He might really be the world's toughest guy and certainly great human being, as well. My favorite story of the entire run to the Championship. Great interview, Rich, you're truly the best!
Eric’s story for the rams is not heard enough. I loved him as a player and when I first heard he was coming to the Rams, I got excited because I knew we were really short in the backfield. He didn’t get all of the fanfare that OBJ, Stafford and Miller got (respectively), but he came thru big time and was instrumental in helping the Rams win the SB. Plus, I love his Ha HA story of him dogging his last team after they did him wrong and released him from their team. Now Eric has a Super Bowl ring. So happy for him and a great story.
I totally agree for the most part Wedell’s incredible story has been overlooked. I don’t know of anything remotely similar happening before in any sport.
Weddle’s story is so incredible and the national sports media pretty much overlooked it. OBJ had a great first half and if he hadn’t gone down I think the Rams would have won by 14+.
So many things had to line UP for this team to win SUPER BOWL 56! This was predestined. I am so happy for Eric Weddle, Von Miller, OBJ all these guys came to the RAMS mid way through the season and later and look how this worked outed out! Miracles are real.
Actually I'd go with the entire AFC north except for Baltimore for hating that guy but he obviously deserves respect for his play. - Salty Pittsburgh fan 😂😂
The person making the graphic did him dirty. Says 2 time all-pro but that's just first team. He was 3 time second team all-pro as well for a total of 5 all-pros.
@@milleribsenalbeefan honestly I haven’t even thought about him as a HOF candidate but you’re right, all those accolades plus making the 2010s all-decade team gives him a pretty legit resumé
he still looked like a top player in those 2 championship games. Which is unbelievable when the dude hadn't even been in the league for the last few seasons. crazy
49er Faithful. Gotta love Weddle's story - a lesson for all of us. Stay in shape! You never know what life's opportunities may fall in your lap. 90% of success in life is being ready when random opportunities occur. Congrats to Eric Weddle, a SuperBowl Champion! An inspiration to all.
Weddle was hilarious when mic'd up, I think it was the NFC championship game. Always positive though, and really friendly, even with his opponents. Great guy, and he was calling defensive signals too. Amazing.
Teams been plucking they front office staff for awhile. They know what they doing that's why they find gems in the later rounds. He had a major impact from the div round all the way thru the super bowl. He made a lot of tackles around the line of scrimmage. He took that green dot serious and balled out. Need to offer him a job coaching them safeties. I'm happy for him.
This Rams season, starting with the INCREDIBLE Stafford story and how this WHOLE thing started, is off the charts. People can't even believe that its all true and organic. The Staffords were not even trying to GO to Cabo, a hurricane forced them to cancel their original plans to go to the Bahama's. The whole story of the trade, then all the drama of the season plays out, adding blue chip stars as guys are falling out...picking up guys that haven't played in TWO YEARS to play in the PLAYOFFS!!!! None of this stuff EVER happens...and it all happened in ONE YEAR!!
Weddle doesn't get enough credit, and especially is somehow hardly mentioned as having that key tackle to force a third and 1 that led to the two huge Aaron Donald plays to close out the game. If Weddle doesn't make that tackle to force third and 1, there is a much higher chance the Bengals kick a field goal to tie that game.
To be trueful I didn't much respect for Eric but now I have so much respect to play at a high level that's so incredible. He really have my RESPECT NOW congratulations World Champs thank you Eric great job God Bless
idk if this is quite that dramatic they asked him to play and he played if he had played and failed he'd just say "oh well I tried". But congrats to him, nice way to go out
This dude is an iron man. He tweaked his hamstring and groin in the cardinals game too wow. And if you've ever tweaked your hamstring or groin you know it's a bitch
please explain, because EVERY SINGLE NFL expert/commentator and EVERY NFL QB i've ever heard talk about him talk about how he's possibly the smartest safety they ever faced, and one of the toughest at any position. oh yeah, this guy RARELY gave up big plays over his career. he was amazing in san diego, amazing in baltimore...and AMAZING in these playoffs. so overrated how? if you like i could give you a list of ACTUAL overrated players, guys far more overrated than EW.
Dude played with a torn pec most of the game, and straight balled out
He might really be the world's toughest guy and certainly great human being, as well. My favorite story of the entire run to the Championship. Great interview, Rich, you're truly the best!
I think there was a play in the fourth quarter when he hit sticked Tyler Boyd and you can see how much pain he was in after that hit
@@AR-rq7qh wasn't that the play that stopped him 1 yard short of a first down setting up the 2 close out plays by AD?

Eric Weddle, Matt Stafford, Von Miller, even OBJ despite the injury, each getting a chance to contribute to a SB victory. All great stories.
OBJ had a legitimate chance at SBMVP by the look of how he started. Sad to see what happened but the plays he made were all clutch.
Weddle’s story is so incredible and the national sports media pretty much overlooked it. OBJ had a great first half and if he hadn’t gone down I think the Rams would have won by 14+.
Eric Weddle what a story! I am glad he came back and got his ring. My brother is his neighbor so I will be visiting my brother a lot!

Well deserved, Weddle is a class act!
One of my favorite chargers of all time. Only jersey i ever bought. So happy for him.
Well deserved. Had a great career and this story to end it all is really cool.
Who ..besides the entire Bengals offense ..doesn’t like Eric Weddle? ..what a great turn of events for a great guy ..congrats Eric!!

This is wild. Rams must've really been down bad...they didn't even know if he was in shape🤣🤣 Full credit to both parties for making this work
This storyline deserves a lifetime 🎥
30 for 30
As a Chargers fan and Eric Weddle fan. I’m super happy for him to be a super bowl champ..

I remember Eric Weddle was one of the top safeties and leading interceptions for a couple years.

I can't wait for the movie! This is Hollywood afterall.
Eric Weddle is such a positive person.
As a former SAN DIEGO Charger fan, congrats to Weddle. Truly am happy for him. Good luck coaching RB High!!

Thank you Eric for your heroic play and helping my Rams win the Super Bowl. Whose House?!
