Actress Samaire Armstrong, who appeared in the hit TV show “The O.C.,” came out of the closet as a conservative in Hollywood. She encourages others like her to speak out against the forced conformity and cancel culture that permeates the industry.

When you have to "come out of the closet" for your political views, you know there's a problem.
That’s a sad reality. Their agenda is to silence the voices of half of the population into feeling borderline shameful for being a conservative man or woman of God. We have to stand our ground, combine our intellects, and stand on the right side of the line in the sand they drew. It’s almost as if they’re willing a modern civil war into existence.

Imagine the uproar if a black actress heard “they liked you, but you’re black”. How does it make sense to anyone to fight discrimination against some people by discriminating against others?
Unfortunately, this has happened to a lot of people in the industry since the beginning of Hollywood. White people are just beginning to get some of it.

So true. Hollywood is discriminatory by nature on the basis of age, gender, and race. That’s the industry she signed up for. But she went in with the understanding that, as a white woman, she was at the top of the preferred aesthetic. She still technically is, but now she has to compete with other races of women from time to time. Obviously she doesn’t like that.
I have no doubt that black actors were told that or understood this to be true back in the day. It was a different time and it doesn't make it right. What is happening now is the same. It's segregation and racism. Not inclusion.
Sonia's Scrapbook Casting calls usually have age range, race, and gender listed. Sometimes the race will say open ethnicity, depending on what the project is. Whoever is chosen for the role is usually the most marketable, not necessarily the most talented. White people weren’t told in the past that they weren’t marketable because that wasn’t true. They’re still marketable today, but so are other races of actors. So they’re having to compete with SOME of these ethnic actors for SOME of the same roles. You cant blame producers for casting actors of other races when it’s proven to be profitable.

As s long as the left gets stronger and we get weaker, it will be a losing battle.
We also have to consider doing things ‘the old fashioned way’... write and disseminate your views in hard-copy. It’s a way around big-tech censorship.

Yup COVID got me thinking too. I never did the virtue signaling, but I know folks who did just cause they didn't want to be called a racist.
I will say that I did. I felt guilty and scared that people thought I didn’t care.
@Xena People with learning disabilities receive more criticism than normal brained people, which in turn create a subconscious system of perpetual self doubt. Validation is a drug in this regard.
At this point, the narrative of the “woke” has disgusted me so much that I question everything and will do the OPPOSITE of what they propose as right/good. They are trying to make bad good, and good bad. If someone is virtue signaling, it’s an indicator that I don’t want to know them or be around them.
This is a brave girl ... I really liked her comments about how Hollywood used to be about story telling and sooo many movies and shows are ARTIFICIALLY about race, gender etc.. It's fine if it makes the story realz it not if it's just to check some boxes. Our family doesn't watch many shows today ...
Her insight was awesome! Spot on. It shows in the art. You can see the shift over time in Hollywood if you go back and watch stories from different times, even the past ten years. Someone the other day told me a show I was watching from 2000 “doesn’t age well” and I was like, “because the characters joke openly about their racial/cultural differences in a light-hearted way, which tells what feels like an authentic friendship story?” Today, we are much too uptight to appreciate authenticity anymore.
Nothing new under the sun though. We've seen them do this for a long time and from Ghostbusters 2016 the quality of Hollywood's production went downhill steep and very fast. They don't even seem to learn from the fact that ALL their woke movies tank.... The days for actors to live in huge mansions will probably be gone as well coz the streaming services just don't bring in what the box-office did and they were stupid enough to let movie theaters go out of business as Hollywood thought they had streaming services. In the current movie industry I don't see any movies making 2 bln anymore, most even struggle to get the half billion, which is gonna be devastating for the salaries of the actors.
Also, even if they did create an artificial product, at least it's new. What I don't understand is all the tampering of the classics in television or film with rebooted versions and even cartoons. Lest we forget comics.

Spider Man was has always been my favorite Super Hero comic book type! After watching the last Spidy movie, I was so disgusted by the PC, that I have not watch another Super Hero movie or any other HollyNutLand movie, since.

