This show was truly ahead of its time. Nostalgia for the 80's didn't really start to creep in until the late 2000's/Early 2010's, so it would have had more of a chance of lasting longer than one season today, only we wouldn't have the fabulous cast!💖
I think you're right. If the show was made ten years before, OR ten years later it would've survived. The Wonder years premiered in the late 80s and it was about the 60s era. At least 25-30 years need to elapse.
This is still an incredible show, who knew that the cast would all become well know superstars years after its cancellation? It was one of those shows, along with "My So Called Life", that really understood the trials and tribulations of being a teenager.
It seems like every time I wonder, "Wow, who put thus cast together?" the answer is Allison Jones - she won an Emmy as Casting Director on Freaks and Geeks. She did the same job for great shows like The Office, The Good Place, Arrested Development, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Veep, Parks and Rec, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and many more. She also cast movies including Barbie, Bridesmaids, Lady Bird, Scott Pilgrim v The World, Superbad, and The 4--Year-Old Virgin. She's a bit of a legend in Hollywood.
Disregard these other comments.. Apatow himself said that the budget was cut (already being pretty low), and he didn’t want to see the quality of the show worsen, so he ended it.
Damn I am disappointed this time! Linda Cardellini was the #1 (great choice!) and you do not even mention ‘ER’! She was Samantha Taggert for 6 years! It was her biggest main stream role at the time. Also very disappointed that there was no mention that Busy Phillips and Linda were both on ER together at the same time. As loyal fan. This one felt kinda lazy.

Martin Starr also had a recurring role on Hawaii Five-O. It wasn't a major role, but he popped up several times over the years. I discovered this show back in 2011. It was pretty popular at the time, I remember alot of people in my school were obsessed with it. Some teachers would even let us watch it during study hall. Great show, I wish it had lasted longer. I don't think I'd be interested in a revival though. This show is, in my opinion, iconic. They'd just ruin it. The cast was fantastic, the humor was spot on. I feel like a revival would just be an all new group of kids with cheesy writing. Like, it wouldn't be as good.
I’m glad James Franco got to be a part of my Spider-Man childhood years who played Harry Osborne and Seth Rogen comedy movies and Martin Starr Silicon Valley and MCU as Peter Parker’s teacher
You all completely skipped over the successor show "Undeclared" which a lot of Freaks characters were a part of and was supposed to be the Freaks And Geeks spinoff

the cast of freaks and geeks was just like champions league. every single one them had iconic career paths and i'm so proud of them :')

I just discovered this show yesterday. How did it not get at least 2 seasons? It is really really REALLY good.
It was made at the wrong time. Too soon after the actual 80s.
Too many things left unanswered...i guess its too late to ask for a new season huh😅😅..
Nobody want to see the elder cast - the kids - because they look different as adults
