Guitar Center's Product Spotlight showcases the Porkpie Big Black Snare Drum. Check it out at any Guitar Center store or online: www.guitarcenter.com/Pork-Pie-...
The audio on this video doesn´t make justice to the real sound of this drums. They sound A M A Z I N G !!!! New heads, new wires and you have one of the best sounding snare drums ever, for a price under $500 USD.
I have my Black Bob snare drum. I changed the heads and snare wires to Blasters. I love how versatile this drum is. Sounds amazing live and studio work. Definitely NOT a cheap knock off of the Ludwig. This is an EPIC drum!
Johnny Sawyer Fuck I took one of these, put a coated ambassador on the bottom and a coated emperor on top with the factory snares and what a monster. I use a coated single ply on all my snare bottoms and every one of them will take your balls off if you're not careful. I did it by accident and I'll never go back to a clear 3 mil.. That's for sissies. You want some real balls, go with a coated 10mil.
Wow, Guitar Center really made this snare sound awful here. I own one, and I will say that while it does not sound as good as the Ludwig Black Beauty, it does sound much better than in this video.
John Kunn I was worried why my snare sounded like a trash can. I just bought a black beauty hoping it would sound like a good snare rather than the one that came with my set. I was disappointed when I first put it on as it sounded like a trash can. I’m hoping that other tunings will make it sound more like a snare drum with not so much ringing
I have Big BOB, its the best and most versatile (and quiet by the way...good for small gigs) snaredrum that I ever had. I do have much more expensive snare drums from Gretsch, Pearl and Yamaha, but this beats them all!
They are an okay snare but you will wish you added more cash and purchased Ludwig, Pearl or DW. It has very little punch or crack a good metal snare has.

@@matthewwellen9695 Ludwig drums sound bad like a trash can. But if you fiddle with it and change the stock head, it should improve drastically.
Tem muita diferença de som dela para a Pork Pie hammerhead steel?

whats the thickness of this snare?
oops...I was one of those people who thought it said "big black bob" :P
very odd recording and playing, too many cliches in the "review"
i reckon tune it a bit higher and it'll sound even worse
The drum recording in this video sounds completely out of phase.
"Big.....black" snare?
BOB
did you amplify this snare through a guitar amp? please remember to keep it flat and simple. This over processed and not in a good way.
You ruined this review with all your rimshots, thanks alot.
Lol, what do you mean? Rimshots bring out the tone and attack in a snare. Lmao
However, he did over do them a bit. Plus the recording was shit.
Agree. On the rim shot comment. Totally ruined the actual sound of the drum.
And they dont bring out the tone. The tone comes from the middle of the snare head when hit smack in the middle

not bad on a sales pitch. but this is not a good review. all i heard was a shitload of snare rimshots. very misleading....
Volume is too low.
Not a fan on how this drummer hits the snare. You cant hear the body of the snare
too much talk, not enough play!
That is tuned way too high to hear any of the character of the snare.
terrible recording
