      Bro idk enough about schemes and just game plans overall…so I can’t sit here and say why I think a coach was good or bad. I say all that because in the first superbowl against the patriots there was no surprises imo they knew they had to stop the run and force Jared Goff to have to make some throws…which btw I thought Mcvay did well all things considered I mean we had two of the mose WIIIIIIIIIDEEEEE open touchdowns in Super Bowl history to Cooks who was literally jumping up and down for a few seconds because he was soooooo wide ass open. My point is if Jared Goff wasnt out there Goffin it up and just threw to who at the time was our clear number 1 WR and again WIIIIIDE open TWICE LOL like dude considering the score of the game which was tied up 3-3 for almost the entirety of the superbowl until around 7-8 minutes or so left in the fourth quarter we could’ve ran away with that thing if he just makes ONE easy throw let alone both of them. Which again this isn’t like okay the WR was wide open but the pressure got there or he was wide open and Goff just couldn’t make a great pass like bro he was wiiiiiide open and Goff who had all the damn time in the world just somehow never seen him until like 3 seconds too late which everyone knows in football time is a goddamn eternity. They were quite literally the equivalent to a lay up in basketball AND HE HAD TWO OF THEM SMH so yeah again my point is the coach can only put players in position to help them succeed and when he dialed up TWO plays that were such great play calls that the almighty great Bill Belicheck defensive guru who just had the first ever game in NFL history where his defense literally didn’t stop the other team from scoring a touchdown not even one time😂😂😂 but yeah so when Mcvay is going against him and calls a perfect play resulting in our number 1 WR being WIIIIIIDE OPEN in the in zone(once again MULTIPLE TIMES) for some of the most wiiiiide open missed TDs in nfl superbowl history smh then idk how that’s on him right? Cause if Goff makes those easy ass throws and we win beating the shots pretty easily would that mean that Mcvay kicked Bills ass? Lol cause that would be crazy to say imo as well

    One of the biggest reasons we survived that game, compared to 2018, is the commitment to the run on that final drive. Not to take away from Stafford’s and Kupp’s heroic plays which are obvious, but that Akers run to set up 1st and Goal completely put the Bengals D on their heals at the goal line. Without that, I doubt they would’ve stacked 9 in the box and left two receivers on the right in 1-on-1 man for Kupp to score the TD.

      If RT Rieff isn't out, Bengals win by 17. Cincy found a way to shut down the Rams offense. But they couldn't add more points in the 2nd half because their OL was so bad on the right side. Once the Rams moved up the LB over the Center, Cincy couldn't shift to protect their weakness. If Reiff was in the game, they wouldn't have needed to shift and could have blocked the rush, leading to more scores. Lots of ifs that go both ways.

    The lack of run adjustment was frustrating. Even if they didn’t go to gap scheme, normal play action or some sneaky TE chip and go routes could have made a huge difference. His “commitment” to the run was very stubbornly one dimensional. And that dimension wasn’t working. And the Rams backs are not dynamic enough to break open a defense on pure effort or talent. They need something in the scheme to help them.

    McVay was setting up that last drive entire second half. He did adjust in passing game but receivers were either dropping the ball or giving the ball as a present to the dbs. TE ges down and now you have only 1 reliable catching option that is being double or tripple covered. He kept running the ball so the defense has to stay low and not just hawk for the ball. Concerning all of that, I think McVay did a great job

Lions just hope they get talent back in the draft whose even 1/4th of Stafford's talent and impact. Not like the Rams outright know they suck at picking at late 1st/2nd when all they need are high level veteran performers to fill specific spots. Much like Stafford's value outweigh those picks, good luck for the Broncos with the Rams late 2nd/3rd round picks to find an edge rusher talent as ready and as high impact as Von Miller at 32.

