  • Look, owning a high-performance car can be a real pain in the ass. This is a story about the Ford Mustang Mach 1, which we'll get to in a moment. But for some context, I want to introduce you to my Dodge Viper.
It's cool and fast and attracts a crowd, but you can hardly see a thing out of it - meaning that parking is often stressful, the driver feels less informed and more vulnerable in relation to their surroundings, and doing a lane-change requires a thorough investigation be launched before blinker activation is considered. Elsewhere in 2008 Dodge Viper SRT-10 land, the fuel consumption is less than spectacular, and the ride on real-life roads with potholes and frost heaves and manhole covers prompts a wince-inducing roller-coaster ride to rattle-ville for the interior parts, as well as your spine.
Look, I love this car and I've driven one for eight years and I'll probably always have one. I'm just saying it's a pain in the ass at times, which is why we tend to drive cars like this on special occasions.

I owned a new17 gt PP w recaros n tracked it on 4 diff road courses for 4 yrs I traded it in for the 21 mach 1 w handling pack n recaros n was Disappointed that I spent 30k more basically for 20 more hp, a cooler looking car and yea- cool upgrades. Point being as far as track- my buddy has identical 17 I had (we only did I take upgrade n chip n he was Just as fast for most part. He’s abt same driver as me. I just felt for 30k more, shoulda been noticeable diff in the speed/pull etc.

What are your thoughts on the splitter for daily use? Is the ride height still livable outside of parking anxiety? I'd love to get one with the performance package and I'm wondering if I should remove the extended splitter during daily driving duty where I may encounter speed bumps and various grades of driveways.

As much as I love the Mach 1 it is twice the price of my 2019 GT and I have a hard time justifying or seeing the value considering there is no real engine difference. The only real appeal over the GT is the Tremec transmission. The Mach 1 is definitely more track ready than mine but I will never be on the track often enough to justify it and $38k can buy you a lot of upgrades.

Prices went up. Mach 1 Premium costs 3.5k more (56.5k) than similarly equipped GT Premium PP1 with digital dash, active exhaust and MagneRide (53k), check the build & price yourself. For the higher price it gives a lot. It's about whether you want the added performance, handling, endurance, historical reference/badges, stripes etc. 2019 GT is fine, if I had it, I wouldn't upgrade either. I don't, so I went with Mach 1 VB :)

I hear you, unless if you really want to then go but the GT is definitely fine with the PP1. If I have a GT and want to upgrade, I would go with the Shelbys. GT350/R GT500.

@@dominikmervart In Canada the Mach 1 is $15k more vs a new GT $4500 discounted with 401A with MagneRide (after taxes). And that's just for the 600A with base wheels. Add the 700A and handling pack and it's $20k after taxes.

ive seen lot of u gt owners say the bs over and over again. ok for one, mach 1 is a mach 1 not a gt, stop trying to justify the price. i owned the 2018 gt and i traded it in for the mach 1 so dont think im all talk

A heavy American car that tries to impersonate 🙂 a sports car but only goes in a straight line but not very fast...no 50/50 balance...no traction off the line...and ride quality kills your back...oh and the best part...a 10 speed transmission... like a 10speed bike...lol... Americans still cant build a car 100yrs later🤣
