A true legend. I’ll never forget a story, true or not, of Barney having a horse running at Windsor. He arranged to stable the horse overnight at a trainer’s near Windsor. The horse box turned up with two horses onboard. Identical to look at. The day of the race the substitute horse went off and won. Brilliant. Doing the bookies is a sport of its own. RIP Barney

I think Barney is right about being a good person. I have often thought if anything happened to my girls. the only way I could survive losing them would be to channel my love into other people. Strangers. I think people suffer most when they have built up all this love for someone who disappears. Love has to go somewhere. And rather than lose himself, Barney did just that. Good for him. A cute hoor, as they say.

@Pa. D Look at Elliot and McManus handicappers or that farce with Sire De Berlais at cheltenham. People hail some trainers as genius yet when Curley did it he was chastised. Curley tried his very best to stand up for punters and support betting shops. As for the idea DAFA paid their expenses thats pure nonsense and mud slinging for the sake of it.
DAFA is dormant ?? did you do any research or just spout the first garbage that came into your head ?

I can't understand putting your own money on someone else's advice. I had Saint Roi, Al Boum Photo and Chosen Mate on the Friday. I didn't see any tipster put up three winners. Where I fall down is on how to profit from picking winners. I've taken more out of my paddy power account than I've put in, but not by much. I gave up on place pots when I realized I was getting more winners easily enough and picking the first two home in my selections, but maybe losing the placepot and not not getting anything. I don't have a system of betting. My 3 tips to live by: 1. Never back with money you can't afford to lose. 2. Don't listen to 'experts', pick your own horse and know why you've picked it. 3. Always look for value.

I started to read a book called "The Sure Thing" probably the worst written book I've ever tried to read!

Strange how people NEVER tackle a successful pro gambler on the morality of his livelihood ... Now if that was a loser gambler there would be all the usual "Oh don't you realise the harm you're doing to your family?" and all that. Curley did just 12 months honest work in his life in the chemical plant.
