One of my all time favorites. Willis is great but Chris is fantastic! The scene of the shoot out in the concert hall with Chris playing the disc jockey host (all dressed up in his tuxedo dress?) and trying to hold the gun steady is beyond hilarious. Every time I watch this movie I laugh so hard that I have tears running down my face. Make sure that you are not eating or drinking when you watch it. I nearly choked on my popcorn.🙂
Tucker was destined to play that role! He was hilarious! I have watched this flick dozens of times and always look forward to his appearance. I wish they made a spinoff prequel to it with entirely Ruby Rhod it it.

And there is a deep irony that we are moving closer to that reality with this sort of behavior being normalized. Notice the comments about tiktokers. It is a sign of cultural rot that this movie, which once again is based in a dystopia, is portraying.

I disagree. I'm betting that Guardians of the Galaxy mimic this vibe (somewhat). But _only_ Guardians of the Galaxy. Other franchises have tried to mimic GotG's rhythm and flow, but utterly fail, and I can always tell the movies that are trying to mimic it: both live action Suicide Squad films and the Black Adam movie. They utterly failed. But you are definitely correct about the gender-bending Ruby Rhod. Any attempt to recreate a character like him today would be labeled "woke" by detractors.

100% true. Tucker said the script was kept secret, so he was never given direction on how to play Ruby Rhod, but the costumes helped him get into character.
I feel like Chris Tucker could only pull off this character. There are so many elements to it that only he could do right. Great movie but this was my favorite character just because of how unique he was.
