    Very cool, thanks for sharing. I love the nail file idea to sand the edges down. Sometimes those edges can be sharp. At least on my coasters they can be. 😊💟👍

      Naptime Creations So sharp!! Cuts from resin are like paper cuts, hurt like heck and bleed like crazy!

    I love the tutorial! Just have a question. Wouldn’t the paint wash off the back if you run it under tap water? I’m thinking about functional trivets and coasters

    • @JOTZdesigns
      @JOTZdesigns  2 года назад +1

      Thank you!
      Acrylic paint basically becomes plastic when it dries, therfore, so long as it’s painted well, and you’re not washing with something too abrasive, it should be fine! I had to double check though (I had to find one that was only painted, the ones I use have cork, so they don’t get washed, just wiped clean). I ran warm water on the back, and scrubbed well for about 20 seconds with a paper towel and zero color came off onto the paper towel.
      Thanks for the question and for watching! 🧡☺️

    I do taping and removal the same except... When initially taping tile I leave one "tab" on the tape I want to start pulling off first after resin is done.

    • @JOTZdesigns
      @JOTZdesigns  3 года назад

      Great idea! I have done that before, but I have had the resin seep under the tape at that point, so I actually avoid doing it now. I’m glad it works for you! Thanks for watching!

    I bought cork backing that is already sticky. Have you tried using that before or should I go ahead and add some of the E 6000?

    • @JOTZdesigns
      @JOTZdesigns  2 месяца назад +1

      I have not use it before, but I would also use some E600, too to make sure it stays. 🧡☺️ Thanks for watching!

    How much heat-resistance does the tile have when cured? I’ve been looking for a clear coat for some trivets that I painted with alcohol ink. I was told by the people at countertop epoxy, who make a heat-resistant epoxy to 500 degrees, that it’s only heat resistant, not heat-proof. They’ve never tested it by putting a hot pan directly from the oven on it. I just bought some to give it a try. Have you been able to put hot pans on the epoxy you used on your trivets?

    • @JOTZdesigns
      @JOTZdesigns  Год назад

      I do not put hot pans on epoxy. It is a plastic, and as Stonecoat says, it’s not heat proof. Any I use as trivets are used with dishes that have had some time to cool, or had the food transferred to them. Thanks for watching!

    If you were to add a rustic wood frame to these, would you use e6000 to attach the frame to the tile?

    • @JOTZdesigns
      @JOTZdesigns  3 года назад

      E6000 would work. Resin would also. Thanks for watching!
