this guy deserves to be one of the most subscribed anime related channels on youtube
+Prof Fezzy The amount of passion, effort, and information he adds into his videos is amazing. No one comes close!
+Prof Fezzy If you do some digging there's a few channels like that. Like HyperAnimeReviews and Pause and Select.
definitely not theanimeman etc
+CloudManPT DIGIBRO. his videos are way better.
Miskir Weldezion i prefer this guy over digibro. i just really like his editing and his videos
P.A.Works is my favorite studio. Their art style is so relaxing and every single of their anime has god-tier OST. Even their underrated shows like Tari Tari has heartwarming stories.
I just realized they haven't done any manga or LN adaptations. Most of their shows are originals or adaptations of novels. That's odd but really nice!
I guess Ya Boy Kongming of this year is the first manga adaptation by them?
@@KMO325 yes, it is.
This studio had way more going on than I ever thought. This was really enlightening.
PA Works is one of my favorite studios yay
Also I can't believe you left out clips from Another! That anime may be terrible, but the art style of absolutely gorgeous.
Wow, P.A Works is awesome, never knew. Guess I need to go watch Nagi no Asu and Hanasaku Iroha.
+TheHoennHippo - Anime Reviews It is absolutely amazing, well the animation the story is good but the animation is what sells it.
And Shirobako. Don't forget Shirobako!
One is a romance drama, the other is a slice of life drama with a touch of comedy.
P.A. Works is literally one of my favorite animation studios only second to Studio Ghibli.
Just finished Hanasaku Iroha today. This is the kind of show that I want from the slice of life genre. It actually feels like capturing a moment of someone’s life rather than just an episodic series of high schoolers messing around. I don’t have a problem with shows like those but Hanasaku Iroha was able to scratch that itch I was looking for in slice of life anime. I think I’ll head on to watching Shirobako next.
I don't understand why your channel doesn't have more views!
why don't you have more views?
2:39 gave me chills.. a good one!
great review of the studio that i respect! 10/10
same, instant goosebumps
I think the thing that all P.A. Works shows have in common is that everything kinda POPS out yaknow?
Great video, I love learning about anime studios and how they work. And you do a great job of making them digestible and fun to watch!
I'm really interested on the behind the scenes of Anime, but I'm lazy to do the necessary inquiry to learn more about it; so this kind of videos are great.
I'll always regard you highly for your inquisitive work, and that keeps bringing me back.
You should watch Shirobako, it's anime about how anime studio works
saw the title and got really excited. i've been waiting for this!
After watching this brilliantly produced video featuring the anime studio that just might currently be at the top of the heap, how could I not subscribe?
So just wanted to say, I really like your videos man, giving a praise and an insight on the studios and the animation industry in gereral is really inspiring to watch.
I just started watching your videos and have to say that I'm sorry I'm so late to the party! Thanks for all your hard work and professional and highly enjoyable content. Please keep up the good work!
Canaan was the only one that I finished and you didn't even mention it.
On the other hand "fucking look at it!"
that line made my day
Canipa. Your research and editing is off the charts. Best on RUclips.
+PSYche Nihil Thanks! I put a lot of effort into making sure I get everything right!
Nice vid man - as always, awesome stuff!
such a fantastic studio. loving Kuromukuro at the moment. Can't wait for future projects by them
Your videos are amazing: great editting, great info, and great voice ;D
I can't even fathom how you have 20,000 subscribers rather than a million. The quality and content of your video far surpasses quite a lot of others which content that is relatively unexplored and actually discusses let alone mention, people other than directors, composers and perhaps seiyuu. The key animators and background artists play such a crucial role in anime production but rarely mentioned let alone appreciated to the extent you do.
Nice one! Definitely one of my favourite video's you've made. :3
Hanasaku Iroha is so dam GOOD!!!
Always loved the use of tasteful CGI in their shows combined with settings based on real places. Really sets them apart from most studios. NagiAsu in particular was a god damn masterpiece of animation.
