I really like this negative painting. Even with the dark background you were able to have highlights with the yellow. And the gold accents are a nice addition. Very pretty.
Absolutely beautiful! Your work is gorgeous!! Thank you again for sharing your work with us and inspiring me to paint this piece. Your tutorials are so easy to follow because you explain everything very well. Negative paintings were something I’ve always had trouble with until I found your channel. You have a knack for teaching. Now I have beautiful paintings in my sketchbook as well as on my walls in frames. So thank you and keep these tutorials coming!!
Hi, I’m glad I stumbled on your channel and this painting is so beautiful and calming! Always was perplexed with negative painting. I’m very new to watercolors and this is very intriguing! Thank you for the tutorial.
Miss, u are a extra ordinary artist....love this art piece. IAM a beginner here . that's why IAM bad at painting... But I will definitely give it a try😄
Beautiful as always 🫶 I tried my first negative painting last night but forgot to watch your vid again and it didn't turn out quite right 😅 was still pretty! But will try again haha 🩷🩷
Can I use Brusto's Artists' gouache for the 'gouache painting part'? Is it ok to apply a coat of yellow watercolor mixed with white gouache after painting the lotuses with yellow watercolor? I mean is it ok to use white gouache instead of yellow gouache because I have only white gouache with me.
Sure. As long as it’s gouache, any brand will do. About using white gouache + yellow watercolors, it’s doable. Just have in mind that your yellow can become more pastel like when mixing with white. Also when it comes to white gouache there are two types. Permanent white (or Titanium white) Which is more opaque and not recommended for color mixing. Then there is Zinc white which is more transparent and suitable for mixing.
Lovely painting !… But I have a question… the circles with a portion out … what do they represent? They look like Pac-Man 😃… Would it be ok to keep the circles whole?
