@@ricardorodriguesrr18 Well put simply SWSH and Let’s Go had far better graphics. But besides that point, even if legends or SV(I’m not sure which game you’re referring to) had the best graphics in the series. The fact that you lower your standards because it’s not gta and it’s Pokemon is honestly just sad and shows why the games have been declining for years now in the visual department. Don’t accept mediocrity just because it’s Pokemon. If anything it should be held to a higher standard with how much money it generates.
This is absolutely one of my favorite Pokémon games, right up there with my nostalgia for gold and silver when I was a kid. The evolution of the capture and battle system was absolutely perfect. As excited as I am for the next one, I still wish we could get a legends in Joto, my absolute favorite Region
Yupp i'm 1 of those people you speak of. I have 6 entire pokedexs filled and 300 to 400 shinies. Shiny hunting is a passion of mine. I'm glad Legends can let the series try new things and bring in more people.
This game is so incredibly special to me. I remember the first trailer after the reveal coming out, and watching it over and over again. That trailer helped me convince my brother that we should go together on a switch just so we could play legends when it came out. My expectations going in to my first playthrough were unreasonably high, yet it was the most fun I'd had playing Pokemon. In one of the hardest times of my life (finishing highschool with plans on what to do next completely falling apart) this game was one of the few highlights. I doubt ZA will live up to Arceus in my mind, but I'm really happy gamefreak didn't have legends be a one-and-done situation.
I understood the nostalgia of a recent game the way you worded it. I felt the same way after 100% completing Sea of Stars after watching your first impressions of it and loving the journey and wanting to experience it for the first time all over again
It definitely has its flaws but it’s the most fun I’ve had with a Pokémon game since black and white 2. It’s the shakeup the Pokémon formula needed and for that I think it’s awesome.
A very strong, and obvious YES. It made me feel the way I did when I first played Pokémon. It was new, fresh, it made me feel part of the world. It struck every right chord in my mind, to be considered arguably the best Pokémon game to date.
Love this video! I really enjoyed that game! I plan on revisiting it soon. Life and other interests took over when this came out. You've inspired me to finish the game.
Just found your channel and much like you said in this video, so much of what I play these days is based on the vibes I get from the game. Sometimes things are critically acclaimed and I just can't get into it. I would LOVE to see your take on Legend of Dragoon!
Yeah, I actually have a lot of nostalgia for Tears of the Kingdom. It was the first new Zelda my fiancee and I played through together for the first time. we both had a copy and did different stuff, telling each other about stuff we found...it was awesome
If they do the pokedex similar to PLA i hope they do more interesting tasks for each pokemon instead of just catching and evolving multiple of the same pokemon. Like maybe add pohotgraphs and more feeding wild ones. Just more variaty of how to fill out pokedex entries.
The feeding ones and special single tasks were definitely highlights of that aspect. As annoying as it got to get a full moon, it was really nice to get to watch the Clefairy dance. The catch and use move tasks were.. less fun. Use moves, I feel, could’ve been better with some more possibilities for battles with trainers? Or at least cutting down how many are required
Comfortably my favourite Pokemon game. Trying to complete an alpha and a shiny dex I found issues with the space time distortion mechanics, just standing there for upto 40 minutes while waiting for one to spawn in isn't too engaging. Also, I didn't mind the graphics, I know when I play a Pokemon game it isn't going to be the best visually. But personally, that's low down on my list of what I want from the game anyway.
I remember spending hours on my pokemon fire red file and after beating the league, i normally stopped playing. The last game i had played was pokemon black 2 and i didnt really want to buy any more games, i did still follow the anime but i never really got excited for the new games. However when i saw the trailer for legends, i knew i had to play it. It got me back into the pokemon games and i have spent hours on it, i didnt complete the dex but i did do a second playthrough with very loose nuzlocke rules where i shiny hunted eevee and learned the horrors of shiny hunting. My current save file is already over 50 hours and i have yet to beat the main story in the second playthrough. And its mostly because the open world aspect is so fun
PLA Surprised me at first with how well the game design was, then it proceeded to further impress me with the soundtrack and the unique gameplay. It's one of the very few pokemon games that I completed my pokedex and tried to 100% complete.