Studio looks neat than most i seen so far. That app and anime in reality connection concept was something new and perhaps intresting
the art for nagi no asukara opened my eyes for good animation.
great video! PA Works is one of my favourite studios because they are very consistent and have great people working there. Also, those little Layton mascots really make wanna watch Eternal Diva again. That was a great video game movie.(even if it didnt actually adapt anything from the games)
My passion for anime after watching Shirobako has increased a tremendous amount and being able to enjoy anime for more in depth reasons in addition to pure enjoyment is great as well.
P.A works litteraly produced half of my favorite anime and man , this video made me want to rewatch all these shows ( Nagi no asukara , charlotte , hanasaku iroha , angel beats) yeah there is a lot
Disdain for Charlotte? I liked that show!
Favorite p.a studio
ANGEL BEATS 1st
CHARLOTTE 2nd
And I'm from 2019 nut a time traveler;)
Nagi no asukara is trully one of the best anime I have ever watched, in every aspect posible.
This is a brilliant video good job.
crap I love nagi asu and now I know who made those beautiful backgrounds
would be interested to see a video about David Production
P. A. Works is my second favorite Studio, the first is obviously KyoAni. it's just my own opinion ^_^
Funnily enough, my boyfriend and I were talking about PA Works recently because neither of us could think of any identity for the studio other than making a bunch of shows set in high schools. I guess that's how much their interesting company policy actually effects their animations when you're not researching them.
like the Art of P.A. Works because there artwork and unique work.
Great video man! I really liked Nagi no Asu although most of their shows I tend to avoid because they have way too slow of a pacing.
For me it is one of the most courageous studios in the industry, having made more original than any other studio. And most of his successful works are copywriting. The studio's courage to have a repertoire almost exclusively of originals is inspiring. Not even the Kyoani that is a model studio for the whole industry has this feat in their account.
My only drawback is that the studio did very little of the lol action genre
you love p a works so much
And Ufotable.
Unlimited Digital Works
Progressive Animation Works
This doesn't come as surprise when Aniplex has worked on more projects with Ufotable and P.A. Works than other studios because they would add variety to their family of anime studios. High quality is what the conglomerate (Sony Group) itself is going after to conquer entertainment world with anime but keep working with other studios on other projects. Aniplex has already two in-house studios that have grown organically into two separate studios that used to be A1-Pictures only. They have never acquired anime studios before because Sony was not interested enough to invest in anime. But now they want to make anime the fourth pillar of entertainment after movies, music and games. Go after talent rather than studio names alone has always been a priority for Sony when they look into acquisitions. How good are they, what can they achieve, will they convince consumers and be very profitable. These questions needs to meet Sony's standards to be considered a good investment, you don't just buy studios like Microsoft do or any American giant conglomerate. Plus relationship is very important for future business to keep the talent stay satisfied and not leave the studio.
These are the only animation production studios among all studios in Japan Sony would even have a interest in. MAPPA, Bones, Silver Link, etc are all great but they are better as partnerships. None of these studios would add a different flavor of what A1-Pictures and CloverWorks can't deliver already.
And speaking of anime games, Aniplex shocked everyone by announcing Demon Slayer for PlayStation in April which they approached CyberConnect2 for the project. SIE who has never worked with CC2 just proves what Kenichiro Yoshida told investors and shareholders in May they plan to expand Aniplex's business to PlayStation to utilize "One Sony" concept for anime with corporate-driven synergy. What details they have to make anime the fourth pillar of entertainment will we never know until the next fiscal year in Japan.
wow!
Kuromukuro is so underrated man
I cried after watching this video.
Welp, now I have to watch Rideback. And when I'm done with that Angel Beats. After that, time to move on to the big stuff, Shirobako. Thanks for all the cool new shows to watch Callum.
For some reason I got emotional watching this video.
Charlotte wasn't bad
Agreed, just needed more episodes.
Great review of one of my favourite anime studio in Japan. P.A Works dis the best animation of Character designs as well the art work for the back ground scene. I have a question to ask you, which anime series from P.A. Works do you like.
Kuromukuro needs another season to wrap things up
I think of studio Satelight
Can anyone tell me why not all of his videos have Cc?
ngl but pa works has a thing about working stories its not a secret they made animes like shirobako or hanasaku iroha and recently aquatope with about what i said before but its rare that we see anime like nagi no asukara or maquia where its more about a fantasy world but what can we expect it making an anime about fantasy like nagiasu can be mentally demanding and its really difficult to make a good story about like that
You aren't going to talk about Glasslip?
i heard its terrible, is it?
