The Stafford/OBJ/Miller trades were absolute stunners that paid HUGE dividends. It was so great seeing smiles on their faces, OBJ especially, he got beat up in Cleveland. Stafford is having the time of his life and that story about how the coach just happened to be at the same resort in Cabo which led to ALL this happening, is crazy.

Bro Odell never ran the right routes in Cleveland. And ppl here still really liked him. Baker was a big problem too, the 2 just didn't mesh. But it doesn't help when the dude is throwing his qb under the bus.

The rams late to mid round drafting is really underrated
Yep, Les and group have been drafting great late round players who later become starters. Like one guy I'm excited to watch is our 2nd year LB Ernest Jones. Before having that early injury in the season he was balling out and when he came back it was like he was playing all year. And now with Wagner in the mix dang bro the Rams finally have a good midfield where the Defense can stop the run(hopefully).

god i love this team. As someone who defended him until the end it killed me to watch Jared Goff decline the way he did. Unfortunately it was necessary as Stafford got us to the promised land. I'll never forget Jared Goff being the QB that gave me the first Super Bowl I got to watch with my favorite team.
Yea Jared Goff just doesn’t have the it factor in my opinion. He has all the skill necessary to be an elite QB, but he just doesn’t make the plays when his teams need them.
Jared Goff is a damn good QB, unless he doesn’t have a defense. His super bowl run, he had a VERY good defense and his time in Detroit, defense didn’t start clicking till it was too late and you can see Goffs playing get a lot better as well but, like I said, it was a lil too late.
@@JustFootball his problems are that he just can't improvise and his pocket awareness is God awful (Gofful?). He can't recognize when a play has broken down. On top of that, defenses figured him out after those two good seasons he had.
I still love Goff even thought he’s having a hard time in Detroit
@@whosaidthat84 I can confirm this about Goff. He has the tangible skills but not the mental ones. He's shy in the pocket and can't create beyond the play design. This is where the difference between he and Stafford stands out the most. Stafford makes plays even when the play called breaks down. Goff just doesn't read defensive changes or see open receivers if he gets flushed. This is why he was traded.
As a rams fan since 2001 I was so happy to finally see them hold that trophy up !!
I just want to say: This is like the ideal style of video for this kind of topic. Showing key players and making it visual with stats instead of just a guy monologuing with highlights from a random season thrown in. A++++ Job

Rams front office and advanced scouting does a really good job finding great value in the middle to late rounds of the draft. that's really the key to their success.

Their head scout is now the GM of the Lions, Brad Holmes. I seriously think the Lions will see a big improvement this year.
As a packers fan this was one of the greatest Super Bowl runs I’ve ever seen, they played horrendous at times and got blown out multiple times in regular season, they came together as the season closed and wonthe chip.

Until the Rams came back to town, The Super Bowl was the only day of the year that i care about football. I lived in SoCal all my life. Then i was so excited for the Rams to return. Then SB 56 was the happiest I've been on the Big Game. Stafford and Kupp are the duo to watch
Just to let you know there’s one small error that I seen this video. During the 2019 season the rams went 9-7 not 8-8. The last game against the cardinals was a win for the rams not a loss which you have it marked down as

Gurley is also listed as a 2018 key defensive contributor with someone else's stats. For me, the format of the video is great, just has several little errors.
@@JustFootball loved the video. Maybe next time you can list their record when showing their schedule. Also, when you show the starting offense and defense, it goes to the next slide really quick. Aside from that, you got everything down. Really great video! I also liked the graphics used when showing the trades, key additions and key losses.

I'm a Rams fan, and tbh, from 2005 to 2015, we weren't really bad. We were just painfully mediocre. We had Jeff Fisher. Who's the literal definition of mediocre
4 of those 10 years the rams didn’t even win 4 games

@@DwayneIsK1NG yea it’s still amazing to see how quickly McVay turned them around and to see them now will all these legends at every position is insane
they had some great defenses during some of those years, but the offense stunk. I remember watching a lot of games where their defense under fisher played fantastic for 3 and a half quarters, but since the offense couldn't score, they would get tired and lose the game by a few points. it was so frustrating.

