@@kelzs6965 thanks kelz , hope u hit that subscribe too 😎
Thanks for the walk around. We go there 3 times a year but have had to cancel so far due to the shutdown.
I’ve just watched every video on this channel and really really enjoyed every one, this should have been the 2nd to last day of my holiday in Hemsby a place until 2 years ago I’d never heard off
Been there many times when my children were young... All the family use to go every year
I come here every year for holiday with my whole family, I can’t believe we missed it this year. I love Hemsby so much. Haven has always been in my heart 😔
Happy holidays! this year!
Thank you so much for this video. I’m from The Netherlands and visit Hemsby every year for 35 years now. This is the first year that me and my parents can’t come over. We are so sad as it is our second home and we made so many friends throughout the years. Seeing this video still makes me a part of Hemsby. Thank you very much!
Thank you fabienne 😁
Great walk around vlogs. Been a regular visitor to Hemsby since 1966!. Never have seen it deserted like this though. Hopefully never again!. Missing Hemsby and my great friends there. 🤞🙌👍
These videos should become a part of showing 2020s lockdown history in the future
Maybe dayna
Great video, thanks for the upload. I`d like to vote for a walk round potter highem or wroxham please.
Hi jon, yes great idea once we are out of lockdown
We used take the children 2 Hemsby every year... Now they have all grown up and married... And we still go there even now.. Lovely place...2go.on holiday 👍👍
Thanks for watching
2:42 we stayed in those chalets once, we there there in the April, and the place was so damp, the bed sheets were soaking wet.
Wow, I had almost forgotten how deserted everywhere was during the lockdown - quite eerie! Hopefully it’s back to its normal bustling self these days!
Great memories of a Holiday there in 2011, can't believe it is 10 years since although We didn't spend much time in Hemsby and went into Great Yarmouth every day. Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories Tim. Great job.
Thanks there are plenty more video on hemsby to watch on my channel
@@WalkWithMeTim I will definitely check them out.
look forward to getting back down there it's a great place to be. I have been going there for last 35+ years and still enjoy it. Lovely people and great cafe's/Amusements
Lacon Arms do a lovely Sunday Carvery. So looking forward to The end of the lockdown so we can visit our chalet. Thanks for your walk round great to see Hemsby during these times
Been coming to Winterton for 47 years. Now walking with hubbie and mini me to Hemsby on our many visits throughout the year. Mini me loves m&b’s. Whilst we drink a Jack Rabbit outside or in the Lacon’s! Great video 🤘🏻
Always busy always fun to be there ... so hope all will get back to normal
Working at pontins was the best time ever fantastic memories ❤
🎒Wow. You are crushing it on views. I can understand why. I enjoyed the talking and history and descriptions. Well done. -Henry
Thanks Henry!
Loved the trip down memory lane. I started going to Hemsby in the 1950's and my last visit was in 2010 shortly before I moved to Wales. we used to stay at Longbeach but walked into Hemsby every day. The Blue Dolphin fish and chip shop was amazing.
Thanks for sharing pamela
Wow never seen it so quiet glad you've done this video. Stayed at belle aire and love the oasis especially the bingo! Been going to Great Yarmouth for 31 years
Costa del Hemsby. Happy memories from the 70s and 80's.
agree
We come to Hemsby almost every year, have done for 30 years and stay at Richardsons.
love Hemsby been holidaying here for over 30 years and missing being there this year hope everyone is safe and well, hopefully see you all in september
I'm American but half my family is from England - I used to visit every summer when I was younger & we went to Hemsby 7 or 8 times probably between 2006 & 2014. Great place, shout out to Martin's Bingo & the Two Way Cafe! Last time I went there, about 6 years ago, it was crazy to see the transformation of the Dunes & Beach from a couple of major storms they had....
Thanks for sharing!!
very nice footage. and very informative video. a peaceful and great walk. have a nice day
Thank you, hope u subscribe
@@WalkWithMeTim youre welcome
Looks like a lot of amusement for kids and adults as well. What a fun place it was and still is. Again, almost the best part are the comments and the nostalgia they express from their experiences there. Hope it rebounded from the lockdown and is up and flourishing.
I can remember go loads of times with my kids loved it walking up and down the sand, dunes bloody hell the trampoline still there
Yes I know still there ...
went to newport caravan park when i was 17 with my parents, i am now 65, and still visit for hols, if you get the sunshine it can compete with anywhere abroad, beautiful sands, great shops, lovely local people.............but Tim stop telling everyone shhhhh, love your honest and enthusiastic love of the local areas, great job, and respect.
