Jordan Peterson is a man who brought my life back on track. It was heavily derailed. All ONE must do is listen and take steps. He will probably never know that but I owe him my life. He managed to reshape my soul with his words. I will always be thankful for that.
Perhaps realize that he is just a man and has as many limits as you. That he helped you by saying certain things is a good thing, I suppose, but to say you OWE him your life is a burden you place on him and a limit you place on yourself. He reshaped your soul? And that's okay with you? Well, there's nothing else I could possibly say to that except maybe good luck.
I love what Jp said. It's not about getting to a place where you are safe to say anything and are protected from all consequences, the protection comes from knowing what you are talking about and continuously working on yourself so your words and behaviors don't need consequences

@@nickgivesomeinfos8230 @Collin Bell There is an FBI document that claims Nikola Tesla is from Venus. I'm undecided if I think whether JBP was alluding to the same about Elon.
2:07 One of the greatest responses I've heard in several years: "Being protected and secure does not give you courage to say what you have to say." That's true wisdom. All the greatest people in the Bible delivered their exhortations at times of unprotected speech. Many of them suffered great hardship, imprisonment and even death for their "unpopular" messages. I once closely knew a great Messianic Jewish man who is one of the worlds foremost biblical scholars working in a pastoral and evangelical role. He did not have courage to exhort people to repentance and spiritual circumcision. Over the years it costs him as he declined spiritually and his teaching lost its impact for the gospel. I told him a few years ago that, "There may come a day when we all won't be 'free' any longer to speak the truth in public and teach the Bible, God and Christ." I just wish God would put the spirit of Elijah on some of these brilliant people of faith and give them courage like Daniel. Thank you for speaking up Mr. Peterson! So true. God bless.
The Bible is not the text to learn highest truth from.. The "Book of Truths" is, my friend. If you've ever grieved the loss of a loved one...then you didn't love them..
ok seriously, the bible is a work of fiction. People in the bible who spoke in times of unprotected speech are not heroes. They did not exist. Its easy to be a hero when you are in a fairy story.
Elon: I’d like to colonize Mars and make humanity a multi-planetary species. Peterson: Well hey man, it’s like if that’s what you want to do I mean, it’s like fair enough.
Elon: I run an electric car business, a solar panel company and an aerospace company to help humanity deal with climate change. Peterson: climate change isn't real. Oh, and also the climate isn't real. If Musk had any integrity he would shred Peterson for his nonsense, but expecting integrity from Musk is like expecting vigorous research from Rogan or intellectual humility from Peterson. All 3 have devolved into grifters
@@finnianreilly1831 There's an old "Conspiracy Theory" that originally came from a British Author about the elites of the world being a race of shape shifting reptile lizard people. This has many iterations now but many times it's brought up in jest to joke about how out of touch some elite Politian's are, or how inhuman and insincere their emotions seem. Mark Zuckerberg is another example. People often joke that he's a Reptilian.
This is some of this nicest looking podcast footage I've seen. The framing, the way the two people are placed in the open space, the lighting. Looks great.
Peterson has the enviable talent/ability to think before and as he's talking, and seems to have no fear of stopping to clarify or even change what he's saying as he thinks it through. If he misspeaks, he owns it, clarifies it and moves on. I always feel he tries very hard to honestly express his thoughts. And I have to smile when he shuts down people who try to twist his words back at him...basically giving them a public spanking.
Yep, every time he thinks, he makes more money. What a thinker! People say he is a grifter. So what, money talks. Like Christian Bale said in American Psycho - "Greed is GOOD!"
Great job to the interview host to stay on-topic. When Dr. JP starts going off tangent and talking about Steve Jobs a bit too long, Chris skillfully turns the conversation back to Elon Musk. People have no idea how valuable this skill is.
It's not exactly rocket science, and you can bet it's all heavily edited because people like Jordan ALWAYS find the tangent because they like to talk about what they think about rather than what the interviewer is asking about - this won't be the entire thing by a long shot.
@@lunachilde2000 Is he? I know he's a casual racist/patronizing sexist who calls western men in mixed marriages with adult Asian women (western or not), pedophiles and then crucifies them with cashed up lawyers when they they take his unapologetic arse to court. Talk about a mean Elitist little twerp. But out of touch, Narcissistic? Sure probably but he's hardly Hitler and he's quite entertaining and his push into the space exploration thing was much needed. Definitely a Brat though!