Finally they're starting to speak up.
I grew up in the 90's and always knew (truly) strong, beautiful women like her exsisted. To train to make herself strong, to stay true to who they are, to be courageous even when fear and doubt feels like a boulder crushing and weighing you down.
I'm so happy that she embodies these traits.
You're judged by the company you keep. She takes Hollywood's money. Hence she is part of the problem.
I do remember her from some shows about 15 years ago. She’s the type of actress who deserves to be elevated. Seems like a great girl and her Dad did a fantastic job!
I also like that her name is Sam which was my Dad’s name, is my sisters name and my son’s name!
She's in tons of recent Lifetime movies.
Wow a Hollywood crush I forgot I even had in high school haha. I seriously thought there were like no conservatives in Hollywood. I’m glad she is using that warrior spirit to get out there and speak up.
there's actually a lot of them usually older but there are quite of them younger but just too scared to have their career ruined so they pander to the left. jon voight, clint eastwood, bruce willis, tim allen, just to name a few are conservatives and are open about it. bruce is a bit cautious though.

The only way to combat this opposition is to educate your fellow man. That's how it started, if you can convince your opponent that their stance is wrong or at the very least questionable, then the battle is won before the first bullet is ever fired.

We’re going to see a massive exodus of celebrities from Hollywood. I already know that Clint Eastwood, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Pratt, Zachary Levy, and Jon Voight are all conservatives. I really enjoy all of the movies these guys have made, and I hope they don’t get “canceled” when they are more vocal about their beliefs and opinions.

They are conservatives preaching to the choir. I start listening to liberals who are starting to wake up. I don't always agree with people like Russell Brand, Joe Rogan, etc, but they have a huge liberal fan base. When they start speaking up against things like covid passports, Bill Gates buying up farmland, etc, liberals are hearing it.

It’s happening already. Just do your part. I cancelled my Amazon, all my cable subscriptions, my Facebook, never had Twitter, etc. I will not go to a sporting event or pay to watch any on TV. I don’t go to the theater. Do your part.

I've heard there are a small number of conservative actors and actresses in Hollywood, but they are usually pretty quiet about their views. I know many would urge them to speak up, but I also know that many are quiet because of many who arevthe most powerful in Hollywood are very liberal far on the left I guess and would probably blacklist them so they can't get anymore work in the entertainment industry. I can believe that, its sad, but I do think that is true. There are some however that are known as conservatives, not sure if they have had such a hard time from there.

Unfortunately, it would seem we reached a point in time in our culture where we as a People can't afford to remain silent. The Left has become so openly radical the only cultural counter is for everyone in disagreement with their radicalism to be unapologetically vocal. Today, silence toward such dangerous ideology even if you think you need your job, is soft complicity. It's the equivalent of standing on the side lines and silently resenting the open march of Third Reich soldiers through your neighborhood. There's always a difference between looking for a fight as the Left does and being forced into one. As a conservative, whether you like it or not, you are being forced to fight and if you don't push back you will be run over by the mob sooner or later🇺🇸✝️
All of these actors should come together and create their own movies, tv shows, content, e.t.c. They all have so much talent between them. I'm so glad more people are standing up. The OC was one of my favorites!

She used to be on this great series a few years ago that I was really bummed got cancelled. I like her an an actress. I had no idea of her political leanings, and I typically don't want to know, but hey she's speaking from the heart and standing up to cancel culture. I'm all for that, no matter what side of politics a person lands on. Cancel Culture is PC culture on steroids' and it's bad, really bad.

Powerful. Thank you for rising up. My mother raised me to be a warrior too. She was a woman in a men's world back in the 1960s and 70s. She was even let go when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, because the "bank couldn't afford for her to be out." Imagine that today.

Hollywood of today has lost me. I watch the old movies and show on YT and when those are taken away from me, I will go back to reading books. I don't need them or athletic entertainers to force feed us their political opinions. So bye bye Hollywood. I've already got rid of cable tv, and I am very adaptable. Besides, some of the nonsense in the media and their adverts are childish, to say the least, IMO.