Thanks for the tips! lol
OMG I just love Hemsby I came here so many times as a child . I've now brought my own daughter on holiday here. . So many memories I haven't been since 2016 I'll have to come up and visit soon . We used to stay here and Newport. We used to go into great Yarmouth for the day or evening whilst staying at Hemsby. Great memories Thanks for sharing with us. Tracey xxx
Hopefully looks a bit better now
love this. I have been coming to Hemsby for 30 years and still love it
look out for new hemsby video coming soon
I love hemsby and always will.xx
I was a waitress at Seacrofts in 1963, holidayed in Hemsby with a friend and her family before that. We had such fun both on holiday and working really wanted to go back in 1964 wish I had. It was so different though there was only a small arcade run by Fred, the Pub and a cafe but that’s all we needed. We enjoyed the entertainment in the camp but the Bishop family were very good I remember, so were the holiday makers.
thanks for sharing Patricia
My nan used to own a caravan in Hemsby I used to go sown there with my family for many holidays happy memories
Great video. When I was young we'd come to Hemsby/Newport on family holidays, now we travel over from Ireland with our kids every year. Gutted we won't be over this year. Thanks for the tour anyway, going to watch the rest of your videos too, all very familiar.
Thanks Tom, don't forget to share and subscribe 😀🙏
just found this cant beleive how much it has changed from dirt roads to the look now of such a nice place
thanks for watching
We were supposed to be staying in the Opal chalets on back market lane on the 23rd of this month, we will miss being there, I have been going on and off since 1976. The Bakery was Bevan's bakery, they did massive cakes.
CMG massive chocolate eclairs 😋 they were delish x
@@kelzs6965 My parents used to send us to Bevan's every morning to get cakes and bread, the eclairs were massive as were the cream donuts and apple turn overs, I was also partial to the mixed strawberry and vanilla 99 ice creams they did at the Dunes.
Love holidaying in Hemsby been going to Yarmouth area since I as a child and still do to this day. Brings back so many memories.
thanks for watching
Used to come to hemsby in the 80s and 90s staying at pontins .
The grabbing mashines were just coming into fashion and we used to go home with hundreds. And an eclair from bevans .the market was on sudays .it used to take us the whole morning to work to the beach
Hi Tim I love Hemsby and love all your videos of Norfolk I use to work at M&Bs about 11 years ago now live in Doncaster keep up with your good work love watching your videos I miss Norfolk I use to live in lowestoft thanks again from john from Doncaster.
i love hemsby so much has changed
and again this year
Love Hemsby , Great Video! just subbed!
Thanks for this really great walk.
Sweet job Tim!
Brings back some good memories My first job was collecting laundry, cleaning windows, mowing grass etc. for a chap called Tony Witheridge, who let out chalets around Hemsby, mostly on the Belle Aire site; think I started in '95 when I was 12. Those were the days! Great guy. Used to finish then go spend a few quid in the arcades before cycling back to West Somerton where we lived.
Few years later and we most definitely popped our underaged drinking cherry in MB's!!!
Good to see Beach Road looking clean and healthy hopefully everyone their will survive the lockdown losses and it'll be bustling with people enjoying themselves again!
Thanks for sharing the memories i love reading them all
I was a lifeguard at Seacroft about 1986 🤗
We had family holidays at hemsby from 1962 until 1974. Had caravans on sea breeze (newport side).Cousins once stayed in one of the original chalets at sea Croft. Revisited hemsby in 2008 ,34 years later.like returning into a time warp. Happy memories. Now try and visit once a year
Thanks for watching Angela
Awww thank you for these videos....my family and I would go to Hemsby and Newport every year for our holidays...I first went when I was 2 and last went when I was 19...I'm now 46 and tbh neither have changed much....plus we used to have a day trip to Great Yarmouth... brilliant to see the snails and tubs are still there, went on those many times as a kid...also remember the really bad wax museum.,..but there was also a very good one at the end of the road near seafront as well.
Thanks for those memories denise, be sure to subscribe
Hi Tim thanks for the tour ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ hemsby
You're welcome
Going to Hemsby in 3 weeks time, hope it gets better by then :)
might be lock down again but at least its winter
Me and my best bud only discovered Hemsby about 18 months ago What a Gem. it's good in respect to see if empty so it's can be seen with out the crowds of people
wow only just discover it!
Great video bringing back a lot of memories. The Richardsons place looks nice, glad some money is being spent. Some observations from someone who has been going for 40 years. (Just for conversation).
The Seadell site was where my nan and gradads chalet was, remember there was a cut through behind her chalet (number 100) through to the Florida Club, remember the arcade, shop, entire under 18's part, and fish and chips for the journey home! The arcade was great after hitting the fruit machines on the seafront as kids had been filling them up all night! Easy wins on the 2p ones!
