Acne is primarily hormonal and related to sebum production and bacteria deep within the skin, whether the skin is surface level dry or oily is irrelevant. Topical treatments only have so much impact. The first thing a doctor will do is put patients on an antibiotic to kill the bacteria when OTC BP fails. Sad so much overconfident misinformation is farted out by people who are lazy and can't do research.