Pokémon legends was a pretty good game. Gamefreak is actually willing to experiment now because of it and it has a really cool premise of going back in time to see what the pokemon world was like before the modern era. It’s exactly what we needed
This is the first and only Pokémon game I ever liked and wanted to play. Amazing game with an awesome open world. $60 will get you sooooo many hours if you want to fully complete the Pokédex
I really do think switch 2 will make these games way better with the rumors and also hope that they have free ehcanments for older games like scarlet and violet
The issue with LGA is that the game is super repetitive. I understand that it’s different and while novel it was great it quickly grew very mundane to catch 30 buizel just to progress the story. The loop for catching pokemon gets just as boring when you know you’re gonna sneak and then throw a ball. Theres no co op to speak of, no competitive mode means there’s little reason to go back to play the game.
If Pokemon Games were made by some Indi company I would say nothing, but they are a 150,000,000,000.00$ franchise and the fact that this is what they put out is kinda like me hiring someone to mow my lawn and I come back and the guy gives me 5 Grass leaves and tells me in maybe 100 years he is gonna be finished mowing my lawn, it's just not okay anymore and im not gonna wait for Gamefreak, Creatures Inc and Nintendo to catch up to the rest of the Industry in like 20 years when they decide to launch a console that can make 60Fps and then barely managing to hit 40fps in the Pokemon games because Gamefreak can't go with the times and hire some more staff to make a better product also the fact that we still have no new switch in 2024 when most konsols are now looking at even 120 fps is just a Joke and it shows that Nintendo only cares about drip feeding there Ip so that they don't have to innovate whatsoever, it's just so sad to see because Pokemon could be so much more It could be such a Insane game franchise and all we get is stuff that looks like it's from 2003 Gamecube era and the overall Ideas are just proving that they just don't give a S**t and that they have become complacent in every way and stuck in time and old mindsets, just a shame *sadge*.
I also have a deep connection with PLA, when it was announced, I just remember being so excited for the future of the series, I have always wanted a Pokémon game like this, action based gameplay and set in the past. I remember midnight of launch day playing the game until like 3 in the morning and being absolutely blown away with everything it had to offer the music, scenery, gameplay loop, just perfection. This is by far my favorite Pokémon game I ever played (emerald and White 2 are close) but no game I’ve ever played hit the same way PLA has for me. Completed the pokedex and pretty much all the side content and done lots of shiny hunting prob have over 80 hours in the game because I just couldn’t put it down. I’m so happy game freak decided to keep the Legends series of games going because I can already tell Z-A is gonna be something special as well. Will prob end up doing a second playthrough next year before Z-A.
The hook for me is the scientific/history aspect of Arceus. Building the first ever Pokédex by studying the Pokémon gave useless interactions a true meaning and by making it influence shiny odds was brilliant as well. And freedom to run away from battle after getting what you want without hitting run and approving then waiting on a load of some amount of time. It’s just a terrific game. Can’t wait for the sequel of aoets
My only problem is the space-time distortions. Like I've been trying to complete a living dex, and literally THE only thing I need to do now is the space-time distortion exclusive mons.
Is it on its own good? No, it's shallow and lacks any replay value. But as a concept, it means very good things for the pokemon company and the future of the series.
If you mean lacks replay value as in there is no reason to start a new game, sure. But you basically have the opportunity to play the game 3 times over in one save. You beat the story, then you can catch one of every pokemon to get the secret bosses/secret ending, and then you could complete the pokedex for the shiny charm. Then the real game starts, where you catch a shiny version of every pokemon to make a shiny dex, and hunt for shiny alphas. There is tons of replayability when it comes to the catching mechanic and the RNG with the increase in shiny/alpha pokemon by research level and the size differences. Among that, legendaries, all the unknown, and tons of quests. Basically, the game has a healthy amount of endgame content.
