Incredible Complete Resin Tutorial Kristen After Dark!! I am going to give it a whirl once I get a respirator mask! Thank you for such an informative video love!! You’re amazing at this!! Love you and Kayla!!💜🎨🤗
Kristen, these coasters are incredibly beautiful! I do appreciate your video on resining. I would like to ask about the stamp that you use on the cork. I looked in the description box but didn't find any info. Great job Lady!!
Hi, I love your videos and follow them alot. I can’t get this process to work. My finished tiles have blemishes and dips and welts on them. It happens almost every time. I tried using less resin and using more resin. I tried to spread it with sponges, brushes or just my finger and I can’t figure it out. Do you have any suggestions ?
Are you touching the tiles in between the time they dry and you resin them? I’m thinking maybe the dents may be in places where you’ve touched the tile? I don’t touch mine at all. They dry on the cups and then I resin them within 3-4 days.
@@KandKCreate Oh my goodness! That’s it! Yes I absolutely touch them and handle them and move them around and sometimes they sit for weeks before I resin them I will change my process! Thank you thank you thank you!
Thank you! I use the house paint to hold the tile in place on the spinner. Once done spinning I remove it and put it right onto the cups. The paint dries and then the tile just sticks to the cup on its own. I should also ,emotion that I tape the back of the tile so the paint is actually on the tape.
Oops don't have paint in the backs. Are you taping before you paint also? I'm going to look into your heat gun. I torch but maybe I need to invest in yet another tool. Anyway great video! BTW I also found if I pour the hardener down the side really slowly and stir like I'm in slo motion It helps with the bubbles.
Hi Jodie! Thank you for watching my video! I do tape the backs of the tiles before I paint. I’m actually pretty OCD about it lol. I use 4 pieces of tape and do it like a shadow box, one piece on each of the sides. You can see how I do it on the 6” tile (when I show how to remove the tape after you’ve resined). I do the same thing to the 4” tiles. Only a tiny little part in the middle ends up not being taped and that gets covered by the cork anyway. I personally love using the heat gun. It was about $25 at either Lowe’s or Home Depot. I also stir very slowly. In the video I have it a 4x speed but I actually go super slow. I find the heat gun gets rid of all the little bubbles so much better than the torch, but that’s just my experience.
I let the paint dry for 2-3 days and then the resin is dry to touch in 12 hours but I wait 2-3 more days before I put the cork on the back. I’ve never tried to use them as actual tiles, just sell them as coasters.
I really like this video. Thank you so much for sharing your info with us. I do have a question, do you clean your tiles before you resin? To get the resin to coat the whole tile?
Thank you! I don’t clean them. After I paint them I lay them on the paper cups to dry. They stick to the cups. With gloves on I then apply the resin. I’ve never had an issue of the resin not sticking properly.
Do you plan on using that rather large tile as a trivet? Will the resin be able to handle the heat from a pan out of the oven? Do you know of thing I can use to seal them? They are painted with alcohol inks.
I do sell the large tiles as trivets. The resin I use is KS resin and it is heat resistant to 475 degrees. That being said, I personally have not taken a pot or pan right out of the oven and put it on a resined trivet. I would think you could resin an piece made with alcohol inks.
@@KandKCreate I suppose you warn your customers not to, also? Epoxy resin does work with alcohol inks. I think I will try a clear coat for engines. Thanks for answering!
Really helpful. Wish I had watched this before I did my first coasters yesterday. They turned out good but I would have been better prepared about what to expect if I had watched this video first. Anyways I learned good lessons about peeling off the tape for tomorrow. BTW what do yo use to attach your coasters to the cups? 😁
It’s a year old video & I’m really thankful for it. I am getting ready to resin for the 1st & it is coasters. I hope they come out as beautiful as yours. Can I ask you how much you sell your coasters for.? I’m getting ready for a craft show in October & im not sure what to charge for the coasters. I have been doing Fliud paint pouring for a lil over a year now, I am running out of room to store anymore. Lol Anyway thanks for the great lesson & tutorial , it is very helpful and you do beautiful work.
Thank you! I use the house paint to hold the tile in place on the spinner. Once done spinning I remove it and put it right onto the cups. The paint dries and then the tile just sticks to the cup on its own. I should also mention that I tape the back of the tile so the paint is actually on the tape.
I've been thinking about resin coating my tiles made with marking pens. I think this resin is what I will try first. Good to see you wore a respirator! Your tiles are gorgeous! What did you use to create the pattern? Thanks for the vid!
Thank you!!! The KS resin really is great. I used the Shelee Art Bloom technique to make the patterns. I have several videos that show how to do that as well.
Hi Paulette! I have a few videos on how I make the tiles. Here’s one ruclips.net/video/DrGJZ6QvwvQ/видео.html. I also have a video on how I mix my paints, it video #37
Hi! I am just getting into doing resin coasters. And I’m not sure if you’re going to see my question since this was uploaded a few months back. But, do you have a problem with hot coffee mug sticking to your coasters? I seem to do you have any suggestions for this?
I may be asking this question way too late given the video has been out for a year, but.....do you have any trouble with the resin pulling back from the edges? Am I maybe using too much resin?
Hi Mary! I don’t usually have any trouble with the resin pulling away. I don’t touch the tiles at all once they’re dried. It’s important to wipe them down if they’ve been touched at all. Any oil residue from touching will cause the resin to not stick.
I don’t. They actually stick to the cup when I place them there because there’s paint on the back of the tile. Once resined and dried they come off the cups pretty easily.
Your tiles are outstanding.
Thank you so much Lorraine!!
Thank you for sharing this, your such a great teacher, your tone & the way you explain thing is very easy to follow & easy to understand
Thank you Nathan! It’s the nurse in me ☺️ I’m looking forward to watching your bloom coaster premiere tonight!
Thank you for a super resin tutorial. I had no idea how to do it! 😃
I’m glad I was able to help! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing this new technic

