Considering this was their first concert for god knows how long. The drummer did his dad proud . They are very talented
When I heard about him taking over for his dad I actually, as a grown man, teared up. Not ashamed at all
Jason kicked ass! Dad should be smiling down for sure!!!
This is my favorite Zeppelin song. I bought this album back in high school in 1975 and wore it out.
Here, 31 years later with Jason Bonham taking his dad's place, it is still timeless.
Yes it was in Godzilla.
Well. Being a hippies baby...i have a special place in my heart for Zep. I grew up listening to these guys and still listen to them today. Never gets old and any track you pick is gold!
More please!!😎
Peace and love always until there is no more!😊❤
AOD 4 eva
Back in the day, I wore out my Zeppelin LP's, 8 tracks, cassettes, and CD's, and I'm actually kind of jelly that these new generations get to experience this kind of greatness for the first time. FYI: Zeppelin is the 7th best selling artists on the planet of all time ... the list is as follows Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Queen, Madonna . . . . . Led Zeppelin.
You might remember it from The Matrix, it has the song Wake up by Rage Against The Machine, which starts the same.
Atleast its where i remember it from.
The riff has been sampled several times, and yes, it was used in the Godzilla soundtrack!
isso mesmo, é do filme 'GODIZILA' só que no filme acho que é um RAP
Led Zeppelin is a rabbithole you could fall down and not come back out of for quite awhile!! This man is AMAZING!
This band is amazing.
@@heliotropezzz333 Facts.
A rabbit hole I was forced into at birth. Can’t get enough of this band
@Plank As was I! I am forever greatful to have grown up with stoner parents who listened to great music!
@@chelseahaley8350 Same. I’m 54, the child of a Vietnam vet, stoner ex hippie dad who loved great music and introduced me from the cradle. This stuff is the soundtrack of my life. My oldest two kids are 31 and 27..my son is 12..they were all raised with this stuff playing all the time..amazing stuff to grow up to!
The dude on drums here is the original drummers son!! He KILLED it that night
Fun fact: this concert holds the World's record for most tickets requested. 20 million.
Crazy!
I know it was amazing that shows you how much the people love this band!
Jeez, That's not all, they also broke the Beatles attendance record for a single concert 78,000, & they broke every other record, there is NO band like Zeppelin, they are the G.O.A.T.
Truth. GOAT❤❤❤
Fun Fact: that was JASON Bonham on the drums. The significance of that is Zeppelin's drummer JOHN Bonham (aka Bonzo) died in 1980 tragically and unexpectedly in his sleep of asphyxiation of vomit due to acute alcohol intoxication. The tragedy was the end of Led Zeppelin.😞 Point is, John Bonham's son Jason was only 10y/o when his father passed. This performance was 27 yrs after the great John Bonham's death. It was such a beautiful thing to see his son take his place for this reunion, and even better... he's playing on his father's drum set!!!🥰
Of note: After the passing of John Bonham, the remaining members decided they could not go on with anyone else on drums... they said it just wouldn't be Zeppelin anymore. The magic was between the 4 four of them and no one could take his place. Turns out, almost 3 decades later... his son Jason was the one person who could take his father's place. Beautiful all the way around!! Great reaction and keep going with Led Zeppelin, you will get a whole new appreciation for music and quite a lesson on how art inspires art. Zeppelin are masters at honoring their musical idols and creating a whole new sound for us to enjoy. And funny enough... their music went on to inspire generations after them. Hell, Hip-Hop and Rap artists are still sampling Led Zeppelin and many other rock artists from the 70's and 80's. Good music is good music no matter the decade. Music inspires, unites and heals light nothing else.🤗 It bridges the divides of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, social class and the like. 🤦♀ K, I'm gonna stop rambling now and just say... loved seeing how this moved you.
Members of Led Zeppelin:
- Robert Plant-vocals (and sometimes harmonical!😍)
- Jimmy Page-lead guitar (also did most of the production in the studio😉)
- John Paul Jones-bassist and keyboardist
- John Bonham- drums (in this performance it's his son Jason)
I recommend you start with 3 of their earliest and biggest hits. I can almost guarantee you've heard (and loved) bits and pieces of each throughout your life. They are ICONIC and AWESOME!!!!🙃
1.) from 1969 "WHOLE LOTTA LOVE" official vid (it's a compilation of live performances, it's fun as hell!!😜)
2.) from 1971 "STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN" live at Madison Square garden 1973 video. It's a MUST on a Zeppelin journey.😉 You'll get a better feel for who Zeppelin is as a whole by seeing them perform this song!!! It's dang near a religious experience!!!😅 SERIOUSLY, if u wanna get a better feel on who they were together... do the live at MSG first!!!