It seems like humor, but in reality its just the pop culture he's comfortable with. Understand that the reptilian thing comes from V in the 80s, that was when Jordan was in his 20s so it probably sticks in his head more than anything in pop culture today - so when those kooks start talking about reptilian aliens among us for real he just thinks to himself "oh yeah that thing from V!" and notes it down for a bit of levity. Levity is important for Jordan because he knows a 2 hr lecture needs to be broken up by more than speaking pauses - he didn't get to this point by being sloppy at public speaking.
THAT is precisely what MAKES a great interviewer GREAT. Too many people don't actively listen, they have a set list of questions beforehand, and call it a wrap after the clock is up. If anyone here remembers Art Bell ("Coast To Coast AM" the name of the show, on AM radio back in the day), he was also a true interviewer, he excelled at his craft. George Noory that took over the show for him absolutely blew it, he had no interview skills whatsoever! Total garbage. He would never expound on the guests answers to questions, and you could tell he was just reading from a list of questions, and they were usually really weak, uninteresting questions at that! Totally ruined the show he was gifted. I stopped listening after he took over.
ya fckn fascinating. two white men having a boring conversation about a billionaire. Asking questions in response to the last thing said.... like how conversations typically go. mind blown!!!!!
I love Jordan's quiet admiration for men and women who have no fear in letting the world know what they think and believe in. He shares that quality with Elon and others; he is a champion of it. The times we live in require men and women who are cut from that same cloth. His teachings have proven that we must first be honest with ourselves in order to grow and break the self-destructive cycle we may find ourselves in. More and more society is realizing that we need to do that with each other, regardless of the expense of offending.
He does follow a noble path and brings much to many who listen to him. Like all humans he is also fallible. He has been found to talk rubbish too and avoids accountability and keeps moving forward. Why? Because part of make of public figures is their thirst for attention.
@@valuerjtp7 How is it that "talking rubbish" is thirsting for attention in your mind. I don't think you are making any sense and are trying to simplify a very complex issue, which is that humans are pretty deviant creatures with a plethora of different opinions, and having them, even if they seem monstrous to you, does not mean they are malicious, egotistical or "thirsting for attention". If you disagree with a point of view, make plausible arguments to try and challenge it, don't just assume the moral high ground.
@@ericjiang4282 It wasn't about saying whatever you want, but that the only way to be able to speak your mind when you're famous/rich/powerful is if you were doing it already all the way to that position. Not the other way around.

Run for office, run on your beliefs. Nope they just sit in their cocoons pondering their navels and talking about inconsequential rubbish. Jordan's a lightweight. He also talks fast and struggles to slow down and let time build between his views. I have seen him slowed down by other talk shows and he struggles to keep up. What's that saying? 'never trust a man who talks fast or talks too much.'
The concepts and focus of these two have really helped me in my attempts to stay on track after so many years of bad events and unforeseen challenges. Thank you both.
The part where JP talks about professors , security, & saying what you really want to say, is the gem of the entire conversation, not Elon. Lol. Brilliant.
When I thought I couldn’t like, respect and admire Elon more, he welcomed the GREAT Jordan Peterson. There’s something beautiful in walking the world in the same era as them
He is absolute right by saying "You will not be courageous when you are well protected". Looking at all tenor professors in universities, how many of them are standing up for real freedom of people when government crackdown Canadian people now?
Dennis Richie and Steve Jobs died a week apart from each other. Dennis wasn't even mentioned as it was all Jobs coverage. Richie was one of the co-creators of the C language and the UNIX kernel - both which are substantially more relevant as ground breaking technology. Jobs had an eye for design, I support Wozniak.

I would like to say that Elon is a snake oil salesman, which is why the more he appears the worse his companies do. I would also like to say good ole JP's new Christian bit has made him tens of millions.
"Maybe he's aiming up, me too". Such a lovely sentiment and an acknowledgement for one's own achievements, and at the same time acknowledging that you acknowledge another's. It's just lovely
? ?! ???!!! Ooooyyyveeeeyyyyy...... Peterson's achievements are entirely his own. Musk's "achievements" are entirely down to several teams of engineers and his bank account. Putting all of that at Musk's feet is like showing off Pixar's output prior to the Disney acquisition and pointing to Steve Jobs as the reason it all happened. _Is he a shrewd investor and businessman?_ Yes. _An extremely talented salesman?_ Without a doubt. _A once in a lifetime engineering talent, worthy of taking the credit of several teams of engineers?_ The fuck you been smoking boi ?!?!?! Of course he isn't!! This is what people mean by cult of personality - the real talent fades into the dust of time while this prat born to money gets all the credit and more.
@@_shundra_3182 Actually I think 1Time Slime is right. Watch the podcast of Lex Friedman with Peterson for reference. There he talks in detail about “aiming up”.
