Kashmir is just one of those bombastic songs that we grew up with and although I love all of Led Zeppelin‘s music Kashmir is a masterpiece! There will never be another Led Zeppelin🥰 these and so many others are the rock gods of my youth.✌🏻

I hated, Rap/Hip Hop artists' taking riffs from Rock songs to use on one of theirs; however, two years ago I started watchin reactions, and it's changed my point of view. Rap fans, are seeing Rock/Metal in a new light, especially when they know the riff from a Rap song. But Mostly, because it helps break down some of those racial & cultural gaps, and brings us closer together.

    • @DGW374
      @DGW374 Год назад +1

Great point. I am also pleased to see these younger musicals artists getting into an older genre that they're not expected to like. I would add, though, that artists have always taken from other artists, just as Led Zeppelin took from Black American artists to make their sound (blues, funk, gospel). It's like it comes full circle.

Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face
    And stars fill my dream
I'm a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been
To sit with elders of the gentle race
    This world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait
    All will be revealed
Talk in song from tongues of lilting grace
    Sounds caress my ear
And not a word I heard could I relate
    The story was quite clear
    Oh, baby, I been blind
Oh, yeah, mama, there ain't no denyin'
Oh, ooh yes, I been blind
Mama, mama, ain't no denyin', no denyin'
All I see turns to brown
As the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand
As I scan this wasted land
Try to find, try to find the way I feel
Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace
    Like sorts inside a dream
Leave the path that led me to that place
    Yellow desert stream
My shangri la beneath the summer moon
    I will return again
As the dust that floats high in June
    We're moving through Kashmir
Oh, father of the four winds fill my sails
    Cross the sea of years
With no provision but an open face
    Along the straits of fear
Oh, when I want, when I'm on my way, yeah
And my feet wear my fickle way to stay
Ooh, yeah yeah, oh, yeah yeah,
But I'm down oh, yeah yeah, oh, yeah
Yeah, but I'm down, so down
Ooh, my baby, oh, my baby
    Let me take you there
Come on, oh let me take you there
    Let me take you there

That`s because you only managed to watch 24 seconds, of one of the greatest music videos ever, before you felt it necessary to stop it and start talking. This was written in 1974, when the group visited Morocco. It was released in 1975 on the Physical Graffiti album. Bonzo sadly died of an OD in 1980, and the group felt it couldn’t continue. Bonzo’s son, Jason, took to the drums for this one-off show. He certainly inherited his father’s inate talent. He called Robert, Jimmy and John Paul his three uncles as they were there for him if he needed anything after his father died. John Paul plays the bass part with his left foot driving the song onwards with the dual keyboards, Jimmy had cleaned up his act and was clean of drugs by this performance. Jimmy said this driving riff was actually the last part of another not named song. Then we have Robert, who voice is still as powerful in range and strength of being able to hold notes for such a long time. No gimmicks like auto tuning, just pure raw talent. I feel so lucky to have been a young teenager when this album was released. This live version is better than the s album version. Your appreciation for this music makes me happy as your generation will become the guardians and promulgators of this iconic group and their music after we have sprung off this mortal coil.

I recently read where he's had tendinitis/carpel tunnel for a very long time and just didn't have fluidity to play as well. Especially soloing. A song like this is easy in comparison to some of their other very demanding songs for a guitarist.
