    Have been told oil on fingers can make bulbs over heat and break. Paper towel/ Clean rag. Just trying to help...

      Halogen bulbs for sure, hadn't' heard that about regular incandescents, but as a good practice sure, might as well keep 'em clean.

    I have always not touched the light bulb with my fingers. I was told long ago that the heat and the fingerprint will cause the bulb to have a short life.

      That’s correct, the oil from your fingers create a hotspot on the bulb which will shorten the life of the bulb

    I replaced my 2000 tail lights with the newer 2012 version because the back up light is higher giving better light spread when backing up. Nice video 👍🏼

    Interesting, never heard it described as a gel. Always called it a lens. Looks like a fast and easy job on your particular vehicle. Thanks.
