I'd recommend a transmission tune if you haven't gotten one already. You can flash it with EFI Live the same way as you flashed the engine tune. The good trans tuners can make the torque converter lock up much earlier and in lower gears. It puts more power to the ground and gives you a more connected feel. That stock transmission tune is really annoying how it just sits up at 3k rpm at wide open throttle through all the gears until it finally locks up in 6th at like 100mph
thanks man. I believe this has some light tuning in them for the trans. I specifically ordered the package that had transmission tuning.
You should do a turbo silencer delete. It makes it sound so much cooler and it doesn't hurt anything. It's also not too hard to do.
they have to be drilled out on the 6.7 turbos, an intake will do just fine and takes all of 5 seconds to swap in.

I did that on mine, i put the silencer back in after while. If it was the same sound as a borg warner S467 or something i wouldn't mind it. But imo it didn't sound that great

The ram head on the back has an indention in the tailgate, and there are 2 pins in the badge itself that go into the tailgate. Love the delete, just did mine about a month ago!

I have same truck with efi live ,trans tune and csp 5 switch,and egr delete and cold air intake. . .I've had it on the level 5 for about a year and a half , the only bad thing I can say about it is that my exhaust brake got clogged up and gave out about a year ago. but the turbo still keeps working the same , except now I don't have the e brake. I now just ordered the 2nd gen swap for it so I'm taking off the stock turbo and replacing with it. So well see how it goes. but as far as mods , I will be adding injectors and lift pump , as well as studs hopefully this year. I can't do too much since I'm in the process of building my house so you know how that goes. hey buddy you got a nice truck and thank goodness you went on and tuned it so quickly cuz otherwise it would've caused a headache with all the problems it starts giving and all. greetings from south texas and take care !!!!!

Even though you avoided power train warranty, in my opinion and experience working on and driving long haul in a semi with big 15 LT. Cummins you will get more power, better mpg, and a very long last engine then if you left all the emissions on. Transmission is a weakness in stock form or not when it comes to Dodge trucks. In my opinion I rather my transmission failed then my engine. You can get a really beefed up transmission you do your homework and shop around. Plus transmission is a bit more cheaper then a engine. Being a truck driver I am a Cummins fan through and through. You did a good job doing the work by yourself for the first time on a diesel. Just a word of advice you should at least get a muffler. Reason being depending on how strictly enforced the law is on diesel emissions in your area if your truck sounds like it does that is a sign for law enforcement to pull you over and do a emissions inspection. Mufflers should not hurt your power or mpg much if you get a good muffler. One other thing make sure you save your factory exhaust system. So when you do sell it you can return it back to factory settings so you can get more money or better trade in down the road. I am a Ford guy but with Fords European and complex 6.7 engine design I would rather drive a Ram with a Cummins any day of the week. Ford and GM may have more stock power but Cummins has the longevity and lower cost of ownership. You have a great looking truck and hope you get many years of enjoyment out of it. If have any questions about your truck and things that you may want opinions on if I am able I would be glad to help.
My grandpa drove semis his whole life from after WW2 until the 90s. The only engine he ever had was a Cummins!

Its not when you tune it, its when you remove the factory exhaust or tamper with it. That voids the warranty
Better than choking your engine and Vgt with soot if you plan on getting 500+k...trust me I got 225k on my deleted 07
Nice. It's amazing the crap they stick on the diesels now.
Not sure how old this vid is but you'll stretch the stock head studs pretty quick if you keep.running that high setting, and like some have stated, you'll burn up the trans unless it's built and bumped up pressures

don't sound bad you can tell it's moving some air now and custom tunes makes a world of difference on diesels especially when it comes to trans tuning

Glad the tuning worked. Following your 2500 build, love the Charger as well, to see if I want to delete my 2017 Laramie I picked up last August.
when you do a ecu tune you need to make sure there are no electrical draws or things like opening and closing doors making lights come on and off. This is not my advice but advice from people who know. I guess it can interfere with the write process, and as the engine breaks in it will run better and get better mileage. Nice truck and car