3.) from 1970 "IMMIGRANT SONG" official vid
Just my thoughts for whatever it's worth!🤷♀ Great reaction!!👊 Peace and light...💞
RIP John Bonham🙏
6:13. . When this was recorded, Robert Plant was in his *SIXTIES* . .
How many young guys could HIT that note?
How many young guys could have that much POWER in the note?
How many young guys could *HOLD THAT NOTE FOR THAT TIME LENGTH* ?
Incredible!!
Greatest band to ever grace the planet!! As old as they were here...still the greatest!
AGREED !!!
Agreed, Yes was pretty good too
Nobody comes close!
havent played live together in over 40 years walks out and instantly destroys every band everywhere GOAT!!!
Cliff, It's up to young content creators like you to keep this amazing talent alive. Check out their live performances, all 🔥
I’m on it!!
Song Remains The Same
I would highly recommend starting from the first song on their first album and just keep going from there. Their catalogue is extremely diverse, no two songs sound alike. They do many different styles as well. Four genius musicians making real music by actually playing real instruments, no auto tune or computer stuff. Don't miss out on Zeppelin, there is nobody like them. Greatest band ever!! ✌️
Yes who ever suggested led Zeppelin big hug from me😅
Likewise😊🤗👍
Watched this live 20th row in Detroit. Played for over 3 hours best concert ever.
Hell Yeah - Bad ass indeed - you should check out when they were a bit younger and Jason’s dad Bonzo was alive and redefining rock drumming. 🤘🏼🎧🤟🏼
Back in 1975 I saw them Earl’s Court which was at the time London biggest stadium.
They did 5 shows and sold out all 85,000 tickets basically instantly. I slept outside with my 3 friends for 4 days.
For context, NO ACT EVER at the time had managed to sell out Earl’s Court twice, let alone 5 times.
To this day, the best concert I ever saw.
The greatest band ever.
Now that is an extraordinary thing to have witnessed. I am in awe and jealous. I have a bootleg from that concert.
You are totally excused not knowing their music, you are still young, i'm 54 and grew up listening to these great bands, THIS is music for me... thanks for yet again a great reaction, you should give Deep Purple a try also, their live version of child in time...
I would add the great band Mountain after Deep Purple.
None of us are worthy... These are the rock gods themselves.
Puff Daddy - Come With Me had Jimmy Page (guitarist here) play the riff from this song on it. EDIT to add: I dare you to try another of theirs called The Lemon Song.
This whole concert was a fucking miracle.
Agreed
Jason lit his dad's drum kit on fire❤ Respect, John would be SO PROUD!!
Getting a ticket for this one off reunion concert was like winning the lottery. There were 20 MILLION applications for tickets after it was announced. They hadn’t played together for over 25 years since the death of drummer John Bonham. The drummer on this event is Jason Bonham, his son.
Plant, Page and Jones were pushing 70 here.
Amazing performance for nearly 70 year olds who hadn’t played together for decades
A record number of ticket requests for that amazing show. 20 million requests for tickets is still a Guinness, book of world records.
Absolutely transcendental music, and lyrics. Otherworldly. ❤ Led Zeppelin ✌🏻
Such a commanding song, demands your attention throughout the entire thing. Amazing beat, lyrics are great once you know them. Fantastic band
Hey, the drummer, his dad used to sit there and do the same thing for this band, it's amazing to see the apple didn't fall far from the tree...
Do Led Zeppelin LIVE...Since I've been loving you from Madison Square Gardens 1973. It is one of my all time favorites.
Greatest live band ever! Check out their 70's stuff live!
They still my favorite band of all time.
I was so lucky to grow up when really great artists ruled! This is one of the best songs Zeppelin ever performed and Plant was not only a musical genius but a skilled talent. High art, the very finest, flawless.
Original drummer John Bonham's son Jason was playing drums. RIP, John!
KEEP GOING!!!!! Zeppelin is in my top 3 favorite bands of ALL TIME❤❤❤❤❤ Gosh dang they are always a vibe.
No auto tune, live 70's years old, the best rock band of all time.
They are the Greatest Rock Band of all Time!! I do not believe you when you say !First time !!Impossible
That's why over 20 million people tried getting tickets. They ended up having a lottery for tickets.
The GOATS PERIOD! No Debate! Not hip hop crap! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Yeah, no fake auto tune!