The shop used to rent those weird side by side bikes too, and had a terrible of comics i remember from my childhood!
It looks like my old fave Saturns Palace arcade has been knocked down after being various other things including the Harley Davidson shop or did the video just miss that? Just before reaching that building was an open fruit and veg stall, replaced with tacky gifts and other things. Then the mini golf behind it which might be where the karting is now?
I think before Bevans was Bevans it was Robinsons? And had the rock shop attached. Further along before reaching Oasis was a little arcade called Crystals.
Ceasers was my least fave arcade as the owner (who you now revealed owns a lot, not sure if he always had) but used to ban us accusing us of locals even though me and family are from Norwich. Opposite the side entrance was a club called Copacabana and another small arcade.(all gone now i imagine).
Mirage was Flamingo's, but Sands and Oasis have always had those names along with Las Vegas which always had the nice cafe attached. The Mr Bs arcade was always a last resort and never a fave. But between Mr Bs and Sands used to be a huge arcade (felt huge as a kid) with 2 or 3 rooms which is now replaced by gift shops, hair dressers etc.
Lacon Arms was rarely used by my family growing up as imagine it was more expensive than the site clubs. It had a great arcade which I want to say was called Dolphins. Even the hut toward the beach was an arcade in the 80's which was now a life boat store. And there was toilets opposite which had to be paid for but no others down the sea front!
The fun fairs slide claimed a victim with me when i was young, massive friction burns on my elbow!
Cannot remember what the diner used to be in the 80's though.
Love the video and always trying to find photos/videos of 80's or early 90's Hemsby/Newport things. hit me up if you know of any!
Wow so much has changed since we last went, we use to stay at a holiday cottage in the dunes from 1970 and as we have all got married and had children now they have children my niece and her family and my sister In Law still have have a week there every year as they all live in Lincolnshire, my daughter pops to see them every year but hubby and I haven’t be down there for 7.
The Lacon Arms had a bingo place next to it on the left in the 70’s most of my bottom draw (things for when you get married) we saved bingo wining tickets and so did the family for us and we got everything for kitchen an bathroom. Sorry don’t mean to go on but so many happy memories again thanks Tim x
Wow, thanks anni, it's fine I love reading everyones memories its always special for everyone unique aswell
Can remember spending many evenings here whilst on holiday
Raining in the Boro so what a way to make the day better revisit hemsby loving these walks x
Thanks ali
Great video.bringing back great memories.I remember the night club opposite the Lacon Arms in the late 70’s early 80’s.The Stardust,if I remember correctly.many a good summers night in there!
Then in later years, remember taking the children to the fair and arcades.I think there was a small bowling alley next to the Lacon too.
Once again,great video.
Love visiting hemsby and the dog friendly cafe and my kids love the little funfair
Once in a lifetime walk sunny warm and no one around in such a lovely place,
agree
pontins sea croft lovely memories and a wonderful outside swimming pool
Take me back there now please....I love itxxx
So pleased to come across this video. I met my husband in 1972 when I worked at Seacroft Holiday Camp which you now point out is Ruchardson's. I did waitressing there for the summer season and my husband was working in the kitchens. It was still owned by the Bishops then and was the last time they were there as Pontins had bought the camp. Great to see the screen shot if the original frontage of Seac
Thanks Lynn, hope u subscribed you might see even more memories
This video has Brought back so many memories when I used to go to Hemsby with my parents. Remember staying at Bel-Air,We always used to come in October half term week when it will be cold and blowing a gale but we loved it spending hours in the Arcades. He hasn’t changed one bit all it’s missing all the people and the flashing lights obviously as well and the music from the arcade in the bingo calling. Haven’t been to Norfolk for a long time. But maybe one day soon we’ll make it to the area with my kids.
Thanks mark, more videos coming from Norfolk very soon
Walk With Me Tim Even though I now live in Shoreham-by-Sea. Watching all your videos has made me feel in a way holiday sick( I grow up in Hertfordshire so Great Yarmouth and area was easy to get too)
Superb views without people, only happened that no one can tell.. nice video. 👍

Totally agree
Hemsby thanks for the memory mate had some great times with the family, great quality on the camera work and narrative ........ Passing the big figure outside Caesars ,,,, Then down to the pub at the far end near the beach , for a cool pint love it
That is scary how quiet it is around there at the moment.
I was the Nurse at Seacroft back in 1996. Happy memories!
wow memories!
Amazing how you are able to edit all the video together how you are able to do sky high camera views that's something new I've never seen before I watch a lot of travel and walking tour video's but that camera view above in the sky is something new.
I like all the history that you tell us amazing video brings back a lot of memories of norfolk on all the times I used to visit over the year's.
