- Опубликовано: 31 окт 2021
- Camping on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon with 25 other E3 Overland members that all have some well built everyday man's builds, I pull the camera out and walk around and see what kind of gear they have and how they have outfitted their vehicles. We'll take a look at a few Jeep Wranglers, a couple Jeep Gladiators, a Ford Raptor and F250, a Hummer H3T truck, Toyota Tacoma and more.

Man these everyday folks got about 100k worth of equipment lol!!
Just everyday people not like me I guess
Lol...
Exactly, rich everyday folks. Unattainable for actual everyday folks. For most people buying a 50k$ vehicle is totally out of the question.
Just a matter of working hard and spend wisely. My wife and I work hard for everything we have. All the while saving money. We stopped going to the bars and slowed down drinking, and that saved us $10,000 a year
@@maximelauzon5129 you don’t need much to enjoy the outdoors sometimes less is best.
I like the “one-take” style videos. Makes you even more human than just a RUclipsr. You’re one of the most “human” RUclipsrs on here as it is and the one-take adds to the normality that you exude.
I love that you show off everyone’s set up . It’s nice to see all the different ideas and how each group make it work . We are in the process of deciding on a trailer or slide in truck camper . Might be going with a trailer now lol
Love your walk arounds, just nice to see what average Joes have used in their setups, don’t get me wrong , nice to see the tripped out sponsor / manufacturers builds too, but not everyone has unlimited budgets ( I certainly don’t). Great video as always
Such an amazing trip! Thank you for hosting again!! These videos show the infinite possibilities when it comes to preparing your rig for a trip!
Really liked this one Brad. Thanks very much. Really good to see simpler, practical, realistic rigs for the every day person who doesn’t have the extreme builds. Great ideas here that work really well. Fantastic.
"Normal guys" starts with a 30k trailer and a 70k jeep lol
I liked the guy with the Walker Evan bead locks on his trailer. Just a normal guy roughing it.
Well yes, it's kind of an expensive hobby/pastime to get into 😊
Normal? Lol
Swears normal people spend 100k on overland Jeep’s and gear
Normal people pay bills invest and save money
I wish I had 100k to play with although you don’t need much to enjoy the outdoors. Having all that gear means a shit tonne of cleaning and maintenance
@@woxie4990 no its not actually lol only if u try to have alot of toys and gadgets that u dont really need.....
Great stuff, I'm just glad the wind didn't come up like it does in the desert. I could see half of that stuff blowing right over the edge.
Several of you asked in the comments about the wood chairs (they're bamboo) at the 16 minute marker. They are Snow Peak brand. Perfect angle to lounge/stargaze/nap on. 👌
Some REI stores carry them. They also come in a different style (lower back) and has a strap for easier transport around camp. Fabric is easily removable to launder.
Absolutely love this channel. Great adventures, details on vehicles and equipment, and passion for overloading and off- roading. Great job, Brad.
Always love these videos with different kinds of set ups. Lots of ideas!
Love the improv camp walk throughs. Could totally watch hours of these awesome set ups!
Love this. It's easy to watch youtube and get a distorted view of what's normal. I love the decked out builds from people that do this for a living, but the normal builds that I can afford are the most inspiring. Glad to see a couple Nissans out there with ya'll.
Thanks for showing all of the rigs, Brad. I picked out a couple of great ideas for my van. What an epic adventure and campsite!
You are a true ambassador to overlanding. Thank you from Canada.
I grew up in my early driving days. 1976. As a surfer. Bought my first 4X4 truck in 1979. A Chevy Luv. Big Sur..... worked weekly in Monterey, CA. Every Friday night, I bought supplies after work and headed south, Had a campershell and a bed inside it,,,,,,
Nice cover of all the vehicles. Over the years I've paired down to a set way of doing things. My newest rig is a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek Sport .. Lifted, all terrains ,and skid plate. I am always amazed at how much stuff people carry with them. Tents are a thing of the past for me at 76 years old .. I sleep in the car .. no more tents for me. I never carry a cooler because when empty they are still there taking up space. I've figured out meals that don't require a cooler or fridge. Did Tooroweap a few years ago with my other rig .. a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport 2Dr. The North Rim is amazing!
You sleep in a Crosstrek? Yeah, no thanks, my back is screwed up enough already.
Thanks for sharing this video ... it really was an average joe group of rigs. Like the setup that was near the 8:00 mark, I have taken a hiking mentality to my overlanding. Using this mentality, we have been able to squeeze a family of 6 into an Expedition for numerous week long camping trips.
As always Awesome!!!!! Love your adventures. Makes me feel like I'm there.. great video to see while recovering from knee surgery.. THANKS!!!
Keep on Wheeling!!!!!