You need to check out all of their live stuff from back in the day. There is no band like them. Absolutely amazing live
While they are amazing and intoxicating even here in their later years, make sure to treat yourself to recordings and video from their prime. Robert's voice is basically one of the wonders of the world.
❤ Led Zeppelin ✌🏻
The mighty Zep. You should listen to Dazed and Confused from their early days
20 million requests for 18,000 cheering seats, Dig it !! Saw them in 1975 Long Beach Arena. My woman (19) and I (25) just happened to hitchhike from north Indiana to Southern California that Summer and got to see Led Zep for $10.50 per ticket and a 3 1/2 hour thundering concert. I have had a blessed rockin' life. And yes, part of Kashmir was in soundtrack for Godzilla. .I think it ran during the credits dude. Peace .
these guys were together for only 12 years. these men are rock gods. imagine if John Bonham didnt pass away so young.
Led Zeppelin has been my absolute favorite musical act since the mid seventies. Ren is now vying for the top spot. This is from their reunion show in 2007 when they had Jason Bonham, son of the original drummer, John, fill in. They went out sounding brilliant. Members of the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Metallica, Foo Fighters and more were in the audience that night. Tickets were sold online and they had over 20 million requests for tickets. Richard Branson offered them 800 million dollars to tour. They didn't.
*Edit: interestingly, I just saw on Instagram that it was this date in '98 that Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page was in New York recording with Puff Daddy their "Kashmir" retake, "Come With Me" for the Godzilla soundtrack.
Kashmir is definitely worth a strike. Lol. My #1 fav by Led for our heads. Legendary performance, Jason absolutely killed it on drums. John was there just grinning ear to ear saying, that's my boy, the way we all taught him. Awesome reaction. Thanks.
Gives me chills every time i hear this version
Cliff, it was fun watching this with you. I'm a 70 yo dude that did get to see them live ib 74,i think, was too fucked up to remember. Zepplin was a band that was better live than studio. The memories flood back. Thanks for sending me back to a time when music was magic.
Robert Plan was and is a legend. He made young women dream when he was with LZ. Today, he makes beautiful music with Allison Kraus; I admire him so much for taking on something new at his age. I'm also a fan of Greta Van Fleet, often compared to LZ, and would absolutely love hearing them perform Kashmir.
Get it Jimmy!! Not bad for an almost forgotten riff on Jimmy’s tape, huh? They absolutely killed this-there’s a reason they broke the world record for 20 Million tickets requested Unfortunately I didn’t manage to get one. Legends indeed!
I know ALL their songs. No mistaken Led Zeppelin!!!!!🔴🔴🔴🔴😊😊😊😊
Undeniably The Greatest Rock Band in the History of Music!
The only way to appreciate these Master’s…Listen to Album 1 to Album 10.
Yes: Live and nearly 40 years after their prime.
True GOAT's. The drummer Jason Bonham, is the son of the original drummer John "Bonzo" Bonham and he did his dad proud. The guitarist Jimmy Page was a long-time studio musician in the early 60's and formed Zeppelin in the late 60's. Always better "live" because there was always improvisation. I loved going to their concerts in the 70's.
Guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist keyboardist John Paul Jones were in their early 60s, vocalist Robert Plant was in his late 50s and drummer Jason Bonham (son of Zeppelin drummer John Bonham who passed away in 1980) was in his 40s.
It’s so hard to pick a favorite LZ song, because the music spans so many genres, but this is in my list 😌🙏
I've been a zep fan for almost 40 years and never saw the band live, i saw plant and page 2 times later, but this is one of the greatest musical performances (in terms of all 4 members having a big impact on the each part of the song). I never get tired of this song, this version, the '79 live version or the recorded version. I'm happy that you enjoyed it, but if you've not listened to zep before, you're missing out on 50+ great songs. In my opinion, this is their best, but they have tons of other songs that are definately worth listening to. If you're a zep newbie, this song, When the levee breaks, stairway to heaven, whole lotta love, please check those ones out as well. :)
Yes, Cliff! Your dad would be proud. This was sampled for 'Come with Me' so that's probably how you know it
You are both right - Come With Me was the soundtrack from a Godzilla movie. 🙂
And after being apart for decades these band members came together for a 3-4 week period preparing for this Concert, and this song sounds better than previous live performances. It's as if they got got better as they aged, epic concert.
You can't watch this and not be so proud of Jason on drums, i'm sure Bonzo is smiling from above for his son. Over 40 years after their last concert since Bonzo died.