Elon is no Nikola! Elon is a character , an entrepreneur with money. Nikola was a true scientist , a true inventor. He had no money and he wasn't an entrepreneur. look what he did! Elon has money and is just selling an idea and a nice looking electric vehicle and that idea is not new. He has just repackaged it like all great entrepreneurs do. He is not necessarily for the people like Nikola was as you see any advancements that are done under Elon are for selling something to people. for profit. gadgets, and batteries and things. Nothing wrong with that 👌 but he just does not compare to Nikola Tesla
His comment on genuine courage was so inspiring. It makes plenty of sense! We don’t build courage or bravery by speaking up on things when we’re safe and secure.
Speaking your mind has gotten me in trouble for most of my 84 years and I know the same can be said for Dr. Peterson. He is constantly berated by those who have no clue as to how brilliant this man is. If they knew, they would just shut up, sit down and listen, and if I really had something to say to say it briefly and know that I might be the smartest person in the room, something my father constantly drove into my mind. As I got older, I became more appreciative of his remarks and wisdom. Great interview. And I loved the "alien" remark.
Even in a casual interaction like this one JP produces amazing truths (his example of academics not being authentic throughout their careers, aiming to start speaking their mind when they are professionally "secured", was excellent!). Thanks for the clip.

Elon Musk did not start Tesla. Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning were co-founders of Tesla, aiming to produce what became the Tesla Roadster. They attracted investment from Musk, who was granted a chairman of the board position with his investment in 2004, during Tesla's first funding round.
True, but Tesla would never have achieved what it has without Elon. The later models (S, X, Y, etc) are VERY different machines from the original Roadster. The new version Roadster that hasn't begun production yet is also VERY different and quite frankly is just a BEAST of a car. The original Founders were incapable of taking it beyond where they had, but Elon took their efforts to the next level. I'm not saying that Elon was a better engineer, but he certainly understood the business and manufacturing elements on a whole different level than them.
SpaceX also hasn't reduced the cost of launches by a factor of 10. In reality it's around 10 percent. They also didn't invent self-landing rockets, NASA did this many decades ago. The Boring company hasn't revolutionized tunneling either. I would think someone like Peterson would be more critical and not accept tweets from someone with clear sociopathic tendencies as fact.
@@AJBramwell The US government was the first to do it successfully while experimenting with single stage to orbit ideas. Later Blue Origin demonstrated the ability to land a rocket again, and then not long after, SpaceX pulled it off with an exceptional difference. So far, SpaceX is the ONLY one to land a rocket after launching a payload into orbit. No one else has done that.
He was gonna troll than thought naah too much and added the me too. I can imagine him say when he is called out on it. "You said Elon Musk is aiming up at you". - "No, I did not say that. It is great to see Jordan Peterson open his heart to Elon Musk. It has always seemed to me that both men are so good for the human race; both want the best outcome for all. Both are amazing people and with both of them on the side of all goodness, we are safer, surer, more alive, and aware. Good show!
I am curious about the appeal of JP. He is saying obvious things that anyone with a college degree would know. He also says many ridiculous things (all meat diet, there is no such thing as climate, can't define truth or whether he believes in Jesus, etc.). He also rambles needlessly and when matched with great debaters he sounds silly (ex., Matt Dillahunty, Sam Harris). Again, I am genuinely curious about why he is obtaining an almost cult-like following.

Musk is brilliant in a fairly narrow area of expertise. But he can be childishly naive in others, probably without realising it. He seems to be particularly lacking in self awareness and self reflection.
Steve Jobs was a genius at taking other people's brilliant ideas and repackaging them in a way that captivated the public. I had a Creative Labs Nomad MP3 player two years before the first iPod came along but most of the general public still believe that he came up with the base tech.
I am by no means an Apple or Steve Jobs fan, i personally cant stand the junk they pump out, but i do respect the empire that they have built. Their marketing engine is genuinely a thing that every business should aspire to.... That being said Bill Gates (ironically) has a quote that i think sums them up perfectly. "I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it' - Bill Gates
It wasn't even simply repackaging so much as amazingly good sales PR. That was basically 99% of Apple's schtick after the original successes of the first Apple computers. But yeah - 100% he was an ass who loved to take credit for stuff he didn't think of first. t's built into Apple's DNA like they suddnely turned around after years of the Samsung Galaxy Note and declared that phablets were actually worth having 😑 Samsung's like: "Yeah we know genius it's been one of our biggest sales drivers, what clued you in?!"

Chris's style and content of interviews is getting better each time.
He actually listens to the answers and develops his next few questions !
@@yehor_ivanov and as himself he's dull.
I posted a link to a Hugo talks video about Musk which was done recently, it's on his website if you search Hugo talks. It's a starting point to what Musk is like.
