I've had a '71 Boss 351, '72 Sept.'71 build '72 Mach 1 351 2v ram air, '86 5.0, '05 GT, and '21 Mach 1. New Mach 1 after 13 mos shuts down everything on the road. All traction all the time w Ford Revmatch, 80mph w ease on farm twisty roads. Ford Magnaride creates incredible stability. Best Mustang I've had. Lays down power w no tire spinning. My '87 Grand National makes 900 ft lbs but suspension cannot hold it down.
I have a GT350, so obviously that's my choice. However, with only 3 years left on the warranty, Im having thoughts of swapping out for the Mach 1. Im not sure if I'll enjoy the car out of warranty given the unpredictability of the Voodoo
I love the GT350. The voodoo is the best sounding engine EVER! But I agree, the unpredictability of it is worrisome. That being said I think the Mach 1 would bring just as much joy with more piece of mind
As an owner of the Gt350 and I've sold/driven all the other options...I'll choose Gt350. If they decide to put a manual Tremec in the Gt500 that might change.
Not typically a Mustang guy. I’m a Corvette man. However I do appreciate a really good looking vehicle that can have performance. I really like the new Mach 1 . It’s a great looking car with the old time influences Plus it has a kick ass power train
No hesitation here, Shelby GT350 for me. This is a well balanced drivers car for curvy roads. Handling is amazing for under 70K price mark. And that sound of Voodoo is symphony to my ears.
The Mach 1. For bang for the buck and how good it is for daily driving and the occasional track day, I'd go Mach. The 350 is gorgeous and there is SO much to love about it, but dang, that's just out of my price range.
Enjoying my 2019 Bullitt purchased a few months ago but my ultimate goal is the new GT500. Just wish they came in a manual transmission like the previous generations from Shelby.
How are you feeling about the Bullitt? I’m seriously in the market for one. I also own a 13’ Boss 302, which I absolutely love, it’s a beast and super fun to drive, but long periods of driving is a little obnoxious as the car is completely in your face, super comfortable, but just loud! I’ve always liked the bullitt and it seems to have nice horsepower with some driving comforts for weekend road trip or a cruising with your girl without getting the crap beat out of you, ha! I’m keeping the Boss, just wanting to add a stablemate! Thanks for your time. Cheers 🍻
@@jasonlommen4769 The Bullitt is pretty cool. It’s more road friendly with the IRS suspension compared to the S197 which I assume you know that already. I had a 2012 Shelby GT500 for a lil while in 2021 and if you take the supercharger whine and the immediate torque away, the Bullitt is right there with the Shelby. This is a stock for stock comparison in my opinion. I went from a 2015 Mustang GT to the Shelby, then to the Bullitt. It’s fun and the top of 2nd gear doesn’t take long all the way to the top of 3rd. It caught me by surprise on how quick it is for a N/A setup which with the GT350 intake, throttle body and manifold, it loves the +7000 RPM range for sure!!! Now throw a supercharger on it and it would be the perfect car with around 700hp wheel on pump 93 octane.