They are LEGENDS. UNREAL musicians
This is one of the top iconic bands ever. This a point where they rarely played together live. You should go back to the early years live or studio versions.. I grew up with them.. Stairway to Heaven is the best
Zeppelin originally had this on their Physical Grafitti album released in February 1975. This tune has had so much radio airplay over the decades...many more years than you've been alive. This live performance was part of the Celebration Day fund raising concert December 12, 2007.
This is his son, Jason,...........John, l refer to............he died years ago.........
It was more............Bonham's drums are the most sampled ever............
Welcome….to the Real!
Every time I hear their music it gives me chills. I grew up on this stuff. I'm 60 years old now.
The drummer is the son of the Zeppelin's original drummer
Back in the “day” going to a concert was listening to and feeling the music that was even better live.
🇨🇦 Recorded in 1974 and released on an Album in 1975 !
Back when Rock & Roll still had *SOUL!*
subscribing in anticipation of more Led Zeppelin.
This id them in their 60s go back and listen to then in their prime, 1970s
This was 27 years after they last toured, they have been broken up since 1980, when John Bonham died, his son took over on drums and kicked ass. These guys were in their sixties for this reunion and after 27 years of not playing together for a full concert, they were unreal. At that age they are still better then any band around.
For me, I don't think "they broke up" is the correct term. I've heard Robert and Jimmy (in interviews) say that they "dis-banded". I feel that's a much better way to honor them and the circumstance that led them to stop creating music together.😊 Just my thoughts. Peace and light...💞
20 million people tried to get tickets for the concert. I remember it well.
I don't believe they performed since. I went to a concert in Denver in 2018 called Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin. They played some of the old songs and did very good, but nothing like the originals. I've also gone to a couple of Get the Led Out cover concerts. Very entertaining and about as close as you can get to the real thing these days. Funny, though. the lead singer in Plant's place looks like Howard Stern. 😂
❤ Led Zep ❤
Many bands used their sound here as sample
Fire 🔥
Best band ever!! Even when they were old. This was 27 years after they broke up!!!
pleeeasseee do some of the live zepplin from the 70's! Since I've been loving you is one of the best songs of all time. Hope we get some more zeppelin.
Off the charts.. Incredible!!
Go watch the entire concert video, It is outstanding.
This is by far my favorite version of this song
You are a good dude, brother and I really enjoyed listening to this Masterpiece with you
I witnessed this live in 1974, when the song was on their then current album. It was electrifying.
There is so much to listen for. But you have to listen to the studio version first, then the live. Greatest songs ever!!! Start with Led Zeppelin 1. You can’t go wrong with these guys, AWESOME
@Cliff Beats. Try to watch their last reunion concert Celebration Day at the 02 in 2007 so you can see for yourself why Led Zeppelin is so beloved. At that age, they can still perform at a level that's not easy - almost impossible - to replicate because their heart and soul is in every note of the songs they play. Goosebumps right from start. Tears you can't control. Maybe they are old souls reincarnated at the same time to share with us this one of a kind experience, how it feels to be in the presence of the god of rock. How you wish it will never end. But then these gods are mortal. One of them even left too early. Otherwise... Well, some good things never last. Let us just be thankful and enjoy their music. Have a nice day❤
This guy is The Golden God of Rock
React to the group FOGHAT song SLOW RIDE please
👏👏👏I second this request!!! KILLER tune and, as a bonus... we get to see his reaction when the light bulb turns on! lol!!!😜🤣😂🤣
I see people reacting to Led Zeppelin, I subscribe. One of the, if not the greatest band of all time.
The drummer did his dad proud
It's definitely a classic. Love this song. I'm mainly into hip hop, but I do have my rock mentality sometimes. 😊
Any day is a good day to get the Led out.
Best Band Ever ❤
Nice reaction, give us more 😊
They are THE BEST OF THE BEST. There are rock performers. There are rock singers. There are rock groups. THEN THERE ARE ROCK GODS!!!!
oh, there's more!!
And the singer was 59 when he was on stage there... KILLING the vocals ONCE AGAIN.
A Masterpiece of music. I've got it on at least 5 of my 7 music playlists. & on more than a few occasions I've fallen asleep to this & had some amazing dreams.
Much love to everyone from here in the UK.
LONG LIVE THE AoD & THE SEWER RATS!!!
I love seeing a persons eyes open for the first time. LED Zeppelin has been my favorite band since I was 12. I’m 67 now and still love them and don’t ever get tired of listening to them. Now you understand why so many older people are stuck in the 70’s. It was the most wondrous time to be a teenager.
