That’s par for the course my dude. Married a Filipina and it’s like sucking on a warhead. So bitter your wanna spit it out and then so sweet you’re desperate for more.
True story my wife will regularly call me Idiot when we argue and then turn around and call me Yam. My name is Don. So where does the name Yam come from? You Are Mine. That’s her name for me. That’s how much a Filipina will love you dude. Right down to your fucking name she gives you she’s declaring that you are her true love. But she also won’t hold back calling you retarded if you do something stupid. 😂

I think I know how this misunderstanding happened. Filipinos say hoy/‘oy at the beginning or end of a sentence to get the notices by the person they’re directing their attention towards so I think his tita/auntie said “Jo ko ‘oy.” but since he was upstairs with his cousin he misheard it and through she said “Jo Koy.”

And when she asked I explained that because my son is half Filipino my wife always adds “Ko” after his name. And when I told her what “Ko” meant and that what I was really calling him was “my Francis” she had the same crying reaction. 😂

And sometimes they didn't even know ur real name.
Like really... They wanna come to ur home but they don't know where it is exactly, and they will ask ur neighbor but they don't even know ur real name. And neighbors are like "who the fuck is that? I live here for 10 years and I don't know who you're looking for. " And ur friend will tell them ur father's name and "ooh him. That's right over there"
      Like really O.o

I just realize, since Indonesian and Tagalog have similarities, "ko" in Talagog means "ku" in Indonesian. "Ku" is from the word "Aku" means "My / I". So, if Jo Koy is Indonesian and he also misheard his name, it would be Jo Kuy. In Indonesian slang, "Kuy" can be mean "lets go". So, if his aunty said "Jo-ku, makan" (My Jo, eat), and he heard "Jo, kuy, makan" (Jo, let's go eat), it still makes sense, but his aunty is really posh then.
