It's close to useless!!! I have a $6,000 deductible!! Every doctor visit and RX comes out of my own pocket until I meet that deductible...and I never have because it starts over every year. American politicians don't care if we all die in the streets. All they care about is the donner class: Big Pharma, Insurance companies, etc... We need to DEMAND universal healthcare from all politicians now!!! People are literally dying! #FORCE THE VOTE!!! Make them work for US!!!

The dermatology statement about the UK is true. Me and most people around me don't even know how to contact a dermatologist. Honestly, if someone told me there were none in my city I would be like "really?" but I wouldn't be surprised...
The UK has lots of dermatologists! You find them the same way we have to find every specialist. Go to your GP with the problem, and they'll do first-line treatment, if that doesn't work then they refer you on to a dermatologist. It takes a while to reach this point if your skin condition isn't super serious or wide spread. By the time you get referred you're seeing consultant derm, so they're more used to treating the more serious end of the spectrum, where as if you go private you can be seen for smaller (but no less life-affecting) problems such as acne and rosacea.
@@Gigglypeach I had extremely bad eczema (my skin would peel) all over my body for years and my GP never referred me to a dermatologist she would just prescribe me a different cream each time for years, I also tried seeing different GPs and it was the same. and there's not much information about private derms available. at best I could google but there's no way to know if they're reliable. at least that's my experience.
@@Maddy45805 I'm sorry you had a bad experience, that sucks. I was just trying to describe the way it should work - the NHS is great, but it's bad at long-term care as you can attest to. And I agree, private is just as unhelpful. My brother was referred to a dermatologist for his acne as a teenager, but I wasn't because we had different doctors, even though we had it the same. Really does just depend on what doctor you see and how they decide whether you get referred or not doesn't it.
In the UK a lot of Dermatologists in the NHS tend to deal with more serious skin conditions such as skin cancer - it’s largely difficult to see a dermatologist for skin concerns like acne unless you doctor is willing to refer you. When I was a teen I had a really bad case of acne which my doctor prescribed a lot of creams that didn’t really work 🤷🏼♀️ luckily my skin has settled itself 😊 but it would have been good to see a dermatologist
It’s so weird to hear you put a price on a “normal” doctor’s visit. I’m German, and see a dermatologist once a year, just to have my moles checked, and ask any questions I may have about break outs, dark spots, etc., and it costs nothing. I’m really happy we have a partially socialised health care system.

I've taken advice from both, maybe more from James because him and I have the same skin type and his advice on products helped me with my skin issues. Just remember to go to a dermatologist to get your moles checked! I've had two moles removed with atypical cells and one of them was removed before I was 20. I just had another one removed as well. If you're someone with moles and even more so if one suddenly turns up in a weird place [note; my atypical moles that needed to be removed were beneath my bra strap and just below my bikini line] make sure to get them checked out.
I'm obsessed with the even prime barrier repair serum. It's reduced redness for me and my skin looks more clear and bright. I even stopped using it for awhile and came back to it when the redness reappeared, so I know it was that product that made the difference.
I totally relate to James- the doctor looked at my face for two seconds when I took my mask off, prescribed me tretinoin and that was it. It has been almost a year and has done NOTHING. I want to do more things over the counter but at the same time I feel like I have to follow what the doctor told me to do.
I think the dermatologist thing James said is a Europe thing. It’s really difficult to see a dermatologist here unfortunately.. it really sucks because a lot of people who have acne or other skin issues can’t easily access them..
For what it's worth, I also take 1 hour to do my nighttime routine. If I start rushing I force myself to slow down. I do it to de-stress. It's almost meditation.

24:00 The problem with CeraVe for me isn’t that they’re “too simple”. It’s because they’re not cruelty free. That’s why I rather buy The Inkey List or The Ordinary, for example. They’re also affordable and pretty “simple”, in the sense that I know what I am getting.
I watch Hyram, James, and Robert because I almost always feel better after one of their videos. As someone who is isolated, it just gives me something positive to look forward to. I have eczema too! My whole life. Check out Dr.Dray here on youtube. She is a dermatologist and she has lots of videos catered to different skin conditions. Dr. Dray also has eczema and has lots of videos about and she talks about it a lot.

@@nadinegomez8858 I've only used one product so far with it but the one I currently use is the physicians formula brightening serum with niacinamide and vitamin c. I'm currently on the lookout for the ordinary niacinamide serum for a decent price since I heard it's good.
i used good molecules niacinamide toner and it’s doing it’s job on making my skin brighter and i rarely break out now

24:00 The problem with CeraVe for me isn’t that they’re “too simple”. It’s because they’re not cruelty free. That’s why I rather buy The Inkey List or The Ordinary, for example. They’re also affordable and pretty “simple”, in the sense that I know what I am getting.

I have eczema too! My whole life. Check out Dr.Dray here on youtube. She is a dermatologist and she has lots of videos catered to different skin conditions. Dr. Dray also has eczema and has lots of videos about and she talks about it a lot.