I was a huge Pokémon nerd in high school, ev’s, iv’s, natures, the whole nine, after that though I got pretty tired of Pokémon and it made me upset because I was so passionate about it, I say all that to say Pokémon Legends Arceus was a huge breathe of fresh air! The giant alpha Pokémon are intimidating as heck, the collection aspect, the over-world Pokémon *chefs kiss*
Tbh, I'm kinda bummed that the new game is another Legends game because while it's fun it's nowhere near as fun as the more linear games of the past for me. I loved and never got tired of going to different gyms, beating the gym leaders and champion, meeting the new evil team and the rival, and enjoy their characters and stories. This one I feel barely had any story...as the proof is in your own video as you didn't even talk about it at all lol Like, I just did what I had to do in this game to get to the next story beat but there's sooo much I have to do so it kinda dragged and what makes it worse is that I never even met Arceus in the game. I saw the credits roll and I was like "WTF?!". Now that bummed me out. I think you meet him in post game but the fact you have to do all that extra stuff after the main story to meet the Pokemon of the game's name is so...sad. Legends Arceus is more about the exploration and gameplay which goes against what I play games for, teh story and characters so it makes sense why this game is near the bottom and why I'm not as excited for Legends ZA. The thing I wish that would be improved on for Pokemon games is more focus on story and characters, give the characters(gym leaders, elite four, champion too) all some development. Make them characters we look forward to meeting and battling it out with who have their own stories, maybe even be involved in the story a lot more and a much more longer story mode. Make it into a true blue JRPG that's like 30 hours long for the main long. That would be crazy awesome and have us REALLY get to know the region, story, and characters more. Oh and please add in voice acting because it's so weird that they still haven't cause that would give the characters even more personality. One day, one day I'll get a mainline Pokemon game like that. I hope.
I love this game so much. It was a little rough around the edges but it was definitely a step in the right direction. I never got into any battles in those space-time distortions, I’d just find a space to hide or use ax smoke bomb.
It think its a great new idea and i had a lot of fun but the end game super boring imo. Also i get lore-wise why there werent many trainers but really wish there was more trainer battles. Still a super cool game tho. Loved the final boss
You dang right it is. The story is legit the best the franchise has had in the last 10 years Giratina and Volo is legit one of the toughest battles of the franchise
all this game needed was a little more open world space in the zones, so that they had a little more exploration and wonder/replayability, and some lore akin to books or tablets or engravings throughout the main story about like spear pillar and the ancient race of people who inhabited there to fill out that open world a bit more. 8/10.
I’m 4 months late to this video but I recently picked up this game and I LOVE it. I haven’t played a Pokémon game since Pokémon Stadium 64 which was my favorite game. I relate to a lot of what you said, I always felt an outsider to the Pokémon world, and a few people told me to not start with this game but start with Let’s Go but the demo was just kinda meh and I figured I just wasn’t a hardcore Pokémon fan like I was as a kid but my brother gave me this game and like you said, I get it now. Finding rare or shiny Pokémon’s, finally being able to evolve one of your beloved catches, the side quests and world, just watching the Pokémon interact, the rifts it’s just all so exciting and I really hope ZA keeps the same formula with just better graphics but I don’t even care. I actually like the graphics in Arceus.