How fun to see what everyone has done!! ❤️🐞
Love seeing how people use different items to complete their OL rigs. The orange Jeep (8:32) had a remote-controlled car gear bag in the back. I have an old one and am now thinking about adding it to my gear, maybe something to hold clothes.
Loving the trailers and full size rigs. We have a OGT expedition 2.0 and Silverado 1500 and just prefer it to our ground tents in the past and just using a vehicle. So much more convenient for us
This is one of most favorite videos that you posted. I just did a cross country trip to help move a friend who grew up in New York moved to San Diego about 15 years ago, just recently moved back to New York. I loved traveling cross country. I would love to do a camp out in that Arizona area w/ a Jeep Wrangler (which are my favorite vehicle). That is on my bucket list 5 years from now. Awesome video.
Some very creative setups that inspire how to have all of your needs met with minimal weight and bulk. Great video!
Great job on the walk-around, Brad!
I also want to say that I really appreciate the full view of what you're showing us without your face in the shot. So many RUclipsrs' have this habit that their face needs to be in the camera - but it really distracts what they're attempting to show the audience (I think anyway) so thanks for the huge display of various builds! Only limit is imagination!
Another plus, no annoying music.
😁😆😃
Thanks Brad for another incredible trip! Susie and I had an EVEN better experience than last year, which I thought would be hard to beat, but you and E3_Association did it AGAIN!
Love this video because it featured both of my 4x4s. I have a JKU and a Nissan Frontier 4x4. Thanks Brad keep them coming!
Great video as always. I love the walk arounds as they show so many different things that individuals do.
Looks like a awesome time a lot of great setups, gorgeous views good stuff brad everyone enjoy an as always be safe 👍👍👍👍
Absolutely beautiful scenery, what a great way to start your day! 😮
Another great walk around Brad! Usually have gear anxiety, but leaning more toward cabin fever. Great, great camp spot!
Always enjoy these videos and seeing the different setups. I got some great ideas for when I’m ready for a trailer.
Great video! Loved seeing all the rigs especially all the sleep in trailers!
Always one of my favorite camping spots. We’ll usually do the hike down to the river, eat lunch on a sand bar, and then do the (grueling) hike back up...major quad burner!
I knew you were still around Ironman.
Hi Tony, where is this exact spot at?
We camped there 2 nights before you guys. Awesome destination for an overland trip. Some amazing rigs! Thanks for the tour.
One of my favorite spots!
One day I hope to see a crazy crosstrek set up! absolutely love these videos
This was a really enjoyable video. I have a stock, JLU Rubicon that I’m planning to rig up for my son and I to go on adventures with, and it was cool to see a lot of options on what other people have done to “get out there”. I hadn’t given much thought to a trailer setup, but you e got my wheels turning a bit.
There are a lot of great rigs in this video; I really enjoyed it. I especially liked seeing the full size rigs since they tend to be underrepresented in popular overland content.
I’m building a Durango I actually started the channel after I saw you guys and I’m hooked I’m gonna do a step by step on the build thanks for getting me going
I had such a great time meeting great people from all walks of life! Thank you E3 and TrailRecon for a fun weekend. I would recommend going out with a fun group like this if you get a chance.
Is this near the Bar10 ranch
We stayed at the Bar 10
Beautiful!! Scenery and rigs!
thanks for the tour. loved the video!!! I really liked the red Dodge Ram rebel set up as that is what I have. I especially liked the folding tonneau cover/roof rack combo which is what I'd like for mine!!!
Love looking at all the solutions people come up with. I have yet to see one like mine. I have a short box 4x4 GMC and I use a home made deck system in the back and use a Kodiak tent to sleep on top of the deck system. A queen size air mattress and we hav plenty of room for all our gear. You should check out Kodiak truck tents made in the USA. They make one that would fit your power wagon for the times when you want to have a lighter setup.
Great walk arounds. It nice to a spectrum of builds
I love the unedited version. Some great ideas hope to see you soon.
That view is gorgeous 📸 👍🏼. Good times🇺🇸
Great Vid!!!! Show cases plenty of accessories and possibilities!
First
Hey E3 Overland members’ builds. Hopefully I’ll be able to attend next year. I just got my 4Runner and I am starting to mod it.
Hope you can make it next year, we had a blast this year, plus more events around the country coming soon!
Nice video. Great rigs and campers. That overland camper trailer with the pop up seems great.
A lovely spot to camp for sure. It was nice to see the different set-ups. Cheers.
Great video! Really enjoyed the different systems
Thanks for sharing this video, interesting tour of campers.
First time Jeep Wrangler owner. There's lots of great ideas. Thank you!
I've wanted a Jeep ever since I was a kid. Now, at age 55 and on the edge of retirement, I bought an 07 Wrangler Sahara Unlimited. Already mapping out trails and making mods.
Enjoy your adventures!
You're really good at this! New sub, thanks for the adventure!