Nearly all people who are rich and famous are allowed to be for a controlled reason, with very little exception (I do think Joe Rogan is an exception actually, not that I'm a fanboy, I don't think he's a brilliant mind, but his popularity is a freak accident and certainly not intentional)
He is just a dude who enjoys sci-fi, then commands teams of brilliant engineers to build what ever strange idea he dreams up. But he is the world's leading spin doctor, I'll give him that.
Elon is probably wrong:

The Psychological Savage: "....he's probably an alien...."
interviewer: keeps going
The Psychological Savage: ".........probably reptilian..."
me: effing LOLZ
Having worked at Apple during the second Jobs Administration, I can tell you that he often demanded the impossible from his engineers and almost always got it. I'm inclined to view Musk as another Jobs, although not as eloquent. Jobs was a master showman, too. People broke down doors just to hear a Jobs speech. I enjoy Musk's blunt manner, particularly when aimed at politicians. Jobs would kiss their butts (Al Gore).
“By the time they’re protected and secure, they aren’t who they were and they don’t know what they think.”
JP no more no less. Intelligent words for an intelligent man!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
"Why are you converging?" By far the most underrated question that leads to innumerable answers.
when he said "I didnt get to go on a ride =( " i felt that
he looked sad.
@@andres3665 He always looks sad tho.
I don't think it bothered him 🤷♂️
Yeah, you can tell it was devastating.
He wasn't bothered by that , he was there for more important things. He included that as a anecdote , possibly to emphasize that he appreciates the vehicle without having been impressed by the superficiality of riding in it.
I have huge respect for both of them.
Authentic people often do a lot more in life and live more fascinating lives, it feels like they don't waste their mental and physical energy by pretending to be somebody else.
Oh damn! I remember a time when the comment section would have been an argument about reptilian shapeshifters. I miss those days.
Yeeaahah man - we've been ritually dissuaded from that particular path of unfolding revelations 😒
I hope Dr Peterson gets to meet Elon privately to get to know him
Why?
i got the distinct feeling that jordan didnt like the cut of elons jib, but was just trying to be polite.
That would be interesing, Mr. I'm getting emotional fast Peterson (which is ok for me by the way) meeting Mr. I don't have a clue about how to be emphatic towards others feelings Musk (to be fair he is on the autistic spectrum, still don't like him). I think it would be a disaster, or they would just be polite for the cameras and not connect in reality.
Don't hold your breath. People like Elon never expose themselves to situations where they can be made to look like idiots. Have you ever seen Elon in an in-depth conversation about technology, with someone who is actually an expert on that technology? He would be picked apart.
@@BjornMoren Nah, he talks at length on the spot about propulsion technology in several interviews on Everyday Astronaut’s channel, it’s you who don’t know what the f**k you’re talking about 🤡
Great content. Thank you for the interview
Sound design feedback: recommend leaving just a little background noise when nobody is talking. If its fully cut, we have the impression the video ended if we listen to it with the screen off.
Cheers
im just amazed that Dr, Peterson is always showing and connecting us to a really wonderfull podcasts
Good luck bro
And i want to be Elon Musk 😍
i like how JP explained about being protected and saying what you think, it's not what you think.
His deep understanding of flow of emotions is pretty spot on
“He’s probably a reptilian” thank you Dr. Peterson I love that idk why he didn’t laugh at your joke
Hope Jordan Peterson is doing well. He looks and sounds fatigued here. Wishing him many years of good health.
He got the first jab. When Med Beds come, they can heal that part, and anything else!
I believe you!
I reckon Musk is the real life embodiment of David Bowie’s Man Who Fell to Earth.
They used that meme in the Simpsons episode where he seeks inspiration from Homer
They both have pure honesty in common, great to see👌🏴
Would love to see JP & Trudeau on a podcast together 🤣
I also enjoy watching humiliation porn.
20 minutes of Elon's time is a lot!
I want to see a interview between Jordan Peterson, Alex Jones and Elon musk together in one 3 hour long podcast. We need THIS
Yeah.....just need Graham Hancock to make up the full set of
fruit loops !
@@2msvalkyrie529 JOE ROGAN!!
Alex Jones - the wacko that says Sandy Hook was a hoax!?!? Remind me how many children died? No thank you.
And for a mind like this to say "I don't know" gives so much hope to the rest of us, and knowing in the depth of one's soul that not knowing how to answer this world's questions is ok, for a well lived life inevitably leads to something better.
He was very reserved and coy about his description of the meeting… who is drooling at the thought of a Elon JBP podcast. It could possibly be the most listened to podcast ever. I can’t imagine where those two minds would go.
