- Yes, this overland rig has a Fireplace! Join me and my good buddy Josh as we take you on a tour of his nicely built Jeep Gladiator Diesel. We'll take a deep dive into why he has chosen some of the modifications he has and find out what he still has in store for it. I know I enjoyed taking a close up look of the Alucab canopy, goose gear setup, all his electronics, propane system, and more. #jeepgladiator

I love that you show off other people's rigs instead of being the type like mine's better than everyone's.
Much nicer rigs out there than mine... I love checking them all out!
'zactly! Its one of the reasons I tune in to this RUclips channel first. :)
@@TrailRecon does he have a blog or Instagram to see the build pics
How much all this cost him?
Probably my favorite Gladiator build and I have a badass Gladiator
Wow, this what the Jeep Gladiator w/a Diesel for those long Overlanding trips is All about. 👏
Average 22 MPG?! 😮 👏🏽
Best gladiator build by long margin, that i have seen.
Checkout hourless Jeep’s gladiator
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
That part that have the tent
Can he take it out if he don’t want to use it?
Agreed
Awesome setup
This build is perfect. So well thought out, functional and feature packed, but not over the top or flashy. My dream solo overlanding rig.
Ummmmm not over the top or flashy? This set up is close to $100k!!!!!!!!!!!
@@mateobeans3787 crazy expensive doesn’t mean it is flashy or over the top. He just has very high end, expensive components. But he’s clearly using all those components, and they have a purpose. There isn’t a ton of extraneous stuff just to have it in there, like you see at a lot of overlanding expo builds….where they are basically apartments on 37s. And driving down the road, it looks like a mildly kitted gladiator with a nice camper and rooftop tent. Not a monster truck with an EDM concert’s worth of lights and all other crap bolted on. That’s what I mean by flashy. His build doesn’t scream “look at me” I’m a hardcore overlander like a lot of builds do.
Well said! I couldn’t agree more!
I'm loving that truck camper
🙄
Favorite Gladiator build so far.
Youre right about removing seats adding storage!! I took the back seat out of my 2 door JK and now live out of that rig. I’m 6’0 and can lay down flat on the platform I built in.
I'd like to see how you've set up your 2 door JK.
This is a very well thought out build. This build will have a wrangler owner reconsider the gladiator again.
Nothing bad about Glads, just their wheel base is too long even my 4dr JK is pushing it for hard off roading. Overlanding though sure. Especially if you're already considering a pick up I don't know how a Rubi Glad isn't one of your top options
@@ValFinale for serious offroading here in the mountains of NC i drive my TJ. That being said, i have ordered a gladiator rubicon for overlanding, family fun and camping. The only issue is that because i ordered a manual trans it is taking several months to get it in.
@@jakerogers6562 it's not just the transmission. All the auto manufacturers are having problems getting parts. And it's not just the auto industry either
@@williamquick4807 i finally got mine two weeks ago. I'm in home construction and i would say most of the problem is coming from a lack of workers. I have gotten behind on jobs due to no one wanting to work. Its a real shame
@@jakerogers6562 plus there's a shortage of truck drivers also. We have been saying that for years, but since the country started to open back up everyone started learning about it. I'm a truck driver and have been for 28 years, so I have seen this
Nice build. Also, great interview style with the walk through. Informed, balanced, easy to follow, and good pacing. Nice video.
JOSH this was awesome. So happy to watch this episode. Brad thanks for doing this,, all of us Gladiator Owners are so gratful.
I saw it in person when you had it on display at the 2021 Mint 400. Nice build. I have a 2021 JTRD on 37" Nitto RG's. 28-30psi on road. I have a few do-dads but not as much weight as you (probably 800 lbs less). I get 18.5 around town and 20 on the freeway (averaging 70-80 mph). The fact that you're getting 22.5 mpg combined (including Offroad) is remarkable. I only got that mpg stock.
Best Jeep Gladiator setup I have seen.
Very nice. I can only imagine the money involved with this build. It definitely is one of the best Gladiator builds I have seen.
When I was looking at purchasing my gladiator, there was one set up slightly similar to this but without the fireplace and awning and it was $83,000! And stock parts. I wish I could afford that let alone this one!!!
Wow....thanks!!!....Just when I think Im close to having my rig done I see this....somone is gonna have to explain the missing $100,000 to my wife now...lol. Great setup you have there.
Great video Brad! I'm glad Josh liked our Behind the Seat ARB compressor mount. It fits in really well with his interior setup!
Its been great, I'm still very happy with my choice!!
@@socalexpedition glad to hear!
Drove my '22 Rubicon Gladiator off the lot today, with a project like this in mind.