This looks so fun!! Once I get my rig finished I want to try and link up with a group like y’all.
Simple video with good camera quality and sound to enjoy the atmosphere almost as if you were there
Nice to see the Turtleback trailors well represented. I sure love mine!
I have really enjoyed watching ur videos. It's interesting and exciting while learning new things set in some truly beautiful places. Great job looking forward to ur next adventure. God bless b safe.
I honestly don't know if I'm offended or just going through Monday blues but I have 40k into my JLU and no where near some of these set up's. Guess I don't fall into average yet. I have watched and enjoyed alot of your stuff but it's starting to just get unachievable and about who has what and what everyone needs. Was really looking forward to the cross country trips you had planned. Back to the basics please, enjoying the outdoors and sharing adventures.
Don't get caught up in the "I have to have this" trap. I use a 2001 XJ for my adventures. It will go anywhere and holds my wife and I and our gear. That's all you need! You're miles ahead of me with a JLU, go out and enjoy it!
You only need the gear that makes you comfortable. I started with an XJ and a tent. My son and I had a lot of great times with that set up. Now I have a more spendy set up. Your rig and gear is about you, not everyone else.
💯
Great video! Thank you!
Like the Jeeps & also the full-size Ram & Ford setups.
Love the look of the softopper on that gladiator, really reminds me of old school military trucks
The camping setup on the orange JK is how to do it! Love it. Just a couple steps away from my build being that, but just for 2
Great time… gods to see our friends from last year and meet new ones.
This is a great video! Super job Brad😉
Beautiful landscape!!!
Great video and love the different set upd
Great video as always. Videos like these really give those of us that build our own things ideas. I do have to rib you a little about the 295/70r14 tires at 21:12 though. :)
I'm pretty much running a setup like that Nissan right now. Using a Gazelle tent instead of a rooftop tent. 6' bed. Recently went to a Jackery 1500 plus a Dometic 50 Qt. With a solar panel. A Snugtop Camper shell on my 04 Tundra. My 04 Tundra just turned 160,000 miles. But it is still well maintained. My camping gear is secure and weatherproof. The 1st Gen Tundra chassis is about the same as the current Tacomas..... But it has a 4.7 liter V8.
Wow great video showing all these great builds. Yes lovely location. I hope I can go to the Grand Canyon some day.
Love the longer videos. Great job sir.
Very interesting how many overlanders are now using trailers. Great "Coffee One-Take." Until next time..... Travel Safe.
That gladiator with the soft topper is awesome! I had no idea you can incorporate a soft topper with a bed rack
Hi! That's mine!! I have the Datin Fab rack which was designed to fit the Softtopper! I love it!
@@dubgurl1070 thank you for letting me know. Great solution and a good look jeep
We sure love your channel, thank you so much for all your amazing vids. ❤️🇺🇸👍
Awesome video. I love the different perspective. Every day vehicles. This would make a great series since most of us don't have the budgets to go all out?
Anyhow, thanks!
Great video! Love that 2dr JL!
Love your channel and the beautiful places you visit and the trails you do. I’m on the east coast but one day I’d love to do a trail ride out there.
wow! some great set ups! 👌
Good video with real life of what people are using! 👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍👏👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
The Hummer H3T was my favorite!
Love the Hiker trailer!
Probably because I have one myself! 😁
What an awesome spot / and setups.
That opening scenery! Amazing :)
Awesome stuff 👍
Brad, you're the best!
great video thnxs so much
Thanks for Grand Tour..
Great video thank you!
Loved the video from 🇨🇦!
My favourite videos are looking at other peoples set ups 👍👍👍cheers Brad
Thanks to this channel I became a Jeep lover aldough I dont have one. Looking forward to own one of these vehicles in the near future.
Great video as always. I really hope to be able to participate in an E3 Overland trail event someday. Maybe if you bring it to the midwest.
My overlander is a 1979 Chevy K10 with a 1982 FWC Keystone. Original outlay of $600. Of course, there have been upgrades over the last 12 years.
Thanks Brad for your video. It's awesome. Tell Regina the pancakes looks delicious.
Terraflex lift kit! Can't wait for a review on this I'm in the market for a lift for my diesel I wasn't aware they made a diesel specific lift 🙂
I love ❤ this channel, inspiration for go overland. Nice video and greeting healthy from 🇮🇩 Indonesia
Thank you!
I like how the "average joes" basically all drive a Rubicon, lol. I just ordered a custom built Rubicon today though, so no complaints.
P.S. love that you have your family with you.
I like seeing all these builds. When I go overland/camping, it's to get away from people. Don't think I could handle having this many people around me with their pets and everything.
I enjoy being off the grid and some solitude as well, but sometimes it is just as enjoyable to get out with some great likeminded folks, share stories and have some good commodore.
@@TrailRecon Thanks for sharing this video.
