Yes, that’s Jason Bonham on drums, son of John Bonham original member of Led Zeppelin, one of the greatest drummers of all time! who sadly passed in 1980 causing the band to break up. This is the only FULL show they have ever done since 1980. And I was VERY privileged to have been there in 2007 in London, considering there were 20 million requests for tickets for that one show! Great performance of the song and great to see them having one great night with Bonzo’s son, Jason filling in 😊

Rush's, Neil Peart would give John a run for his money. Equal in drumming skills Neil had a little more longivity, Jason has similar style as his father. Love them both Thanks Maddy.

What a talented group, John Paul Jones, the quiet but essential member of the group who can play anything, Bass guitar, mandolin, keyboards etc.. He plays the bass line with his feet whilst on keyboards. He knits the whole performance together.

What is astounding is that this performance is 32 years after the initial release date, when Robert Plant was approx 59, and Jimmy Page approx 63 years old. IMHO, this sounds as good as the studio album. They, like fine wine, have aged well. (And almost as beautiful as Maddy! 😉) ✌️ ☮️ 🎸 🎶 🎵 🇺🇸 ❤

This was a one time show to benefit the charity of their original record producer at Atlantic records who signed them in late 1968! There were 20 million requests for tickets when this was announced on-line, for an 18k+ venue, breaking the record for interest in any live performance in history! They practiced together 6 weeks after not having played as a group in 27+ years. The late John Bonham's son on drums, he was born in 1968 just before the band was founded.

Jason was born in 1966, two years before Zeppelin was founded, around the time that his father John was in Crawling King Snakes with Robert Plant. This concert was 19 years after last playing together, as Jason played with them for the 40th anniversary show in 1988. Facts are important when commenting.

What can you say.... The best rock band ever and the most mysterious rock song ever... It instantly grabs you and locks you in till the end... No escaping the power of Kashmir! Jason is a beast on the drums!! Do a Ronnie James Dio sometime...."we rock" live... With Vivian Campbell on the axe... Even though Ronnie was a little guy... Like 5'5, he just was a voice bomb!! Energy drinks could learn a few things from Ronnie and Vivian playing live...rip Ronnie 👍👍

The drummer is Jason Bonham, and yes, he played at the tribute with Heart. He's the son of original LZ drummer, John Bonham, who died in 1980.

Maddy, thanks for reacting to this video. Kashmir brought back so many memories for me. I saw Page and Plant perform this song live in Atlanta with my late brother. This concert was after Led Zeppelin had broken up. Kasmir was the best performance from that incredible concert. I think it's one of those songs that you could be completely sober and still enter into another state of mind while listening to it. It is a truly iconic rock song!

Led Zeppelin has not toured since the passing of their drummer John Bonham in 1980. Other than a couple short set benefit appearances in the 80s with different drummers and the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame induction this was a one-off full set, two encore reunion concert called Celebration Day benefit. Jason, son of the late great John Bonham sat behind his dad's preserved drum kit for this show, also used it in the Heart tribute to LZ.
    Great reaction Maddy, You Rock!

When Robert Plant was asked "why is stairway the best Zepellin song", he said "its not Kasmir is", Zepellin are not a type, or a kind of music, they are in their own stratosphere, they cannot be bracketed, they are simply the G.O.A.T.

This concert was 31 years after the release of "Physical Graffiti" one of, if not the best albums ever.
16 year old me saved up my money to buy this when it came out in February 1975.

The drummer is the prodigal son of the legendary John Bonham, the original drummer for Led Zep. He frequently appears on most drummers top 10 lists. He is also known in the drumming world for his specific style of drumming. Its refered to as "Bonham Triplets.". Jason Bonham knocked it out of the park at this concert and at some others ive seen.

Plant's non-syllabic indicator is the Robert Plant Siren! Also this is a "soak in the glory of rock" kinda anthem.
On a serious note, Kashmir, this "debatable zone" around the modern state of India is still a going concern (though not as much a Sikh Punjab independence perhaps.)
He did a ton of Zepplin in his solo Tours, because, IMO, he was the unreplaceable unit.
Also, he has a great sense of humor, he played Dread Zepplin (treat yourself) on his pre-show speaker reel!

Led Zeppelin was a band formed in 1968 and that lasted until 1980, the band ended precisely due to the death of its drummer (John Bonham) at the age of 32 in 1980. The three remaining musicians (Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page) concluded that it wouldn't be worth continuing without the drummer.
This performance in the video above was one of the few special reunions they held after the band's end and took place in 2007, the three musicians were 59, 61 and 63 years old respectively at this event. And the drummer here is Jason Bonham, son of the deceased original drummer, and the same one who participated in Heart's performance.

Being old enough to have been around when they sprang on the music scene, there was nothing about this performance that was gratuitous. They were not trying to recapture some past glory, they were and are perfectly comfortable with their place in musical history. They were performing one time in a tribute concert for a friend. Their talents may have slightly diminished, but this version is certainly not in the remotest way any type of embarrassment. I have seen other critiques compare to favorably to the original. IMHO A CLASSIC VERSION

Yes Jason Bonham Johns son is on 1 of his fathers drum kits. John bought him first drum kit when he was a year or two old. So If anybodies fit to replace John it would be Jason.

They’re all in their late 50’s except for John, that’s probably why no crotch shots.

Whilst this is a great version with Robert Plant's voice standing the test of time the only one to watch is the 73' live version. In a different league.

As old as they are here...they were in their early 60s....still the greatest!! John Bonham s son...the original drummer who died in 1980 ending the band.