If you have enough money, you can do a 48re swap and get rid of the 68rfe. Randy's transmissions in Utah does the best transmissions in the nation for 48re and 68rfe

The ram head will leave a intention in your tailgate with a few tiny holes but you could always fill it in and hav it painted

And I don't know if it's a big problem with these 68rfe's but the third gens have a really bad cracking problem so a ats trans brace and a deep dish trans pan is a really good mod to do to these trucks

Yes on diesels the EGT's are one of the most important gauges you can have. Melt down occures inbetween 1200-1400 degrees. I can get on my truck and easily hit 1050 and I let off. Short bursts are not bad but riding as 1200 sustained would not be good, that being the need for for an EGT probe right into the manifold you will probably have to drill and tap (dodges are easy because the manifld is right there on top/side). Its 1/8th-27 NPT tap and thread size. You can get a combo drill bit and tap at napa or Amazon.

i did same setup on my 16 at 3k but with muffler .. that straight pipe is going to get old really fast lol... you'll love the upgrade nonetheless!
Did they fail to inform you the truck should be warm and at full operating temp when you shut it down to install the tuner? Makes sure your grid heater or anything doesn't cycle on and draw to much power. Those tuners are extremely sensitive and have to have 12.5 volts min.
if you.had to do it again I'd recommend removing the rf inner fender liner to gain access to the downpipe

At 12:39 traction control came on so I think the rear let go a little.
If all stock I wouldn't worry about egt probe they get pricey from edge you don't need it till you start doing bigger injectors and turbos
My next truck will be a diesel. They last forever, I've seen them with a million plus on them and still going strong. I don't think I'll be doing anything tuning wise I'd rather drive it stock seems like once you start messing with them they don't last as long and it's all the time something that needs tweaking or changing.

I like the newer rams. But they new ones with the emissions and shit. That's why I love my 2003 Dodge Ram with the twin turbo cummins I barley have a haste with the truck no emissions bullshit or anything. I use it a lot for towing or hauling I have the full 8 inch bed
It's would look good the only thing is that there some holes on the back that you will have to cover

Just a heads up on the 4th gens when you remove the ram head on the tailgate there's a indentation stamped into the sheet metal steps in like 1/8 from the rest of the tailgate skin, my co workers got stolen and it looked bad with out it

Just a heads up, if you remove the front fenders, underneath there is some sharp metal that holds other stuff.
When I took one apart I noticed some stuff under there wasnt as shiny and smooth as the outside of the fenders.
I also noticed when I took the wheels and tires off, the truck didnt roll or drive quite as well. I sent RAM an email complaining about these serious flaws
That truck is so nice ! Glad the tune finally worked and seemed like a ton of sections of pipe for a single exhaust. Couldn't they make it will some longer pieces? My vote is to leave the Ram. Great video

I dont know about on the 2017s but i know that big badge on the tailgate on my 2012 is inset in a shallow indention in the tailgate.

I have a 2017 and can't find a EGR Delete kit. I tried Sinister Diesel and other web sites and was told none was made as of yet for that particular yr. Have you had any luck?
So it’s been 2 years and how is you engine and transmission holding up with bigger tunes? When you started from a stop the RPM looks like it was 6k but did it ever shift gears cause the exhaust was to loud to hear a shift. I would add a muffler to make it a bit more quieter(that’s just me)

Its configurable,you can put anything there.
I was edgy as hell watching the tune go thru...(hoping it wouldn't crash). The new exhaust sounds great man, you rocked it!! Yea scrap the ram head on the tailgate, the new badging will give it a good look. Looking forward to more vids and the dyno stuff. Keep on keeping on man🤘🏼

What's the cost of def and egr usually run on a 2013-18 cummins?? I've been looking at a 2012 BC no DEF, but pricing of the 2017 cummins are not that far off as far as a price difference...
Great video but did you also do the EGR delete too. I did my pipe and have the EFI tuner so far and want to delete the EGR asap. Think it might be bad since it uses more fuel and at start up I have a while cloud trailing me.
