I remember Richie. He lived the jazz life, which is a life without a net, 401K?, say what? I once drove him to a gig in State College, PA from his home in Ewing, NJ. Richie was a talented and sweet guy.

Enjoyed seeing/hearing Richie in person a few times. He turned me on to Tadd Dameron's tunes. I particularly remember him playing On a Misty Night with vigor. He had an over-the-top vibrato that was his signature.