That bird chirp, near the end of the video, got my Shih Tzu barking (& my wife's sleeping!). I had to pause the video to ensure I didn't have a noisy bird just outside my cabin. ANYWAYS, I've been surfing the web & watching YT videos about the Gladiator (I've got the itch) and this camper setup is SWEET! Nice rig, & thanks for the video!
Sorry about that! 😂 Josh has added a lot of nice touches to his rig. Glad you enjoyed the video!
This build is really the pinnacle of overland rigs. Will definitely be my inspiration for the future. If I had some serious cash I love to see maybe engineering a way to make it so you have access to the front of the jeep as well. Would probably have to rip out the center console and passenger seat but would love it.
That would be the pinnacle-access to the cab without exiting the vehicle.
I am very obviously in the wrong line of work. My god. Crazy set up!!
Incredible setup. I love this Gladiator build! Can't wait to see the rest of the mods
That has got to be the perfect build IMO Love it!
Amber or yellow wavelength is less affected by water molecules in the air and won’t blind drivers. Good choice in dense fog.
I like the Jeep!
Well “ThoughtOut!” is a Gross Understatement !!! 🤔
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Oh man! I was so glad to see this for the fireplace. But the whole rig is a thing of beauty. Thanks for sharing!
Man, if you don't stop hitting your ring on that man's Jeep.
TrailRecon = most used quote. "Super excited!!!" Lol Nice Jeep!! Wow!
WA. absolutely! This rig is phenomenal. And the add ons still to come, 100% agree with would make it over the top. The amount of $ sunk into this has to be considerable. But well worth it for what he is doing with it. A bed and a toilet are must haves for over landing. Everything else is a luxury. lol
SWEET RIG!!!! IT'S PERFECT... HAPPY TRAILS.
Wow. One of my favorite overland setups for the gladiator!
so satisfying to watch!!great job josh.
I have a Gladiator with a rack / tent setup and suddenly have a major inferiority complex ...just the toilet alone gives me pause on what the heck I have been thinking. Brilliant!
Just got a 2022 . Same color. Can't wait to get mine like this..
I usually don't watch walk arounds anymore because most people basically do the same kind of weekender setup, but this Jeep is super cool and unique. It definitely confirms for me that I want to get a cap of some sort on my truck, because it gives you a lot more flexibility with what you can do.
Dickenson makes great products. I have one of their wood stoves in my 25 foot sailboat. That is a nice set up!
15:52 Adorable little guy is hypnotized by the fire!! He's way too dang cute!!! 👧
Good point, my 9 000 pound full size 7.3 liter SUV gets 18 mps off road and fully loaded. Diesel is where it is at, of and they can be tuned to much more. 450 hp in mine.
EXTREME GLAMPING!!!
As always Fantastic!!!!! Love both vehicles!! I seriously look forward to your next adventures!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have Awesome Friends!!!!!
Awesome, rig!
Thank you Brad for this walk around. Forget the Bronco - this is my dream Jeep, ecodiesel, hydro-blue. Just a well-done video!
I can only imagine how much money he has put into that. I wish I lived closer to areas where I could enjoy my Gladiator the same way, looks like such a great time and money well spent.
I just put my deposit down for the alucab canopy camper for my gladiator, love the build. very excited to get mine.
We are looking forward to building it for you!
Can relate. After putting on a customer steel front bumper w/winch. Full skids. 3-inch lift and 32-inch tires (10 wide), class III hitch and @ 80lb each, sliders/rock rails, then seeing my daily driver drop to 10mpg city on a good day, I hesitate to grab the keys when I want to run out for a pizza. All the extra lights and roof rack didn't tip the scale but it doesn't help.
Saving this video to my playlist when i can afford some of these things
Love this set up. I just got my gladiator a couple weeks ago and all I’ve got done is a lift and 37’s. But this guys set up is definitely the dream goal.
I love this rig, insane fit out, 😍
I have an Addictive desert designs bumper on my 2011 Tahoe.
She’s running 35x12.50 nitto ridge grapplers on a 6” fabtech lift kit. I got alpha Rex headlights, arksen 84”x50”x6” roof rack, 22” light bar on top, 4 nitelite LED pods on the front, a Wilco offroad fire carrier with a full size spare to boot.
I sleep inside the cab w/ gear and then some on top.
Gonna do a 2 battery setup and a 3 weapon gun rack next
Just go to your nearest Cerakote Shop and they can coat any part you want in any colour including the bronze parts underneath. It is a super tough coating.
What a beast this Jeep is...Perfect for outdoor...
I know it's not the same but I've been running 2-door Wranglers since around 2004 and have never had the rear seat in it. I never have a need for more than one passenger and I actually use all that cargo space. Never complained about cargo space in a 2-door for that reason.
Favorite Gladiator I’ve seen so far for over landing. Super nice and clean job.
