OK, so I just bought the Volvo XC40, and I am having a great experience so far. I took a while to make my decision and I feel that the value offered by it is really high. Regarding the brake feel, I had that same discomfort the first day, and then I started to understand that the braking system is quite smart. Because it has such a good sensor system, the brakes behave so you brake gradually when there is no need for sudden braking, and they behave very sensitively when needed. It does feel like one has less control over the braking, but once you begin to trust the vehicle, you become more comfortable with it.
Very! I kust drove 6.5h from. Zagreb to Munich, and I enjoyed it a lot, especially when I reached the German "no speed limit" part of the trip @@fredyyfredfreddy
I just got the Volvo XC40 Plus yesterday and I'm also not too big of a fan of the brakes but the rides are so smooth and I feel safe and comfortable in it and that's what was most important to me. One other thing I'm not too familiar with is the start/stop feature when you stop at a light and the a/c turns off I'm not too sure how to turn that feature off but once I do I'll be able to enjoy it even more :)
Your videos are always very thorough and your homework shows. Did you find a lot of body roll in turns? I'm thinking of buying one. Thanks. PS--could the regenerative braking system have something to do with the soft braking pedal?
I was really keen on an XC40 but after test driving it for a few hours, the body roll and quite sluggish gearbox started to dampen the cars appeal to me really heavily, I ended up signing for a new Audi Q3 due to be delivered in February/March. I'd recommend test driving the XC40 though, you might not mind the body roll/gearbox as much as I did, I tried the B4P in the UK.
@@cypress4539slight body roll, cause it’s very heavy and a little box. It’s a lot for such a little thing. Also Audi Q3 has VERY bad fuel efficiency 😂 the dealers admit to it too. So that person is a fool
I love the vertical line infotainment system. Never cared for the horizontal line versions that stick up above the dash. I want to tuck it down to LOL. Love the seats, beautiful seats, like the heated feature of in 2nd row.
To break it down to everyone it came out around the same time as my Range Rover velar they both are very similar from dashboard to door handles but the price is not comparable at all literally half the price, so I no longer have my range I think I might test drive one of these
I always mention that when I touch on the cargo area right after the exhaust clip. I don't remember off the top of my head tho but it's in the video. 👍🏻
My 2019 has rear headrest that drop by a push of the button on the center display. My car is the top-of-the-line inscription. Wonder if they still have that feature in 2024?
@@MB-zz5re Thanks for the reply. Decided on another car as I emailed 2 dealers this questions and didn’t get a response. I figured if their pre sales is this bad, I couldn’t rely on their post sales.
@@RealKevGotEmI’m talking about the grey wool interior that Volvo advertises as wool in Europe. Use your google, Boomer. It’s not advertised in the USA.

Do you feel the same way regarding Lotus and Polestar owned by the same Chinese company, the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group? Having leased multiple Volvos in the past decade, I have not noticed any compromise in quality and safety features. What I have noticed is the technology embedded in these cars has evolved light years during Chinese ownership. In three years time, they keep evolving the state of the art technology significantly. 2024 models are a significantly advanced tech wise over 2021 models, for example. Volvo was always behind the times in the electronic technology department. Not so today.

The XC40 is actually built in Ghent, Belgium, not in Sweden.
Made with Swedish parts and a Japanese transmission.
No Chinese crap parts on it?

There is another easter egg which is a little plastic flap on the driver side windshield for parking passes. ❤
If you drive at night you will notice lighted door handles, as well as other interior lighting such as at passenger feet.
Finally, My perfect SUV for me to buy one.

Thank you for getting to the price quickly, I do not have the patience for vlog'ers burying the price somewhere within in a 13 minute video.