Beautiful tiles. I use ks resin also and it does bubble a lot. Yours are so much neater as you don't hav
It turned out soooo good!
Did you get the package?

Kristen, these coasters are incredibly beautiful! I do appreciate your video on resining. I would like to ask about the stamp that you use on the cork. I looked in the description box but didn't find any info. Great job Lady!!
Thank you Paige!! I customized and ordered the stamp on vistaprint.
Hello. It's beautiful. 2 questions. How does the Cork stick on. Where do you buy personalized stamps that you stamp on the Cork. Thank you
The cork has adhesive already on it. Just peel off the paper and stick on. I ordered my stamp from vista print
Do you have a video about how you made the art on the tiles?
Hi Susan! Yes, I have a few. Here’s one: ruclips.net/video/DrGJZ6QvwvQ/видео.html

@@annashyfrina5251 you can certainly wait the weeks to resin but you’d need to wipe them down first. I use baby wipes if I’ve handled the pieces.

How long do the paint and resin layers take to dry? Could these tiles be placed on a wall with thinset? Does grout adhere between tiles?

Can you reapply the epoxy to the coasters again if you need to?
Hello, Do you have a video on applying photos with resin? I can't seem to find the best one for heat resistant.

do you use duck tape to tape the back of the tile? Or some other type of tape?

I tell people to wait 3-4 weeks

I haven’t had an issue with hot mugs sticking but they’ve usually been cured by the time they’re used.
Just make sure the resin you buy says heat resistant as I don't see where it says it on this resin so, I'm a bit iffy on this one
I may be asking this question way too late given the video has been out for a year, but.....do you have any trouble with the resin pulling back from the edges? Am I maybe using too much resin?

Do you tape the tile to the plastic cup?
I don’t. They actually stick to the cup when I place them there because there’s paint on the back of the tile. Once resined and dried they come off the cups pretty easily.
How do I fix a problem once the resin is dried. A small bump or depression?
Once the resin is cured you have to sand it down with sandpaper and put another coat of resin on.
How to use this product?
Which product do you mean?
F that
