Is it strange that as English person I enjoy reading the subtitles in English when their speaking Japanese more than listening to them speak English and seeing the Japanese subtitles.
I watched SAO Dubbed my first anime got to the second season in a couple of days, no dubbed version :( I really didn't want to watch it with subtitles because I thought it would ruin it but I really needed to get my fix. I suppose is preference in the end. Also if you have any info on SAO 2 Dubbed or SAO 3 I would live to hear it, I now seem to have become attached to this show :L
iArcheRz Yeah I know what you mean, everyone in my college class hates almost all dubbed anime because they think the voice actors are awful. I don't mind but some of them get really angry at it, especially attack on titan because they changed the way a titan sounded which there was no point to since it's roar lasts for the exact same time in English and Japanese. Although a few agree that the bleach dub is pretty decent.
No, that's normal. Everyone hates dubs.. Except for a few series/movies, like cowboy bebop or ghost in the shell etc, all the classics have decent dubs since they are/were huge titles
I can't believe how much work is put into it. I thought most of it was digital by now, even the drawings. I didn't realize it was still scanned. I'd have thought they were doing the drawings on the computer as well. I tried scanning my drawings a long time ago, but there was too much detail when I move on to the coloring. Now I realize why they scan at such a low resolution (144 DPI).

In pretty much the same fashion animation had been handled before the advent of digital ink and paint. Basically animators put all the moving parts on celluloid paper (cels are transparent sheets) using grease pencil or something similar and those sheets would be laid over the backgrounds and shot under a camera, a frame at a time. The cels would be painted on the reverse side using paint as to not mess up the pencil work. Editors would then clip and splice the filmstrips to put it all together.
I have a deeper respect for anime now... The amount of work that goes into a singe frame is maddening at least.
whats the font of subtitle ?
I admire these people and their hard work, I don't think I could do this work without going insane, especially with the tight schedule.
they look like they are in 1998.

it's cultural difference. it show that You are actually listening though I think Danny overdoing it :D
It's just being polite. Although during most of the conversations I quit reading subtitles because I found it amusing "MMMMM HAI HAI HAIOHHHHHHH"
Danny you are one lucky person. Very few person can say they have stepped into an anime studio.

Great episode as always!
This is why I respect Japanese and their masterpiece.....
and this is why i loved them all.... because they made a great art.....
Danny should make one about how visual novels are made at visual arts key. Would be really interesting to see that.
i like when danny's at jc, the way he talks is like when you're watching a nature show
After reading the subtitles, when danny started talking in English, I couldn't stop looking at the kanji...