Personally, I loved Scarlet and Violet. I played them before playing legend, and they are the most fun I’ve had since generation five. But I also have a lot of positive things to say about legends! I love the music, I agree that it is so peaceful. I really enjoy the catching mechanic, and the whole catching system, and filling out the Pokédex is so rewarding. The battling feels more like a demo, just because there aren’t that many battles, and every battle only has one or two Pokémon, but I do love the twist that they put on it
I love this video so much! I'm so excited for the ZA! I love how pretty much every reaction video about Legends ZA is all positive! Unlike that one poketuber with the red and gray wolf mascot that just loves to talk so much trash on Legends Arceus and now ZA
I like legends arceus for sure but I do think it's a bit overhyped. Like is it good yes but imo it's not the best in the series I think people just like it because it's something new
Legends Arceus is special to me for so many reasons. First of all because gen 4 is my favorite gen - Pokemon Pearl is the first Pokemon game that I really got into and have distinct memories of. I think I had played a little bit of one of the earlier GBA games but can barely remember it. On the other hand, Pokemon Pearl was my most played DS game ever. I remember playing with friends at after school care and hunting underground for fossils together, visiting bases, and even setting traps for each other. My original copy has over 200 hours on it, I also put a ton of hours into Platinum and I even got a copy of Diamond later on so I could play through it all again without deleting my original save. On top of having a soft spot for Gen 4, this game came out right before I got my first big-girl job. Since I wasn’t working yet I was able to put a ton of hours into this game the first week or two that it was out. Yes I remember the visual quality being iffy, but every other aspect of the game was so good that I had to forgive it (although this is something they definitely need to work on for Legends Z-A)
I went into this game initially as someone who didn't experience Pokemon _games_ as a kid and only really had the experience of the anime and card game at the time. I'd eventually get into them after the release of Sword/Shield and decided to play catch up from that point on with what entries I could possibly try as I made my way to modern times. BD and Legends Arceus were the first I actually had the chance to pre-order. As someone who hasn't had a disappointing Pokemon experience aside from maybe trying HGSS (I just didn't like the music and wasn't a fan of most of the designs) and the original gen 3 titles (pacing was absolutely abysmal in Sapphire), and even found titles like BDSP, XY, USUM, and SWSH overhated.. Legends Arceus is my favorite in the franchise, second maybe only to Fire Red. It's not difficult to return to past gen games, but it'd be difficult to see several of the improvements not be in future titles (though I don't mind ScVi, myself, so far). It was my GOTY in 2022. I'd adore seeing Z-A as my GOTY in 2025 against all odds.
In my opinion, PLA is also the best Switch game, exciting and cozy at the same time and I love playing it - I'm even playing it again right now. But it's also sad that since it was developed at the same time as SC&VI, which is partly to blame for the fact that some of its new mechanics and gimmicks that Arceus introduced aren't in SC&VI (also, they use different engines that Pokemon have made from scratch as always during the new generation). But I definitely hope for new Legends Games and that Pokemon would make more use of the mechanical reforms and improvements inspired by the Legends series.
Everytime i start a new game i got retro here hyping up the exact games im playing w a review ty just the inspiration i need to give arceus a full playthrough
There are many things they could update but my number one thing I want is voice acting it would help bring so much life to the world of pokemon like I said there others things but that's what I want most
It's the only game that's made we WANT TO complete the pokedex instead of just feeling kind of obligated to.
This ☝️
I have played Scarlet to Death so I'm playing my Violet for the first time and It is such a chore to fill it to get the shiny charm...
Arceus also gives you tasks to incentivize you to catch more of the same species.
Not me. It just felt like a chore list. Without having gyms and an elite 4, it felt pretty pointless.

Pokémon legends Arceus was some of the best memories in a Pokémon game in 15 years for me. Truly a magical experience
Same! When I got to the mini island and area for chimchar and goomy I was so excited 😂
Legends Z-A takes place in Kalos (XY's region) not Unova
It definitely has its flaws but it’s the most fun I’ve had with a Pokémon game since black and white 2. It’s the shakeup the Pokémon formula needed and for that I think it’s awesome.
Ye arceus is the greatest mainline game so far. I loved it. I beat it with a passion. I enjoyed live boss fights so much
A very strong, and obvious YES.
It made me feel the way I did when I first played Pokémon. It was new, fresh, it made me feel part of the world. It struck every right chord in my mind, to be considered arguably the best Pokémon game to date.
First Pokemon game ive completed the pokedex on as well. Great Pokedex set up, fantastic gameplay loop
Love this video! I really enjoyed that game! I plan on revisiting it soon. Life and other interests took over when this came out. You've inspired me to finish the game.
I hated on it at first but completing the pokedex and the game/story was super gratifying
Pokemon legends Arceus was the first Pokemon game I have ever finished. So much fun!
Just found your channel and much like you said in this video, so much of what I play these days is based on the vibes I get from the game. Sometimes things are critically acclaimed and I just can't get into it. I would LOVE to see your take on Legend of Dragoon!
1:00 I mean this made me realize it's already 2 years old 😳
Also I LOVE Legends Arceus! Can't wait for Legends ZA!
I totally get it. Although a new game, legends arceus is oddly nostalgic for me as well. The music, the vibes, everything !
They have announced it will be released on the switch and (probably) the last one on it
This game is the future of pokemon
Honestly every game should be like this
I accidentally powerleveled my entire team to the 60's before even leaving the first area while completing the area's pokédex. I don't regret it.