We had a great 2018 season beating great teams and a 8 game winning streak unfortunately we didn't win the chip that season but it was a great season that made the Rams the Champs they are today

My dad was saying the same thing to me when we got him. Every time he wpuld score i wpuld text him just OBJ and he would get pissed 😂 he cpuldnt stand Odell. He kept saying we would lose eventually and we made it all the way. I will forever love OBJ for what he did to help us get a ring. He forgot to mention in this too but Eric Weddle was a massive signing that helped us incredibly in that play off run.
What can’t overlooked is how well the Rams have drafted in the mid-late rounds
anybody remember the rotten years of tony banks? we suffered through that era, 3 long years of hoping he would get better. one game he'd throw 4 tds and run for 100 yards or something, then the next game he'd throw 3 picks and fumble it 2 times. then the next game he'd throw for 400 yards and 3 td's, then the next game have 3 fumbles and look horrible. that was surely one of the most frustrating times. Then, they got trent green! he'll be the savior! then he gets hurt in pre season, and now they are really really doomed. Then comes Kurt Warner down from his UFO and they win a super bowl for the first time ever. Watching the rams over the decades, they have to be one of the most bizarre teams ever

The Rams have started or solidified at least 3 trends in recent seasons:
1. Hiring young, offensive-minded coaches
2. Going all out for premium players with a “win now” mindset. Some credit to Brady’s Bucs as well
3. Placing increasingly less value on running backs and linebackers
Their formula worked, and now other organizations and players are going to try and replicate it
I’m a rams fan, I’ve been waiting for a good documentary on them like this

The Rams convinced Detroit to hire Holmes who gave the double wink too McVey. Holmes gave then our franchise record setting QB to his old team for their tiny hand QB.
Now Detroit will spend the next 30 years (like they did before Stafford) looking for a franchise QB while I firmly believe Stafford will win another SB.

@Amir Khan Believe me, I know. They went the entire 90's not being able to beat san francisco once. I went to a seahawks game just after Kurt Warner left (then took arizona to a super bowl) with this stink qb named mark bulger. He was ok at first, then just tanked. A full year or more I said this guy is toast before they finally cut him. I could see it because I watched every single rams game. Growing up with them in the late 60's, 70''s and 80's they were always in the playoffs, went to a bunch of NFC championship games and one super bowl finally. I thought they just could not possibly be bad but oh those 90's and after their first super bowl win in St Louis with Kurt they were just horrible for a long long time. Until Mcvay came along

Rams weren't seen as the favorites and many had them 6/7 odds-wise. We also traded a 2nd and a 3rd for Miller, not just a second. People were low on us throughout the season and into the post-season, but we overcame it.
We aren’t gonna sit here and act like a team with Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, Cooper Kupp, OBJ, Von Miller and Matthew Stafford were underdogs 😂😂😂 Yea they were the 4th seed but the 4th seed is a divisional chanpion. Just my opinion

I kept telling my brother that the Rams and Packers were gonna meet in the conference championship and he just laughed at the idea of the Rams being there. Now I rub it in his face.
Once we went 3-0 and defeated the Bucs the way we did, it was ALL RAMS. Cards game brought us down a bit and it wasn’t until the 0-3 slump that people were calling the Rams pretenders. Through the playoffs though, we had serious doubters even after knocking off the Bucs

Excellent video. I was having flashbacks the whole time. 2020 draft was stellar for those first four picks. I was in Raymond James during the Bucs game and it was the most nerve racking experience of my life.

fun fact, CEH was the rams' first choice for a rb in 2020 but the chiefs snagged him at the end of the first, so they settled on akers.
The real number is 7. There’s usually something that clicked in the right direction for all SB winners around 7 seasons prior. In the Rams case it was the selection of Aaron Donald in the 2014 draft.
I wouldn’t necessarily agree. I’d say that only refers to teams who use “normal approaches”. Take a look at the buccaneers who would have never won a super bowl with Jameis Winston so they acquired Tom Brady. So it was less than 12 months for them

Godwin? Marpet? Smith? Jensen? Wirfs? White? Vea? Winfield? Bunting? Dean? Davis? Lol…. And then all of the free agent acquisitions including Brady, Gronk, Fournette, AB, JPP, Suh.

Great info but rams did have a winning season 2019 they beat the cardinals in there last game to finish the season 9-7 and for the 2021 starters Samson ebukam was traded to the 49ers before the season started

There are some things that seem a bit off to me, like saying the Rams were the SB favorites after the OBJ signing... the Rams didn't win a single game that month and that had a lot of people skeptical.

Odds makers in Vegas literally had the rams as favriotes for the SB
@@CloverJam most of them seem to have the Rams at 3 I in November of 2021. Plenty of NFL talking heads had them ranked top 10 but not 1. Lots of fans had them low top 10. There may have been some people (including myself) who had them as favorites but it wasn't the prevalent idea.
