I have a PD35 and love it for it's toughness, can use different types of 18650, length that can be used as a tactical tool. Looks pretty beat up but still going strong but am really interested in upgrading to the UC35.

Geez, there is no perfect flahlight! To me, onboard USB charging is a must, as well as the charge level indicator. Also tail switch, BUT, if you leave the light on a lower setting it's going to take some clicks to increase the brightness. The PD36TAC solves that with the tail end selector, but has NO onboard charging! Also, I wonder how the rubbing charging flap will fare, the little E09R light has a nice twist to access USB port, which is great.
I wish more flashlights would place the secondary switch on the back of the flashlight like the Black Scouts Survival version Wow Tac. Seems easier to use the thumb for for both switches for tactical purposes and practical application.
I got yesterday the flashlight, incredible power and above all reach, 266 real meters, I also have an Olight M2R that is 1500 lumens, the Fenix uc35 V2.0 goes further and is more powerful with only 1000 lumens vs 1500 of the Olight , also has much more battery life, the Fenix lasts 2 hours 15 min in turbo, the Olight lasts according to the manual 3 min in turbo of 1500 and goes to 700 lumens for 120 min, really it is very superior the Fenix, the indicator of load is great and much better than the M2R, the M2R only indicates when the battery is low, the Fenix indicates the level of charge in 4 stages, also the USB port is great, wherever you are always someone has a cell phone charger, you can always charge it on any place, on the other hand with the Olight you need the cable with the magnetic switch , with the fenix you do not need anything, with any cell phone charger you can charge it, another good thing is that with a half turn of the back capyou can lock it easily to carry it in a backpack, with the olight it is more complicated to block it and it does not work to make the half turn of the cap, the flashlight button still working the same, it has many advantages over the Olight and the other flashlights of 25 mm of lens diameter , is so far the flashlight that mor reach and autonomy has at 25 mm lens, which is the diameter to which the flashlights are still pocketeable , and a larger measure would be out of pocket size , as points to improve would be good to can tail stund , but would not be so accessible and simple to use the button , I think it is better to be more accessible button that can tail stand, you use more the button than tail stand the light, something else that could be improved is the clip, in the olight is a deep clip for the pocket making that in the pocket practically can not be seen, instead the Fenix excels several mm, aesthetically it is unfavorable but it is practically better since it is easier to fast access exceeding a few mm from the pocket ,in short it is a really well thought flashlight with a fair balance of power and very smart autonomy, I already have 9 flashlights and I can assure you that this model is the best model in terms of performance and functionality for EDC. @Marc H the throw of the PD35 v2.0 is 250 meters on turbo of 1000 lumens , the trow of the UC35 V2.0 is slightly more , is 266 meters , you are right , the lumens dosent matters on throw , you need more candelas , but with this lights of fenix you have a spot that goes to a very long distance that is more intense and looks more powerfull than a floody light , and you also can see arround with the speell , and dont need a lot of lumens for that , that makes the battery runtimes much more better !!!! I prefer this tipe of lights over the floody lights
I'm currently researching edc light options. While I like the rechargeable feature with micro sub as well as the battery indicator light, I didn't like the pocket clip. I am looking for something that rides lower in my pocket. Also, I think this may be a bit big for an edc option for me. Great review. Thanks for the info.

Aron, you should check out the Klarus XT2C at 1100 lumins or the XT2CR at 1600 lumins. I have both and they are amazing lights. The XT2CR has a battory indicator light and is USB rechargable. You should try them out I think you would like them.
No mention of the light going to lower modes to conserve battery life , so not to leave you in compleat darkness. I have the UC35. Original Does the UC35 v2.0 light have that feature too?
What's the obsession with tail standing ? Surely pointing the light down is better use of lumens rather than advertising your tent by illuminating your roof . Hang them off a clip or lanyard . Tail standing a light seems a poor way to light a space up . How many surfaces are flat enough ? Someone coughs and the light falls over etc etc
Could care less about the battery indicator but its nice! Dig the seperate mode selector. I'm fucking tired of tapping a button 3 or 4 times to get the setting I want. Ive had other lights with the modes but I always fall back on my 2 aa maglite...never done me wrong.
Felix lost its mojo when they went to the side-switch, I moved to EagTac D25CL2 after that to retain tail-cap activation in a smaller 18650 light that easily fits in a front pocket. I can’t relate to those glasses either.. just sayin.

The PD35 V2 light duration is waaay superior to the other lights. PD35 V2 at 1000 lumens on Turbo Mode for 2 hours plus is a major go! No other flashlights in this range compare. They usually kick back down to High, after a minute or 2.

I love that Fenix light are rechargeable. I have a surefire and it just burns through cr123 batteries and that gets expensive. Great video

I love my Olight M2R warrior. The pocket clip can be taken off and snapped onto the opposite side of the grip so it sits flush with my pocket

Agree! That side switch with no shortcut to low/turbo is what kills fenix.
Wrong. You may not like it. Doesn't mean they "lost their mojo". There are plenty that prefer the side switch.