    Long time Rams fan .. Since 99 I was born in 92 ..
    When I heard we got Stafford I knew we had a chance and then I heard that SB56 was at Home in Sofi I just knew that The Rams were going to play their ass off to get there regardless of who it is..
    I remembered the Goff SB & Brady and I kept repeating to myself “Just be happy if we get there” then I remembered my QB, and saw how he improved from Week 1 when he stopped forcing the Deep balls for the big plays and started to look like Warner and got the ball out Fast even if it was a slant.. then Robert Woods got hurt and I was worried and then we got OBJ and I nearly died of laughter nothing against him he’s just one of the other players I felt “He’s on another team he’s MVP” and when A certain Madden came out (One with a bad ass 1 hand grab on the cover) I immediately put OBJ on my Team full of Rams in MUT as I just wanted OBJ with us even though he was doing great with the Giants..
    At that moment.. I went from ALL IN TO ALL DONE!! “I don’t care who it is Rams ARE WINNING THE SUPER BOWL AT HOME!!”
    My wife reminded me that there’s Brady and I said I welcome that Rematch “Careful what you wish for..” or “Your not supposed to ask for the smoke” hahaha But Stafford took Brady on TWICE and found a way to win. And then the final game of the season was the Niners and every game “Same Old Sorry Ass Rams” always plays in my head and yeah we fucked up.
    I kept telling my wife and pops “It’s going to be a Movie Moment!! We’re gonna Slay GOATS on our way back to eachother and we’re gonna go at it 1 last time and the winner goes to the Super Bowl!” The Niner fans in my fam felt it was in the bag and I kept telling em “Not this time, this time Sofi is on the line, this time We’re pissed off” seriously Post Season Rams were on another level!!
    I was sooo passed at the blatant fucking DIRTY ASS HIT on Stafford to the back of the head that KOd him in the beginning of the game and right there I knew.. “This is a different kind of ball game” Seriously looked like I was watching The Longest Yard. But like I kept saying that was our “Movie Moment” as just like they did to us prior WE built a comeback! WE Punched them in the mouth with AD - Jimmy G and WE went to the SB.
    Saw the Bengals beat the Chiefs and tbh was shocked.. saw that record of the most sacked.. and I just knew AD was going to EAT and with Stafford those 12 years in Detroit was going to haunt him and he was going to play his ass off!! I knew we were going to win cus it was just like built like that to me.. everything just fell into place for us. We adjusted, we learned, we payed our dues. We lost Nearly ALL of our Offense! And in every play with the Niners I was afraid we were going to lose Kupp or Higbee due to how dirty the Niners were playing.
    Now it’s finally .. ALL DONE and we got AD a ring the dude has deserved for so damn long!! Imo as just like how Stafford suffered with the Lions AD suffered with Goff on the Rams..
    We went through a lot this season and winning the SB was perfect ending. I remember thinking “If we make it to the Playoffs Akers is back!” And he went from that horrible injury that scared the shit out of me cus it was year 1 and dude looked fucking amazing! And then looked to have to take the whole season off and when he came back I wondered if he’d be the same.. prayed for the dude.. and he played in the Playoffs (Almost cost us the most important game!! Haha) but he played in the SB and imo it worked for the best cus now we got Akers, Henderson AND SONY MICHELL!

They used to do that so much to help out Goff.

On top of that the same media was like you have to win the Superbowl because you went all in. I won't name names but one media person pick the Rams to go to the Superbowl only to back out during the NFC championship. Allowing Kupp to beat you is the most anti-Belichick thing in defensive history. Don't do the opposite of what Bill would do in that situation. Not having an extra offensive lineman in on plays was a bad decision. At least keep an RB and TE back to help the O-line. McVey in essence tried to right the wrong of COMPLETELY ignoring the running game in the LAST Super Bowl, only to realize he doesn't have a Todd Gurley super stud back that can scare a defense out of their scheme. All the Rams backs are gadget backs, not enough of 'this' to be 'that' and not really much difference between any of them. They have NO heavy hitters in the backfield and that is an ACE every teams should have. You go to a split back set and get your BIG man past the front 4 and let him HURT some people.

    • @geraldjeffcoat392
      @geraldjeffcoat392 2 года назад +1

      What everyone failed to realize it was about the attempts. When the Rams jumped out to that 13-3 lead was that because of the run game? But if the Rams had did like the Bengals did and abandoned the run we would have lost too. It's pretty easy to blitz a team if you know they're not running the ball. Look at the 2nd half adjustment the Rams dared the Bengals to run, they had the middle open and the sides when the Rams were overloading a side. When the Rams was on the goal line. Why did they stack the box? Because even though the Rams suck the whole game running it, they were still a threat to run the ball.

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W 2 года назад +1

      @@geraldjeffcoat392 Yeah some advanced stats support that despite the Rams running like dog shit, it still was a good sell to the Bengals defense that they can transition to their pass game easily. "Yadda, yadda, yadda" right past where the officials changed their officiating 180 degress, dropping flags on back to back to back plays--so bad that even this vid admits the most crucial call was bogus--until the Rams get their go-ahead TD. The change in officiating is UNDENIABLE.
    So really, McVay almost blew it until the Refs saved them.

      To be fair, the officiating changed, but the ending didn't. Like you said, they dropped flags on back to back plays, if they hadn't thrown the holding on the Rams one play after the holding on the Bengals, Rams had a TD on what would have been 4th down, refs didn't really save anything. And that's with Bengals already benefitting from the biggest no call of the game, they both did a ton of those petty little holds, but only Cinci yanked a defender out of coverage by the face for a TD.

    If anyone deserved that win it was Stafford, then Donald, both were going to be first ballot HOF's and it would've been sad to see Stafford especially retire without a ring.

    Sean McVay's insistence on "establishing the run" nearly ruined their chances even before the Super Bowl.
