Really well done with the review, extremely thorough. I'm in the market to get one of these because I live in a big city so compactness is a concern. My issue with it though is that the interior seems overly simplistic and a little chunky, almost like a preschool toy. I wish for the $50K+ price point that it looked a little more refined, a little leaner and less bulky, the controls and infotainment area looks less serious when compared to an AUDI or BMW. But, it's still a terrific car, and I'm prone to go with Volvo because I've owned a few Saabs, and I'm into the whole Swedish human-centric approach - plus, very few car makers do the whole winter/safety thing quite as well.
The interior is kept simple so that you can concentrate on driving the vehicle safely every day. It is like you are in a bubble. It's lovely. All the usual stupid flashes past outside, except when you yourself need to get somewhere in a big hurry. Then you are punching it with the big dogs. You will be fine keeping up with them. Trust me.
The headrests on xc40 jut forward too much and caused me neck discomfort. Had to have them bent backward. Not easy to do. Also the engine sounds like a blender full of paperclips. Display icons are tiny and not prominent enough to see at a glance. Like the vehicle otherwise.

Great review. Thats Vapor Gray though. The Cloud Blue is much lighter and more “white” appearing than the Vapor Gray.
