- In this DCS F-15E Strike Eagle video, we will talk about the aircraft PACS or programmable armement control system. This system provide and interface with all the aircraft weapons to the pilot. Part 1 will cover the top level PACS page as well as A/A pages and functions.

As a software engineer that works on this jet IRL, this is really interesting to watch. Based on how you talk, I assume you're familiar with the jet either as a pilot or maintenance. It's really interesting hearing you talk because I can confirm a lot of, if not all, is true to life accurate. That's pretty cool. I was hoping someone would make a good F-15 model for DCS and based off hearing you speak, I am pretty confident this is going to be an excellent aircraft.

This guy must be an Eagle driver. I met a few in my active days and they're mostly all high speed egg heads and cool people. Same with the viper pilots i knew. The smoke pit was a popular place ...

I would love being able to play with that RCS selection deal. If you've got the jump on someone with a bunch of energy, you could set the missile to go pitbull super late, giving them minimal time to react. I like that kind of Top Sneaky.
I wonder if that will be a programmable feature available in DCS or not, would he beautiful to pit bull at 5nm and give them absolutely no warning before getting obliterated.

I have heard about a Q4 2022 but for all I know it could be Q2 2023

Would love to see some WSO stuff
Pretty much anything you can do from the front you can do in the back, only difference is you get an extra screen
and no control over what goes foward so nothing of what was shown in this video can be done by the WSO 🤣🤣
It is basically identical to the pilots actions.
AFAIK the WSO has their two side sticks, the left one controls the left pair of MPDs, the right one, the two on the right.
While the pilot selects one of their three displays with the sensor select switch, the WSO selects left or right, the pilot has the TDC as cursor, the WSO the stick movement.
So wait is this gonna be like a full module? Like is it going to be sold through ED? Sorry I'm newer to DCS and not super familiar with third party stuff (at least I think it's third party)
It would be a full module, like previous Razbam releases: the AV-8B and Mirage 2000C ;)

Well, 4 SDBs per 2000lbs bomb rack, so up to 28 should be possible. And depending on if it clips with the sdb rack or not, theres also the possibility of carrying 4 LGBs for moving targets at the same time as the 28 SDBs for stationary targets. Plus 4 A/A missiles. And enough gas to go across an entire map and back at full mil.
@@play3rthr339 Actually according to the -1 Configuration you can only load the Bru-61 w/ 4* SDBs on station LC/RC 1&3 and Station 5 ... Making it a total of 20 SDB. Also I dont think you can load munitions on the 46s with the Bru-61 in the way... I could be wrong about that though.
Is the module's button pushable like the f18 or is it more like using keyboard bindings?

The cockpit panel isn't nearly as nice as the one in the F-14 or F-16. Hope they improve it.
Same thoughts F14 feels like it has a soul whereas a lot of modules feel like they have the same basis

Will this aircraft have a HMCS and have the ability to carry 9x's?
HMCS is planned for implementation after release. Not sure on 9x but realistically it shouldn't be a large amount of work to get the 9x working on it. Probably more a matter of if they want it to have the 9x, rather than if they can implement it.

I would like to make a suggestion that I've never seen, I guess it's not a big deal, but it may not be that hard to implement; no patina. At least in the cockpit, I really don't care what you do outside. I know, I know, maybe it's not "realistic", but for me, I've never seen a patina I like, it adds no immersion for me whatsoever, and it always looks like patina from FSX days or something. So if you could have a "No Patina" special option box for this jet to where when we start up the cockpit is like new, that would be awesome.
Realistically this would mean a brand new cockpit, and thus no small amount of texture work is needed to implement this. Your best bet is to wait for someone to release a community version like alot of the other jets have. I'm kinda in the sams boat tho, but it depends on the quality of the wear and tear. I used to use cleanpit for the hornet, which is a factory cockpit, but i recently swtiched to the CF-18 cockpit which is a nice middle ground that also adds some nice color to the otherwise bland looking hornet cockpit.

why can't they just put all the nice features from all the jets into every jet. Like that ultra wide hud with a flir repeater is pretty cool. They have it on the viper, too, but not the US version. Why can't they make one hud and make the symbology consistent for every single one of them? It would drive retraining costs down, production costs down and it would probably make a better product. Why have ancient CRT screens when lightweight, reliable, high resolution, full color LCDs are cheap and available? Every jet seems to have this ease of use thing or just generally neat workflow or concept. If they were to just roll them all into one everything would be cheaper and better. Why can't that happen? For example, why can't you put MGRS into the F15E? Why can't we have IRST? Why can't we type the waypoint for an airport and instantly set TCN and ILS and CRS for us? Why no FM radio? It's not required of course. But it would be nice to have.
Please make sure it has correct speeds. its should be faster than F 16
I wonder if this will need a more powerful computer than the other modules, given the amount of screens and all.
Yeah the extra screens don't do much for performance, the only way it would is if you had all of them displaying the tpod/flir, which you probably can't do and idk why you would.

@@hmleao every Razbam module has had fm issues of some sort that take time to get fixed or ironed out. There are also typically aircraft systems issues that hopefully won’t be a thing since the strike Eagle shares so much of the software with the f-18
