It's not. The engine is fundamentally flawed, it was almost cancelled by Ford, but it needed a halo car at the time to compete against GM and Dodge. It's a very unreliable engine. The silver lining is that the GT350 was a beta testing platform for the S550. Everything wrong with the GT350 was perfected in the subsequent models.

I'll stick with my 2020 Bullitt. Sock Bullitt sounds WAY better than the Mach1, and looking at the stats of a PP1 GT vs. the Mach1, I'll really stick with my Bullitt..
Ford really screwed up the Mach 1 pricing here in Canada. There is a $13k price difference between an equally equipped GT 301A with PP1 and MagneRide ($55,000) vs the base Mach 1 600A ($68,000). And that's before taxes or the $3k discount on a GT, which you may not get on the Mach 1. Depending on which province you live in, realistically it's +$18k more after taxes or +$23k with the handling pkg. Insanity. No wonder they are all still sitting on the lots up here. For comparison, in the US the same price difference from a GT 301A/401A to a Mach 1 600A/700A is only $5k-$6k 🤔

I've driven the GT350 and I didn't like how the exhaust goes into quiet mode in 6th gear. Does the Mach 1 do the same thing?
The Mach 1 does not go into quiet mode. On the highway with the exhaust in track there is a nice rumble, but not too much.
