For sure. Roth is an incompetent director and only makes films for shock value or when he tries to go to other genres just stinks. Del Toro and Miike have good stories also can span over to other genres with usually amazing results.
@A Scam Involving Corndogs His passion for horror is really impressive and I do like the guy, but yeah I must admit he's not good at executing his ideas. Still good for cheap thrills though.
Roth offers nothing in terms of cinematic vocabulary or or art. Tarantino was the same when I saw him,on a round table discussion between directors. No depth, no artistic imagination. This isn’t an art for them. Miike has done so many different genres and styles of cinema - from drama to extreme violence to super heroes fantasy and horror to,to all of those wrapped up in a crazy yakuza.
@@velvetgristle7252 Your bullshit meter is through the roof, my friend. The pathetic part is that y'all think you know what you're talking about, but you really don't. Miike shat the bed countless times, and that's completely fine. Comparisons won't get you anywhere-if anything, they will drug you into staying delusional, which is really something you should try not to be.
@@ranthemillb.822 Of course Miike has made some crap. But he has also made some of the best films of the last 30 years. Roth talks a good film but he's yet to make one. I'm saying that Roth hasn't proven himself to be a good filmmaker in my opinion. Roth is so in love with Asian and Italian exploitation cinema that he tries to make films in their style. Miike makes films in his own style.
Fuck, what I wouldn't give to spend an evening drinking and talking movies with these guys!
It’s wonderful to me to watch takashi miike talks tho omg I idolise him way too much thank you for posting this
Chill out zillakami
Guillermo Del Toro, Eli Roth & le grand Takashi Miike dans la même pièce, une dinguerie!

"the callback", the sequel to "audition" ... almost spilled my coffee over the monitor. :D
the callback ? That’s not even a movie. Audition never had a sequel
cool interview, thanks for this!
Haha! Roth. He's not very good at directing but he's also gotten a few great gems out there too.
Great vídeo!!!
the rareness
I hate Eli Roth and think he is a hack director but I love Miike and Del Toro...they are legends

Ci vorrebbero i sottotitoli in italiano
Roth is out of place. Very out of place.

@@Teripictures He's not wrong, though. Miike is what Tarantino would like to be, but he never quite succeeds.

eli roth captures that evil gleam in every one of his antagonists eyes. thats talent.
@@marvinnashsear watch hostel 1 and 2 and then watch part 3 and then say roth isnt at least a decent film maker
A great director (Miike) with a bunch of hacks.
Del Toro is a hack to you?
