Note: Most Kuzma tonearms come with Cardas silver-plated copper cabling as Kat mentions, but the Kuzma 4Point 11" comes with Crystal Cable wiring. Sorry for the error!
Specially made by Dr. Feickert Analogue just for Upscale Audio, the Trio SE is an updated Venti with a walnut finish and a number of improvements to vibration control and grounding. Extremely limited stock!
Our analog specialist Kat loves how quiet the Dr. Feickert turntables are--not just in the signal path, but in the audio room as well. In spite of a fast start and stop, there's no discernable motor hum or belt squeak, and she is amazed at their speed stability. Sonically too. Says Kat, "The table doesn't feel like it's playing a role. That paired with a Kuzma tonearm is effortless--it's like there's nothing playing the record, at the same time there's everything playing the record."

I talked to Kat and she guided me toward the Dr. Feickert Volare when I was shopping for a new turntable. She was extremely helpful and patient with me. Definitely a great experience. Glad I bought from Upscale Audio!

What cartridge did you get for your Volare and how are you liking it? I am looking at buying my first turntable and was thinking of getting a vintage Technics 1200 from Japan, but maybe this is a better way to go.

Kat, extremely well said that “the table doesn’t feel like it’s playing a role.”
A Feikert, Kuzma Stabi, or a VPI HW-40, are my absolute dream decks. The Feikert turntables are true things of beauty.
Kat, it’s so wonderful to see another female that truly knows her sh!t in this male dominated world of HiFi. And, you play 3 instruments! That just makes you more aware of how music’s supposed to sound. Awesome!

I got the photos, the set up and the follow up. I like the counter weight on this Kuzma tone arm. My Stogi has more traditional counter weights snd I love it.

You guys are fantastic. I want Kevin's t-shirt and I want Kat to help me adjust my cartridge overhang. And whatever a fozgometer is, I need one now. For the grouches out there on Audiogon who criticize Kevin Deal or call him "pushy" -- I say go pout in the corner. He is a passionate sales pro. He knows what he's talking about. He's practical and wants you to get great value. Audiophiles come in all sizes and he talks to every one of us from entry level to real critical listeners and music pros all the way to the knuckleheads who can spend any amount just to spend it. It's a hobby that blends a love of sound, design, materials engineering, product design, experimentation, curiosity, beauty, art and humanity. And it all combines to yield a music experience. Man that's a combo I can get swallowed in. Just plain fun and informative. Now I need an amp for a pair of broken in Dynaudio Special 40's that I just inherited. At the moment, a tired old Hafler XL280 isn't half terrible I have to say. And it's an amp that is nearly 30 years old -- still killing it with the help of a simple Nakamichi CA-5 pre-amp -- maybe $800 in 1984. Kevin -- if you see this -- what would you put together amp/preamp or integrated for an inherited pair of Dynaudio Special 40s? I'll put a question into your chat-bot on Upscale's site. You guys are absolutely fantastic.

Does this 15k turntable sound that much better than my modified garrard 401 with silicon damping on an sme arm that I bought second hand for about 70 dollars. I think not . I'm using an audio technica moving coil cartridge and it sound awesome. Sometimes second hand gear can be very good value. Does upscale deal in used gear? I do like his love of tannoy speakers as I have tannoy loudspeakers in my main system.

Sme 3? You didn't mention. Fuck that marketing hype. Garrard 401 are on the same level as Thorens 124. I love that shit. You know 401 s are quite valuable. I just got a Technics 150mk2 with a Sme series 3 for peanuts. Rock on. 15k? Nah.

The sapphire bearings that give the 4point its name are used to COUPLE the arm not isolate it. It is the same principle as a unipivot but with greater stability. What you want is the armtube to be as rigidly coupled to the deck as possible for 4 of the 6 degrees of movement and free to move in the other 2. A spike is the best way of achieving this. This is one of the main reasons that the 4point is such an amazingly good arm.
SPIKES DON'T ISOLATE, THEY DO THE OPPOSITE. THEY COUPLE.

I think the Thorens tonearms are so cool, the unipivot one especially. I almost bought a Thorens table just to get the arm to build a Frankenstein table with. Turns out guns & ammo are far more important to me. My Tannoy XT8F are still in their shipping boxes they came in over a year ago.

Great video, love your stuff, but why would you put silverplated copper in the tonearm of such a a great deck, it should be occ pure silver at that money, wire isn't that expensive, I know I use loads of it in my cable building, I've been in the trade for many years, it always annoys me when manufacturers use cheap silverplated copper.