It was a total mess haha
The visuals were excellent though
Sakura Quest is the real shit
is there any relation between Kyoto animation and PA works...like common works ??
Mehar both outside Tokyo
......
I love all pa work anime. Nagi no asukara is my favorite anime. Another is the first pa work anime that i watch. Tari tari gives vibe about music and it is also a good anime. Glasslip gives vibe about the countryside, i think. After watching it, i guess i feel the countryside. And i don't know how to express the feeling that i get from that anime.
Everytime i watch pa work animes, i really don't know how to express the feelings that i get from that anime studio. I love P.A work!!
I'm a simple guy. I see Ohana Marsumae, I click
I really need to watch more of P.A Works' shows, but I just don't have the time now. Arghhhhhhhhhh!!!
I feel bad now, I don't know many of these, let alone watched them...
what's important is you know them now. check em out, most of the ones I've seen from PA works are great
PokemonMasterAlpha I'm planning on it!
So PA works makes anime real not trump?
+Louis Weisberg I think it was specifically the tourism board of that prefecture that made it real, but sure, why not.
+dontscrewtheworld Toyama prefecture tourism board in collaboration with PARUS, PA Works' Community centre.
whats the song at 2:38? I cant seem to find it.
The Angel Beats OP
THERE IT IS THE NAME OF THE PERSON IM LOOKING FOR ,FOR THE ONE THAT IS RESPONSIBLE OF ONE MY MOST FAVORITE CHARACTER DESIGN
Hey, Callum. When will you finish the best of 2015?
Someday... everytime I think of finishing it, I get a good idea for a video to do instead.
+The Canipa Effect so stop having good ideas
+Eevee A_ no
Good morning.
Anime is real to me damn it.
do u mind add the japanese names for the anime makers so it would be easier for people like me to understand?
What about Glasslip? :(
i would love a chapter about kyoto animation i think they are the only "anime studio" out there lol
+Francisco Hernandez That is in the plans. There's just soooo much to cover with Kyoto Animation that it'd take a while.
How's kuromukuro? After ep.1 it seemed kinda "eh"
+Tony Taco I felt the same after the first episode, it's definitely gotten better but not by much. It's worth checking out.
It's too bad Nagi no Asukara wasn't written very well, because it looked and sounded absolutely beautiful.
PA works or Ufotable?
I sometimes get them mixed up with J.C Staff.
How the hell.
No idea
I see Macross Delta has captured you lol
Wasnt there some recent negativity about PA like some claims PA wanting animators to pay money to them to work?
The details got quite blurred and a lot of people misinterpreted what was being said. Basically, if an in-between animator fails to pass the key animation exam in three years, they will have to pay to rent their desk. Most animators pass the exam within that time, but the idea is that if you can't do so within 3 years, you're taking up someone else's space, but they don't want to have to fire them.
It's not just P.A. Works that does it, it's fairly common and many other studios charge more.
I've somehow managed to not watch a single p.a. works show.
redundant pundit I recommend Charlotte it's an amazing work
alright. I'll add it to my plan to watch, thanks!
redundant pundit same
You should watch Shirobako
I didn't even make it through the first episode of Shirobako, it was really bad.
how was it bad?
I personally really liked the entire show and it made me respect anime even more, but different folks and different strokes amirite? :D
Bag Head too many characters introdcued at first.
The drama/conflict in the first episode is incomprehensible for someone who doesn't know how anime is produced.
***** ah fair enough. I don't even remember the first episode. it gets more understandable and enjoyable later on but I understand if that's a turn off.
You really need to change your intro music
I liked Charlotte, but man it could have been so much better
I wasn't a fan of Shirobako... There was just something i didnt like. I think it was either the voices or the animation
90 % of pa works backgrounds are overpainted colored cgi , its very obvious use of textures in charlotte the 3dish geometry make it very obvious , its done really well though
XD out of all the titles u named they were all shit
Shirobako was boring.
P.A. works = The Bob Ross of Anime, gotcha! Thanks Callum X
Facts.
