Great video, thanks! TIP - To install the spacers into the rubber bushings at the end of the shock, I suggest liquid dish soap vs. WD40 or other petroleum-based lubricant as it prematurely will break the rubber down.
I had these on my ‘09 3500 for 2 years, I finally replaced them with bilstein steering stabilizers. I was able to use the brackets and setup from the original rough country kit. Now for the bad, when I removed the rough country stabilizers, first- they were badly rusted, I could have lightly sanded and sprayed them again. Secondly- these stabilizers are not positively charged, they rely on being heavily dampened , so after 2 years of basically being mounted where the piston or rod on the stabilizer sits on both while mostly driving straight, after pulling them off, I put one end on the ground and pushed to collapse them. I realized they both had a large dead spot where it felt like they was no resistance, so they probably were not doing any dampening at all on certain lengths of the steering stroke. Hate to say it, but you get what you pay for, invest in some quality stabilizers. Bilstein are certainly not the best but when you go to depress the rod to collapse the stabilizer and let go, it is automatically travelling to extend again along with heavy dampening. If you want the ultimate? Invest in Carli stabilizers,a pair consisting of an upper lower will run you over a grand. Or FOX ATS, a single pass through which has no positive charge, it relies on heavy dampening each way on the stroke. I’m not here to bash this video, but these stabilizers are inferior.
While towing the front end feedback is odd and seems to "float" back and forth like the load is swaying. After these, it went away. Thanks for the video. Made it easier to install
Hello!! Thanks for the video!! I just got my kit and first chance i get will get them on my truck! You make the installation look very simple i hope it goes that way😂
Thanks, I have a 2016 Laramie 6.7 Cummings 2500 . I’m 65 years old, didn’t want to trade due to the price. So I have been making my truck a new one, put a 2” level and Fox 2.0 shocks, Chetta turbo. So the next thing is a Carli traction bar and replace my stabilizer. Like your videos and the way you explain this replacement. I’m just trying to figure out the brand to use and two versus one, stabilizer.
Thanks to your video, I ordered one today for my 2015 Powerwagon. May have to icrease the lift a bit to install it though. But your video is great. Thank you.
Looking for some input as I couldn’t reach RC over the phone, so I’m thinking of ordering this for my 13 3500, when reviewing the specs it says a 2.5” minimum lift is required, but mine is 2”, I started wondering why the height would even matter as it’s bolted directly to the tie rods and axle so essentially no matter what height you lift it, your tie rod and front axle are gonna move up together and end up in the exact same spot in relation to each other, just figured I’d ask here to see if I’m missing something completely obvious as to why you would need a minimum 2.5” lift, any input or info is appreciated
How is this kit holding up? Also fruit for thought, invert the mounting brackets on the outer points and the stabilizers will sit level across from point to point.
Is there any stabilizer for the ram 1500?? After installed the oversized tires while driving i feel like the truck wants to wonder a bit every now and then..
@@gspadez so i installed mine but they dont hold up to my 2017 ram 3500 dually , mine is lifted on 40'' tires 15.50'' wide . just great lol now im going to try and stack them.
Is there a right or wrong way of installing the shocks? I seen some other videos but they installed the shocks the other way. I have my dual stabilizer for my 11' coming in soon
Do you know if there’s a kit like yours for a Dodge Ram 1500 2WD? My truck is lifted 6 inches with 37inch tires. I’ve noticed my truck goes off alignment easily with bumps I need a dual stabilizer but all I find are versions for 2500/3500. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks for the video, very informative and didnt leave any unanswered questions! I have an additional question, what kind of exhaust are you running? it sounds amazing and that'll be my next upgrade. +1 subscriber here
Great question! I have honestly felt no difference since the time I installed this kit and when I leveled my truck. I did do a 2.5 inch level, but that was not because of this kit. I do not know why a 2.5 inch level would be required, since we did not touch and suspension components.
@@moparvelousorbust7085 ok good to know. the description for the stabilizer on their site says it needs 2.5 inch of suspension lift for it to fit. have you installed a steering brace as well?
Still no change of heart. Its held up well over the last couple of thousand miles with no issues. I would recommend purchasing some sleeves/boots for them if you decide to purchase the kit!
Recently , I bought this kit and I have to say thst is really a poor quaality product !! Real bad paint job...!! Very disaponinted about it !! All paint is loose or and brake in most parts of the mount brackets ,one of rhe schock body was with cracs of paint too !! I called rough country and they said....due transportstion ....ja ja j a !!! Really not serious !! Poor package !! Never will buy again nothing about this brand !!!
Not as poor as your grammar Daniel. I have read about 100 reviews on this product and 99% positive reviews. But like most things in this world, not completely idiot proof. So there will always be one. I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 6" lift and this solved my death wobble issue. This video made installation a snap. Thank you!

Finally got mine installed today. I followed your video and because of you it was super easy. Thanks again.
Awesome, ordered mine last night, best video I found to assist with install!

The only way this video could have been better is giving the size socket or wrench you used to save me some time. Thanks for a great video!

Your truck sounds great!!
Exactly 👍🏻 you must love love your Ram
These are a huge improvment to me i felt a big diffrence
I just put this on my truck and night and day difference expeculy when running bigger tires no bump steer at all
Think this kit would work if you ran either Bilstein or Fox shocks instead?

Still no complaints, the road hasn't battered on it too hard!

Solid video thanks brother!!!
Question, what about the torque specs?

If you still have your Ram, hows the RC dual steering stabilizer holding up?

straight piped! Its got 5 inch pipes, full delete.
Does your truck have a lift??
?
So, this or steering brace?
P4UL I would definitely go with this for now, or at least a better dampener. Though I am not speaking from experience
The kits are only 100$ fron rough country i just bought one...
Is your truck factory height?
so with a stock height your not running into any issues with it being stock height the rough country site says its for a lifted truck of 2.5 or more.

Did you ever find one? I’m in the same boat
1500s don’t need stabilizers lol
does the truck need a lift for this stabilizer to fit and work?
Chaoswolve66 it does not! You don’t even need to jack it up off the floor, I only did to film.

Moparvelous Or Bust any reason why? Looks? Cleaning?
Gabriel Gutierrez just to protect the shafts. They stay clean for the most part, but you don’t want a ton of gunk on them.
Installed today. Thanks for the advice. Boots look great with it
if you need to lift your truck to work on it you dont need dual steering stabilizers....