Bevan's was fantastic in the '80's the portions were so generous. One week me and my parents spent in Hemsby it rained all week and the daily trip to Bevan's was our highlight.
On one occasion my dad chatted to the owner and he was very friendly telling dad about how they spent six months in Hemsby and the other six months at their other home wherever that was.
I had a crush on the waitress who may or may not have been his daughter but couldn't even pluck up the courage to say hello.
Happy times when both of my parents were still alive.
Thanks chris for sharing, did you ever get the waitress name?
No I didn't unfortunately.
Thanks TIM

Very good walk round Hemsby. You've got really good local knowledge Tim! You forgot to mention the in laws cycle hire in Beach Rd but enjoyed it. Well done! 🏖️😎
i must have forgot about that bit deb lol
In 2019 I came here , and at little John's my muma told me she was pregnant 🥰
Oh
Hi Tim watched these vidoes with my kids absolutly love them and clever editing and commentary. You also have a great voice. I grew up going to Hemsby and now take my own kids there.
Thank Ross, hope you subscribed to see more 😎
Has really changed. Went there throughout my childhood in the 70s and worked down there one summer in the 80s. Can remember just a few arcades originally ,2p a go bingo in 1972 near the Lacon Arms. You were right about there being a nightclub it was called Stardust Disco if I remember.
Thanks for sharing Matthew, remember to subscribe
used to go to yarmouth and hemsby with my grandparents for a week every summer, and take a friend with me. I have loads of memories being salty at losing crazy golf and begging them for more change for the arcades and eating fish and chips and slush puppies lol. id love to do a day trip again one day just for nostalgia honestly, your videos have become my pre lecture viewing material while i wait for online classes to begin lol.
Thanks .. what online classes are you doing
I was meant to be going there over the Easter, my kids were gutted that we couldn’t go!! China boy has to be one the best Chinese I’ve ever had 😍 can’t wait for it all to open again just to get one

i absolutely love hemsby i always stay at richardson’s and i don’t have one complain about it , so weird to see it so quiet and empty 😱😁
Thanks for the comment Emma, remember to subscribe
I used to live in Stalham during the summer a group of us would ride our motorcycles there for fish n chips on saturday evenings.
Thanks, now i have seen Hemsby i want to go.
Have some great memories from when I used to live there 55 years ago. Whilst still at school I used to work weekends at a crazy golf course and have lunch at that round fronted restaurant next door ( can’t remember name) then in my late teenage years used to run a disco at seacroft holiday camp once a week. Great times. A school friend used to live in a wooden bungalow actually on the beach ( just to the right of beach cafe )
wow thanks for sharing steve im sure you miss it?
Love it thanks 4 showing dude
Any time!
This looks like such a cute place, thanks for sharing
Thanks mark
scary how empty everything is with this beautiful weather
My favourite holiday pleace
Above the Golden Dragon is small apartment. I have stayed in it many times whilst performing my old Blues Brothers duo. I would sit on the balcony on a chair and people watch for hours. So many strange sights including a woman who was identical to the nan in Benidorm. She even rode a mobility scooter. Funny old place. Bradley Walsh's brother in law had a cafe there...Del was his name.
Thanks
a random day with sunshine!
I love hemsby I go that every year!
thanks for watching
Me and my other half have just bought the chalet we stay in every year in Newport I’m so excited x
hope you have great holidays there
It's a pity we didn't get to see the beach & dunes - my favorite part of Hemsby, although not the vast beach of soft sand that I remember from my youth. My great grandfather built one of the bungalows along Long Beach Rd, and my parents owned it up to the early 1980's. My daughter and grandsons still enjoy holidays at Hemsby most years.
To be honest the dunes are staring to disappear, thanks for sharing your memories
Thought I ought to take a look at your first video! Immensely enjoyable, even three years on. When you asked me the first video I watched, I thought it was probably Cromer. But now, I pretty certain it was Southwold, somewhere I have always wanted to visit. It would be about two years ago when I was RUclips 'channel hopping'. So pleased I came across your channel.
Wow, thank you Barry yes you should visit Southwold its lovely
I once saw Bradley Walsh in the two way cafe 👍
lol
Loving you’re videos .would love u to do a Gorleston video and burgh castle surrounding area one 💙
Yes gorleston is coming on friday 🙌🙌🙌😎
Walk With Me Tim wow amazing :) can’t wait watch it .i lived in Gorleston
Lovely video, good to see familiar places, stayed at Richardson`s for many years, really enjoyed walking down Beach Road on many occasions. Had breakfast at the Beach cafe most mornings. Great place to make your base for a holiday. Would love to return but who knows what will happen.
Glad you enjoyed it