I get nostalgic for games that haven't released yet. It happened for Tears of the Kingdom.
I feel like I was the only person who loved this game, finally a change up from the old gameplay
Quick question is there a main menu I can back out to or I have to close the whole game and the software and start the game up again??
I'll give PLA props for it's catch mechanics. I'd love that in mainline. But the battle mechanics were god awful. I don't care what anyone says.
Most fun I've had in a Pokemon game in the last 10 years.
Yes! Its the freshest game weve had. Even though its missing some features, it was a joy to play and explore
Legends Arceus is my favorite Pokemon game. I wish they’d stick with this gameplay mechanics. ❤
Pokémon legends was a pretty good game. Gamefreak is actually willing to experiment now because of it and it has a really cool premise of going back in time to see what the pokemon world was like before the modern era. It’s exactly what we needed
I watched maybe 60 seconds of this in different spots and you may have just convinced me to go back and play Arceus again.
Yes. Best game since BW/BW2
This is the first and only Pokémon game I ever liked and wanted to play. Amazing game with an awesome open world. $60 will get you sooooo many hours if you want to fully complete the Pokédex
Great video! I’d love to see a video on pokemon rumble blast or the rumble series.
I put it in a similar category to the alternate universe Pokemon movies. It’s an experiment that isn’t for everyone but takes some much-needed risks.
Yes. We're done here.
Amazing video. I like Legend Arceus, especially for its content and how it handled trade evolution.
I loved Pokémon Arceus. It is a great entry.
Still waiting for you to do a digimon related video bro 👀👀👀
I just got it yesterday. I dare say this is the Pokemon game I dreamed of back in the day. I more than plan on playing Legends ZA
Pokémon Legends Arceus reinvigorated my love for the franchise. I’m so hyped for Legends Z-A
This was the game I wanted to complete the dex in, but never did, so when Violet came out, I made it my goal and completed the base dex.
Yes they are that good. Actual S tier deserved.
I hope.
Although the graphics are bad, I really adore the art style
Legends Arceus is a masterpiece 🙌🔥🔥🔥
I love this game so much. It was a little rough around the edges but it was definitely a step in the right direction. I never got into any battles in those space-time distortions, I’d just find a space to hide or use ax smoke bomb.
It think its a great new idea and i had a lot of fun but the end game super boring imo. Also i get lore-wise why there werent many trainers but really wish there was more trainer battles. Still a super cool game tho. Loved the final boss
pla was the most immersed ive ever felt in a pokemon game
You dang right it is. The story is legit the best the franchise has had in the last 10 years Giratina and Volo is legit one of the toughest battles of the franchise
I bought it a couple days ago waiting for my capture card in the mail to start streaming !:)
Yes. Just yes.
all this game needed was a little more open world space in the zones, so that they had a little more exploration and wonder/replayability, and some lore akin to books or tablets or engravings throughout the main story about like spear pillar and the ancient race of people who inhabited there to fill out that open world a bit more. 8/10.
I was also playing through gen 5 again because it’s such a good blend of elements.
You pretty much pointed out every detail of why I love Legends Arceus
You forgot to taste the cartridge to check its authenticity ❤
This was the game that made me lose myself in the world of pokemon since i was a kid
Yes, it is good. Looking forward to the new one.
I have been grinding my old save on this game since the announcement on Pokemon day! Close to getting the shiny charm (then the real game starts)
Everytime i start a new game i got retro here hyping up the exact games im playing w a review ty just the inspiration i need to give arceus a full playthrough
There are many things they could update but my number one thing I want is voice acting it would help bring so much life to the world of pokemon like I said there others things but that's what I want most
I absolutley loved this game. I really hope we get a similar experience in Z-A
LOVED the Tanjiro fit man, I noticed that right away
Good eye ;)
It’s the reason I bought my Switch. The only game aside from the battle with Cynthia in Diamond to give me an adrenaline rush.
This is the best Pokemon Game ever made.
I said it.
I really liked the web promo videos they did that spoofed TV shows. I wish they had done a MythBusters spoof around the stealth mechanics, though.