I would have gotten the 350 of it wasn't for the vibration and oil consumption issues, and engines blowing. I got a sick deal on my mach1 paid 54k for my 21 handling package with only 800 miles. Brand new car. Couldn't be happier
Heck. I was hoping YOU'D tell me which one! I have a 2012 GT 500 which I bought new in 2011, and now 11 years later, I'm looking for something more modern to add to my little fleet. I can't even make up my mind on AT vs manual, let alone one of these variants. I'll tell you the only one I DON'T like: The GT500. It's too heavy, the fuel mileage (AND the tire mileage, AND probably the brake mileage) are ridiculous, the car's too expensive and too heavy. I mean, there's just no finesse here, is there? All of the others are wonderful, so it's hard to make a decision. The Mach 1 might be it.
I have a Mach 1 on order which will price in around 64k, no telling when it will arrive. But I just found a 2019 Bullitt with only 191 miles on it for 51k. That seems like a lot of car for 51 compared to the Mach 1 at 64k. Do I wait or snag the Bullitt? Dilemmas dilemmas
I went with the Mach 1. It really is a great machine. I think I’d have been happy with the Bullitt as well, but the aggressive look of the Mach, won me over.
I have the 2021 mach 1 with tremec 6speed with handling package. I might trade it in for a 2021 white Gt 500. The only complaint I have for the Mach 1 is it throws rock like crazy , the front tires to the rear quarter panel. Not sure if I can live with that. I think it’s the pilot cup 2 tires and rims that are the same size as the Gt 500. The Mach 1 is amazing in the turns and super fun to drive though.
The Mustang has great handling actually, the only thing holding it back is weight. Heck it rivals Vettes already, don't even mention the Ford GT because even tho it costs a liver it still is better than any of the mentioned cars, that's just the facts.
Personally if the GT500 came with the Tremec 6 speed manual, not DCT, I would not hesitate to get that car. The next choice would be the GT 350, but they stopped producing that car. So I ordered the 2021 Mach 1 handling pack, with the 6 speed Tremec last week and it will have a Whipple stage 1 installed. Basically the cheap way to get a suedo GT500. Cheers.
Frankly, I think the GT500 is overkill to the point of it being almost useless. Apparently, the tires are good for possibly two afternoons at the track . . . and hustling with it, the gas mileage is abysmal. Ford lists GT500 mileage as 14/18 city/highway, but driving around town, you are not going to get anything close to 14 mpg. 8 is more like it. Tiny gas tank, no range. Nah, you're better off with any of the other "variants." I have a 2012 GT500 I bought new. I still love it, but am thinking of adding to the fleet. I can do 26 or even 27 highway mpg, but I know damn well that around town I'm getting sub-10 mpgs. There's a point at which . . . So, to me, while the Mustang is never going to be a utilitarian vehicle--and you don't want it to be--the latest GT500 is not going to be satisfying.
Its all about GRIP. The PP2 wears close to the same rubber as the M1 TP and the 350R+ some weight. Skid pad #'s for the PP2 1.06g and braking 60-0 94ft which was the same as the 1LE Camaro .. the Camaro was later tested 70-0 @ 141ft, so its safe to assume the PP2 would have matched that number as well. Its really safe to say that the M1 is a PP2 with coolers, a 350 Temec and the Bullit tune. M1 TP is terribly overpriced, but Ford has the keys to the game.
Surprised with braking results as the Gt350 has better Brakes and Brembo's in the rear as well. Plus it's lighter? Hmm better brakes and less weight? The base suffers due to not as sticky tires like the R and the track pack Mach1.....I have also read the Mach1's brakes fade when heated on the track with constant braking/heating.
I am surprised how well the 2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca holds up to these cars using Car & Driver’s measurements. At 4.2 sec, it beats the Mach I and Bullitt to 60, it is only .1 sec slower than the Mach I and Bullitt in the 1/4 mile, is .01 better on the skidpad than the Bullitt and almost even with the GT500, and is dead even on braking 70-0 with the GT350 and GT500 and beats the Bullitt by 9 ft.
I own a 13’ Boss, not LS edition. But I love this car, it rips. Track it, street it. Just not great for long drives as the car is pretty loud and obnoxious after about 90 minutes of driving with the quad exhaust. It does come with a regular key, but really what’s the point of that, right! I’ll never get rid of my girl!

Almost 65k? For nearly 20k less you can get a SS 1LE that will match or beat the March 1 in every performance metric. Mach 1 is nice but not at that price.
Along with not being able to see, unless you’re 5’5 or shorter! Yes I’ve driven one and couldn’t see shit!! Mustang has much better visibility and it’s looks cooler, imho!
As much as I would want my Unicorn "Shelby" GT350, they don't make them and I need the Full Warranty with Extended if I was going to get into Payment Plan. Therefore, a fully Spec Mach1 Handling Package, because of how it stops, and Latteral G. Which means you don't have to get on and wear out the Breaks and attack the corners better. 👦🏻👍🏻🏁🏎🏎
Dude nothing is tanking down anytime soon, market is crazy, I just bought my 21 mach handling package for 59k and the dealership I work for offered my 66k for it. I rather enjoy it than sell it at this point but you thinking this mach 1 is gonna lose 20k is crazy talk! Good luck tho😶
No way a 2019-2020 GT350R is 2 seconds faster than a regular GT350. Same same damn engine as the R after 2019. ... and the same tranny... makes no sense to me.
There was no test where there was a 2 second difference. 0-150 was a 1.2 second difference (22.0 vs 20.8) That being said the stickier tires and being 127lb lighter would explain the difference
You forgot to mention that the GT350 and Gt500 have the Voodoo engine 5.2L with the cross plane crank that sounds out of this world! and revs to 8300 rpms
The Shelby GT350 triggers Mach 1 owners. There is a bad need for them to argue their car is better....Its simply not. The Shelby is special from front to back...

I am Norwegian and live in Norway, and here it is only possible to buy Mach 1, so after seeing this, it may not be so wrong with Mach 1 after all.

Just to add to this comparison, a 2018+ GT with PP1 and 10R80 auto does 0-60 in 3.8s and 1/4 around 11.8 at 118+ mph
So the 10 speed Mach1 should beat that number having 20 extra HP
It's essentially a GT350 with 5.0 a coyote bulliet engine instead of a 5.2 voodoo.

Yep. Same for my 2019 GT350. I change tires from Cup2's to Michelin Super Sport and that stopped. I also did PPF on rear qaters too.

Mach1 is slower then the GT. Every street race, Mach1 looses every time, due to its heavy weight.

The GT350 has the flat plane crank and revs to 8,300 but the GT500 has a cross plane crank amd revs to 7,500. Both do sound amazing tho 😍