'being protected and secure does not give you the courage to say what you have to say'... deep but also, I am just starting my career w/ lots of student debt... hoping the courage exists within me and I was accurate in calling my decisions to remain quiet 'pragmatic'
I get you, Dr Peterson. However, I spoke my mind all the way up until the moment I graduated college, realized I had a huge debt to pay back and really needed my job. Before I didn't care if I got fired.
💎🥰👍❤️🙏🏻
Love Jordan Peterson and Elon Musk. Two of the major good forces in the world right now. Thanks Chris for your channel!
If you value jobs, I do not see Musk as good
What Jordan said at 2:00 is so thoughtful. This is something that I've actually said myself, and now I realize he is right and I was wrong.
*I know you are tired.*
*But so they are.*
*One more step.*
*You didn't come this far to only come this far.*
*The dream is still there.*
*One more step.*
I believe in you, keep going. 🖤
Wow jordon that confession.. it sounded like a confession.. always aim up my friend your a brilliant mind and so is Elon .. always stay confident and strong with commitment!
Much respect and love
That rooms is very elegant. I dig your style man.
I find it so refreshing to hear one social personality extensively praise another, because I'm so accustomed to the opposite: one criticizing and tearing down another...
So: thank you for this video! :)
Love the interview - one misconception which I wanted to point out "he's the richest man on the planet' this is not true, there are a class of people who pretty much own the fiat money and print it.
And you don't live on a "planet"...
There's also a class of people who know you're right and also thinking Elon Musk is somehow good. Not sure how that happens but those people exist.
are we talking about " little-hats " ??? We must be ...
@@KILLER_W0LF. that economic class we are speaking of is of one religion. It's Satanism. They show up in many forms. It's convenient for them if you think it's just little hats.
@@gekkobear1650 I know it's not " just " little-hats but they are a BIIIIIG player on the world stage.I would say they " dominate " ( percentage wise ) Satanists, when it comes to " power " . Good point though.
Chris, Nice conversation.. Just a quick technical tip for your sound guy.. If you're processing the audio after the fact run a noise reduction before the noise gate. There's a distracting amount of noise that only comes through when the speaker is speaking. Otherwise everything looks professional and sounds great.
He didn’t shoot the car up “ needlessly “. It was a test launch and would have required a test “ weighted” load.
And it was fun
It's the disease that makes him say just what he means whenever he wants to. I have the same disease to a lesser degree and it's almost like I cannot fake my feelings on any topic...that I have to tell the truth. I'm a huge fan of Elon Musk, and believe he will be the single biggest influence on the future and our willingness to meet it gladly.
Daaamn the lighting and video quality on this is unreal. Very nice.. subbed!
I wish Tesla would put his mind to making affordable cars for the working class
A "folks" wagon, perhaps?
It's odd that no one has a low-tech line of cars without electronica. There would surely be a market.
The more I think about it, the more I dislike the idea, I'd recommend more efficient means of transportation
Thats the goal. Any new technology is inherently expensive. phones weren’t magically $500 or less, they used to cost over $10,000, for a basic phone without text feature, and it was the size of a brick. Now we have smartphones that cost less than $100 and do so much more its really incredible. They’re just riding the cost curve of new tech and bringing down cost as fast as possible.
Tesla is going to be a luxury sports EV company. There is just no way in hell tesla could compete with the 6 biggest manufacturers who produce 60m cars a year vs teslas 300k ish and their promised 1/4 trillion investment over a decade in ev technology vs Tesla's 40 billion over a decade. It will get bought out by a bigger manufacturer like VW or toyota
Dude that line from Peterson about Elon being an alien or reptilian had be laughing my ass off. Spot on J.P. Well played.
🧐
It was a fine mockery of extra crazy conspiracy theories.
@@linyenchin6773 That goes without saying.
@@linyenchin6773 knowing how intelligent he is I'd say it was a little more cryptic than that
@@manwithsomeplans because he's so intelligent or cuz he's all but certainly an initiate?
Turn off the noise gate. Use an aggressive/ accurate expander
Jordan: "So, do you really believe that we live inside of a computer, so, God's a programmer, and that AI is the incarnation and that we need to fuse with it?"
Elon: "I said there is a 1 in a billion chance that this is wrong."
Jordan: "The source code of your beliefs is the bible. It's literally the code of your mind."
Elon: "Wait, what?"
Jordan: "Also, my inner Freud meant to tell you that directing a phallic object thru a vacuum into a planet called Mars - Man's war god - is projection of unconscious homosexuality into the sky."
Musk is a jokester but he a Chad. Peterson needs to relax more.
Good job😉