Awesome video! You always know just what, and when, to ask….Top notch!!
You were my first CMC! So cool finding out you have such great content. Great job, Master Chief!
Right on! Thanks for your service shipmate and thanks for checking out the videos. Safe travels!
This is a very gorgeous truck. Love it. Amazing build. Blue is a nice color.
Pretty sick rig! Love it, specially the contrast of the blue and bronze.
Excellent video. Incredible Gladiator build.
I think this is probably the best overland Gladiator setup I’ve seen. If they make those to fit any truck bed you should get one fitted to your Power Wagon.
Alu-Cab, South African?
How much does the rig currently weigh following all of the modifications?
Absolutely beautiful! The best gladiator I’ve seen.
Love that Gladiator setup! It looks amazing & can't wait to see it in more videos.
that thing is badass!!! wow!
That bed camper is awesome. This stuff has come a LONG way.
Get those billet parts Cerakoted or powdered in bronze!
Pretty cool. Also cool that its so pretty.
nice overland build also the blue color is awesome
This is the perfect build for a guy like me. very cool overland jeep
Awesome Guys!
Coming from a CDJR tech, you’ll be wishing you would’ve went with the 3.6 over the 3.0. Even though it’s underpowered, it is far more reliable. Which is what you want far off the road!
And her again is where Mopar dropped the ball and doesn’t offer the 5.7.
Theirs ways to fix everything but the issue with main bearing failures. It's just not legal to do it to an onroad vehicle.
Friends Dodge 4x4 with the 3.0 was getting 35mpg hiway when he bought it. Down to 22 mpg when Dodge got done with "Required firmware changes" Then the sooting happened and melted his intake. After that fix under warranty he did a delete and got back to 35mpg and a lot more HP an TQ. He never did get to the problems with the main bearings. He traded it in on a new one ton to tow a huge camper.
Been waiting for this walk around. It didn’t disappoint, Brad knocked it out of the park with the vid and Josh with the build!!
Love Goose Gear.
This is a sick rig it's the dream rig for sure.
That is 1 Awsome rig love the blue as well
Enjoy your travels Watching you from Australia 👍
Wow. Just wow.
That chirping drove me crazy! LOL.
Can we get an overall weight?
I have almost the exact setup and I’m at 6040 lbs
i am digging the color combo
This is the cleanest Jeep Iv seen
Perfectly thought of build.. totally diggin it!
This is what I call it a beauty
Got to get rid of that hood prop rod…awesome JT!
Great video. Great looking rig. Like that Josh took the time to think about aesthetics as well as functionality. Love to see you guys do a video about the best ways to find other people to overland with. I often wonder how many people out there are living vicariously through you guys and would go out if they had a group of folks to go with.
I would welcome “friends” with experience
Wow! Almost as comfy as my Toy Hauler!
This is sick
Soooooo…I made the mistake of going on RUclips to look at gladiator inspiration before i pull the trigger tomorrow at the dealership. lol damn. I’m in too deep now.
Show off....I love it! 😁
Such an amazing built!!! Wow 👏👏👏👏 Absolutely love it
So much thought went into this.
Awesome rig!!
My JTRD should be here in a few weeks... So excited!
Right on, congrats, you'll love it!
Have you ever seen the modified Jeep of Matt's Off Road Recovery called The Banana? And now he has a customized Corvair Wagon they call the Morevair. This guy is in Hurricane UT and recovers people stuck or damaged in the dunes and mountains. I know you guys mod your Jeeps out the wazoo, bur until I watched Matt and his crew, I never saw anybody drag a recovery trailer where he does. Check him out.
Wow, I don't even know what to say, this is an incredible build. I'd love to see what this guy does to his house.
I love watching your videos! I'm a little bit jealous of the landscapes there but at least I can enjoy watching you guys having fun there! 😅
Great walk around video. Just enough detail to cover everything, while keeping it interesting.
Love that blue too!
Awesome setup. Great information for someone who is interested in outfitting their Gladiator. Thank you
Pretty awesome.
Such a great overland gladiator, totally green with envy
I have a 2015 Jeep GC Overland Diesel with Offroad Adventure II Pkg (ELSRD) and lots of additional skid plates (Chief Products) and Mopar Rock Sliders. It currently has 62K miles, but I only average around 22 mpg overall. Ever since the diesel-gate/"software updates" (which started 5 years ago, and have been ongoing) my mpgs have dropped by 3 - 4 from new.
One of the coolest setups out there! Did he do the installs himself?
Very nice rig..
Gentlemen? The tire you showed has a nail in the tread. Fix it before you get stuck. Sorry my Master Technician never stops. BTW this Rubicon is amazing. Thanks for sharing!
That jeep is awesome
