
1. Fury 325
2. Copperhead Strike
3. Afterburn
4. Intimidator
5. Nighthawk
Similar to mine.
1. Fury 2. Intimidator 3. Copperhead even though I almost puked and 4 afterburn corkscrew nearly ripped my feet off and the standup one I couldn’t stand but I didn’t ride it correctly
Afterburn is intense.
What’s your favorite hangtime moment on a flat ride?
Probably a top scan.
What's the best river rapids ride you've ever ridden in the world?
What's the worst river rapids ride you've ever ridden in the world?
The Carowinds one is the worst. Best is probably Popeye or RiverQuest.
After the amazing and world class top 4, it kind of falls. The park has several supporting coasters but its mainly those top 4 you want to look at. Id say all this already amazing park needs is a better modern wooden coaster and maybe an RMC. Defiantly time to do something with Hurler and for Night Hawk to go.
But that top 4 is so good I just keep reriding them.
At Carowinds, imagine riding again Vortex. What would you rate it?
I have a review for it.
Overall: good park
Yes
Bone dry, what means?
Not wet at all.
Surprised intimidator ranked higher than afterburn
It rose for me in 2022.
@@CanobieCoaster most def a bucket list park for me. Would like to see how your list compares to my thoughts!
I have yet to do Copperhead Strike, but this is where my rankings would fall:
1. Fury 325
2. Copperhead Strike*
3. Afterburn
4. Mountain Gliders
5. Nighthawk
6. Intimidator
7. Drop Tower
8. Electro Spin
9. Flying Cobras
10. Carolina Cyclone
11. Windseeker
12. Plants vs Zombies
13. Boo Blasters on Boo Hill
14. Carolina Sky Tower
15. Woodstock Express
Hurler is a bit rough sometimes and is otherwise just boring. Vortex can also be a little rough but varies from ride to ride. Intamin Loopinf Starships have by far the worst restraints I’ve ever experienced, so they’re dead last in my rankings
You definitely don't have Intimidator as high as me, but I appreciate the Mountain Gliders placement.
@@CanobieCoaster yeah, I'm not a big B&M hyper person, probably one of the more overrated coaster models in my opinion. Just grew up surrounded by them and never found them extraordinary. Mako isn't even in my top 5 coasters in Florida
Dang it! I was almost 1st
Lol
Both Carolina Goldrusher and Kiddy Hawk at Carowinds were in your video of top 25 worst roller coasters in the world (2020), why do you think about the two?
Kiddy Hawk is awful. Goldrusher was more disappointing than painful in a reride.
DID HE SAY YOUR GONNA FALL???!!!!
Don't think I did.
Now southern star and plants vs zombies are gone.
I heard.
I havent been here, but afterburn looks leagues better than intimidator.
I like a good B&M hyper.
Carowinds is like delicious bowl of Rice Crispies. There's a lot of sNaP! PoP! & wHiP going on over there on a lot of rides!
Lol
5. Goldrusher
It was more tolerable than I remembered when I rode it again this year, but it still wasn't good.
@@CanobieCoaster You could say that for a few coasters there.
I disagree with electro-spin being the best top scan. Sol Spin and Knott's recently got a new program and it's running way faster. While Knott's technically is a Ventura model since it has six seats per gondola instead of 5, it's a wonderfully forceful experience. Even if the control system is immensely temperamental....
When was Sol Spin sped up? I last rode it in October.
RIP Southern Star + PvZ
I'm excited to see what the new area looks like.
This park is only known for the top 4
And what a top 4 it is.
Hi
Hi
Carolina Goldrusher at Carowinds was in your video of top 25 worst roller coasters in the world (2020), why?
Poor layout and transitions.
I always love snapping those gliders. Some employees actually do snapping contests to see who can get the highest. I find that if I dive in hard, I can really get a great snap. I've snapped as high as the canopy over the queue. I still wish Hurler didn't get those trims...but Fury 325 reigns supreme! I hope they get something real good to replace Rip Roarin' Rapids.
Actually theirs pretty garbage go to knoebels if you like snapping flyers
It's surprising they don't have a water ride anymore given its climate.
@@CanobieCoaster An updated chute the chutes ride or even Mack Rides Water Coaster could work, but space...
Sounds like you rode a completely different version of Vortex than me. I didn't like Vortex at all, between the headbanging and crotch blows. Even trying to ride it defensively, it was a miserable experience. By far my least favorite B&M and one of my top 15 least favorite coasters.
I make sure the bike seat is way below my crotch and the OTSR is jammed into my shoulders to eliminate headbanging.
2nd
Nice!
fury
My favorite there.
Kiddy Hawk and Carolina Goldrusher are not in the list
Because they aren't good.
Weirdest ranking list I’ve seen for carowinds
Everyone ranks rides differently.
Hurler was awful. Most rough coaster I’ve ever ridden. Definitely gave me a headache after.
I found it reasonably smooth. More boring than rough.
Try using easier terms for the non- coaster enthusisist
I can try.
Or there was a painful stand up coaster
Apocalypse was bad.
Of the coasters the park had before Intimidator was there, how many were there liked by most enthusiasts and guests?
Afterburn was the best of the bunch before Intimidator.
